26k for a base civic….WOW. 😳 as much as I like the civic, their prices make it a difficult choice.
2024 Civic is a 2 steps forward, 2 steps back for me. Love the Styling, reputation, and safety features. Hate the price, some dealer markups aka "market rate adjustments" and wtf is with rear usb and rear arm rest not standard?!?!
Base model Civics never had rear USB or armrests. And markups are the fault of dealerships, not automakers.
This is the trim I would pick. The thicker the tire the better and this looks good. But it’s priced so similarly to the HR-V which makes no sense to me.
Honda is going to price themselves out of the Market! They are a strong car and this is a nice review, but the pricing is insane. There are many strong competitors now that offer much more for the price.
Can you name some?
@@DailYxDosE I do not want to argue car reliability here. There are many cars that have strong reputations that are not Japanese cars.
@@Lessontobe im not arguing im just wondering.
@@DailYxDosEno you are definitely looking for an argument
@@RickStein-i9o i was definitely not. i was wondering because i was in the market for a car and i was looking at Honda and was wondering who else i should be looking at. Idk what about my comments sounds like arguing.
Yo this video helped me so much bro. I'm in the market for a 2024 lx hatchback and i feel like theyre so hard to find at dealerships around me
I barely get them, glad I was able to help
They should make bsm and rcta standard like Mazda. Both the Mazda 3 and civic hatch are great cars but the 3 gives you more for your money way more.
Honda takes time to standardize its equipment. The following generation will most likely have those standard in civics .
Traded in my 2010 Lexus LS 460 for this. Kinda regret it. Even my old Lexus had better features and a sunroof. Oh well.
That’s a big change LS 460 are loaded compared to a base model civic
I would almost rather have those wheels than the 18”, for ride comfort, road noise and durability.
Same. I just want a sport trim with 17-inch tires
I can't wait for the hybrid civic.
10k over mrsp
Great video overview of the LX! I just got one of these and so far, I am enjoying it very much. Agree with your assessment that it includes many great features while keeping things simple, affordable and all with fantastic gas mileage! My two previous cars were Honda Civic Hybrids, so the value on gas was at the top of my list while car shopping this time, as well. Trying out a hatchback is fun, too!
Congratulations on the purchase! Thank you for sharing your experience
$26k, no temp gauge, no blind spot monitoring, no rear cross traffic alert? Meanwhile, Mazda 3 base model. Temp gauge, blind spot monitoring (standard), rear cross traffic alert (standard) $25,355. What’s Honda trying to get at here?
Not every manufacturer, like Mazda, has those features as standard on their base model, in my opinion. It is necessary to compare manufacturers.
Great review.
I'm not sure why hatchback costs more than Civic sedan. Hatchback is made in US. Sedan is made in Canada. Labor rates?
The Civic Sport sedan is only $600 more than the LX hatchback and adds all these features:
Leather steering wheel and shifter
Black headliner and pillars
Sport Normal Eco mode selector
Paddle shifters
Vinyl side bolsters on seats
180 watt stereo. 8 speakers
Smart Entry/Proximity sensor
18" alloy wheels
Better quality tires
(But no 60/40 split fold down rear seat)
I’m not sure why either. I’m guessing Honda is charging more for cargo space and not having hubcaps on the lx
It's to account for supply/demand differences. They produce less hatchbacks, and hatchback buyers are typically willing to pay more for what is an increasingly rarified option.
@prescottlange I don’t think it’s the supply and demand differences because the hatchback cost more than the sedan before Covid, and the car shortage
@@ShakeemWalkaround Has nothing to do with Covid or unplanned shortages, and everything to do with gaming the market based on anticipated demand.
I get the current market situation. But back in 2017 Hatchbacks always cost more than the sedan
Is it just me or is the paint on top of the grill a different tone of gray compared to the rest of the car?
It’s just you lol
Is this paint extra? Really cool video.
There’s no extra charge for this paint.
Great description.
I see many people compaining the hatchbacks leak?
I haven’t had a customer tell me they have a leak with their hatch
How much are they asking price for this model ❤❤❤
MSRP is currently $26,045
Will you be doing a video of a sonic pearl grey hatchback
Color depends on what I get my hands on first but I did a 2023 which is the same thing as 2024 th-cam.com/video/5RS_bhV2CZ4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Cvb3A-IsI2Fl5Af0
Nice review. Thank you!
You are welcome thank you for watching
CVT is a pass
Boomer opinion. CVT = the better gas mileage
Any changes from 2023 to 2024?
No changes
Why didn't you show the window sticker?
Honda is notorious for adding mud flaps and all-weather mats, and charging $1,200 on top of the price
You're cool, but it's a petty tactic Honda has been doing for years
The protection package is about $440. I’ll show it for you next time.
Where did u come up with "$1200"? Just because u dreamt it, dont make it reality.
The Honda in my area @@srobeck77
Yep, Honda dealers are the worst - I spy the ubiquitous Honda mandatory, worthless dealer add-ons. It’s why I passed on a decent, if not remarkable Civic for a loaded Subaru Impreza RS for about 10% off MSRP with ZERO dealer add-ons. just to avoid dealing with a Honda Stealership. I’m very happy with my purchase.
The car had a protection package it’s about $440
