I remember listening to his Music back in the late 1970’s & early 1980’s when it first Came Out.
My sister 5 years older than i would play Jeans Music on *“Vinyl”* the
*Best of Jean Michel Jarre* A Compilation of Jeans Finest workmanship on her “Record player” . All Jeans Music was *“Truely ahead of it’s Time”* .
*Jean is One of the Trailblazers* a pioneer in the Electronic, Synthpop, Ambient and new-age genres, & to hear it Today on TH-cam in HQ HD & Yet to be *“Remastered”* is Not Only Reliving those “Golden Days of my Youth” but Forever More Reliving the ”Music & Sounds that we’re Not Only Intricate but Wonderfully Composed, Composed in a manner that was Truly a work of Art”. *But Musically done with great Care & Thought Into detail,* Arrangements his Music in an Artistic Way that Captured my *“Mind Listening Intellect”.*

*“Houston Nights Lyon,”* in America it took place in *1986*, Jean had a *Laser & Fireworks Sky Show Launching of the Tops of ( Down Town Houston Skyscrapers* 🏙 ) where he Magically & Magnificently had *Sound & Light Come Together.*
From the Live Recordings on Tape to have been there, to have Witnessed it *“Surly Would have been a Spectacle”.*
A Visually Striking Performance & Display, in stipulating in terms of it’s *“Visual & Sound Impact”.*
It’s Theme subject matter was Space, Intergalactic Sounds Colour Visual affects & the Man on the Moon recordings of July 1969 which was So fittingly incorporated into Jeans Show. Not to also Forget the including’s of the 35 President John F Kennedy’s Speech regarding Space Space travel & exploitation. And Houston was the perfect place the *Perfect Historic Back Drop* for this Event & on *April the 5th 1986 Saturday Nights formidable Crowds of People Thoroughly made their Approval & Praise be Known* for Jeans Electric Laser Light & Sound Show *”Simple Amazing”* .
Again Jeans Music was Truely ahead of it’s Time.
And *Sir i SALUTE You* 👍.

The radio broadcasts of his concerts absolutely sound more 'live' than the videos and live albums. You can really hear that there are many live sections in this broadcast, so it's not all playback like the stupid haters always say about Jean-Michel. It's the same with the Docklands radio broadcast. People who think it's just playback should listen to this and the Docklands radio broadcast, then they'll realize just how much was live.
Generalmente los videos y cds que se comercializan los editan demasiado. Por ejemplo el live in moscow en DVD es diferente en algunas secciones que si las comparamos con el broadcast vemos que suena a mi parecer mucho mejor en vivo. En éste registro se puede apreciar el sonido netamente en vivo. Saludos desde Chile.

Awesome, nice to hear things live as they were instead of all the studio editing later for the official releases. Reminds me of the more natural sound of Concert for Tolerence.

Wow man. I've been listening to the original albums since my high school days. And now I hear a radio broadcast of that great memory. Thank you for sharing. ♥ My first visit to Jarre concerts was Paris La Defènse 1990 and I have a radio recording of it. It's something special for those folks like me, I guess :)

The radio broadcast was a stereo simulcast. I recorded the thing live from the broadcast on my boombox from the front of the crowd. I'm not sure if this is my actual recording as it got shared around at the time, but mine was great quality. I believe the broadcast was on Radio Energie.

The Ethnicolor on this radio broadcast sounds a little different than the Houston-Lyon CD-version. Could someone explain if there has been some after-editing on it?

+DisasterOnline ...but also I am 100% sure there were lots of Edits on the VHS and CD Versions. The Paris La Defense was heavilty edited, e.g. the Errors of the laser harp, that were audible in the Radio broadcast were gone.

Desde hace unos años, mi hermano mayor y yo llevamos haciendo una teoria del disco recopilatorio en vivo City In Concert... y es que las canciones que deberian ser solo de Houston, como Equinoxe VII, Equinoxe V, Rons Piece o Rendez Vous II, son un hibrido de los dos conciertos, de Houston y Lyon mas arreglos del estudio, porque hay redobles de bombo y caja en Equinoxe V y VII que no suenan en Lyon ni Houston, o como Equinoxe V, ese bom bom de cohetes que suena con los primeros golpes de bateria, en Houston no sale ni en broadcast ni en el video. Houston hay que recordar que 4 dias antes, ya con el escenario montado, hubo una tormenta que provocó algunas averias en algunos sintetizadores, por lo que deprisa y corriendo se grabaron melodias ante posibles fallos. Eso si, Houston en broadcast salio mejor de lo que esperaban, porque en video, salio muy muy muy oscurecido, y equinoxe IV me encantaria oirlo arreglado y con su video original. Y si os fijais, muchas imagenes no corresponden con la cancion. En el video casero de uno de los asistentes, el teclado de Jarre se da la vuelta mientras habla Kennedy, y en el video supuestamente se da la vuelta con la cancion tocandose, cuando todo el concierto se pasó de espaldas al publico salvo en Rendez Vous IV. Pienso que ahi Dreyfuss, Geiss y Jarre salvaron los muebles haciendo hibridos de los dos conciertos en algunos temas añadiendo pistas de canciones que sonaron en los dos, y en el estudio, porque Houston no salio tan favorecido como Lyon. En, fin... perdon por esta parrafada.

ademas en rendez vous 2 suena la parte del hombre a la luna de houston pero terminando la parte del arpa laser no es la version de houston sino de lyon

Primera vez que oigo los instrumentos de viento sonar verdaderamente en vivo en Rendez vous II, no como en las ediciones de los cds o los videos.
Y los timbales, que en el video solo se escucha en el tercer estribillo antes del arpa. Igual que en Rendez Vous IV que se escuchan los timbales y en el video no.

le 5 octobre 1986 lors de la venue du pape a Lyon et de mémoire le pape a béni Lyon au tout début du concert pas au bout d'environ 45 min, la fin au début le début a la fin !

Tu es sûr redlyon69 ? On dirait plutot une sortie de console de mixage ou les micros public n'ont pas été branchés. Ou alors la générale ?
C'est la version radio en direct , c'est NRJ qui a mixé !
