How To Cook Adobong Pugita (Octopus)

  • Philippine adobo (from Spanish adobar: "marinade," "sauce" or "seasoning") is a popular Filipino dish and cooking process in Philippine cuisine that involves meat, seafood, or vegetables marinated in vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, and black peppercorns, which is browned in oil, and simmered in the marinade. It has occasionally been considered the unofficial national dish in the Philippines.
    Here Is The Ingredients For My "Adobong Pugita (Octopus)"
    INGREDIENTS:
    1 Kilo Pugita (Octopus)
    Onion
    Garlic
    Ginger
    Black pepper powder
    5TBSP Soy sauce
    5TBSP Vinegar
    4TBSP Oyster sauce
    Seasoning mix
    Bay leaves
    PROCEDURE:
    *Clean and cut octopus accourding to your desired size
    *Slice 1Pc of onion
    *6 Cloves of garlic
    *Ginger slice into stripes
    *6Pcs of thai chili
    *In a preheated pan, add small amount of oil
    *When the oil is hot, immediately saute garlic
    *Next is onion
    *Ginger
    *1Tsp of black pepper powder
    *Add thai chili
    *Later on, we can now add the octopus
    *Mix or saute it all together
    *After a while, add 5TBSP of soy sauce
    *5TBSP of vinegar
    *Seasoning mix to taste
    *And mix it again
    *Cover it until the sauce reduces
    *When the sauce is reduced, open the cover and add 4TBSP of oyster sauce
    *Mix it again
    *Also add 3PCS of bay leaves then cover and let it simmer for 3 more minutes
    *After 3 minutes, our ADOBONG PUGITA (OCTOPUS) is now ready to serve
    *Transfer into serving plate
    *Serve and enjoy!

    Pakuluan ang pugita gamit ang sauce hangggang sa mag reduced na ito para mas lumambot bago lagyan ng oystersauce.
    Pwede din kayo gumamit ng meat tenderizer para sa mas mabilis na proseso ng pagpapalambot.

      Seasoning mix, magic sarap in local brand here in Philippines. if its not available you can add a little bit of salt and brown sugar will do 👌😉

      Pakuluan mo gamit nung sauce mismo kasi kusa nang nagtutubig yang pugita pakuluan gamit nung sauce until mag reduced na saka mo lagyan ng oystersauce

      Done cooking kron lng.. 1st dili xa langsa 2nd dili xa gahi 25mins usa nihubas2 ang sauce.. add water guro para aabot ng 30mins mn mas tender pa ang pugita
      3rd, after 10mins ako nag add ng vinegar
      4th, instead of labuyo, bell pepper ginamit ko

      Pede mo pakuluan pero in my own perspective gusto ko sa mismong sauce na sya papalambutin para mas manuot yung lasa sa pugita. Either way depende padin sa preference mo 😊👌

      I didn't put salt kasi but you can skip putting seasoning mix depende sa preference ng panlasa mo, di po sya maalat for the record 😊👌

    Ito pa lamang ang talagang original na lutong Pinoy. Bakit? Wala kasing asukal na inilagay. Sa totoo, sa lahat ng ating mga karatig Bansa tulad Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Korea, Taiwan at China ang trademark ng kanilang mga lutuing putahe at cuisine ay mga sweet and sour at tayo lang ang naiiba sa kanila dahil ang trade mark ng sa atin ay salty and sour. Hindi tayo masyadong gumagamit ng matamis sa ating mga ulam noon maliban sa mga ilang Chinese recipe na Pata, at yung humba sa bisaya. Pero nag-eevolve na rin ang ating mga lutuin kasi nilalagyan o naging parte o sangkap na ang asukal sa karamihan ng mga niluluto nating ulam kasama na almost lahat kagaya ng igado, dinuguan, nilagang baboy, pansit, adobo kahit yung mga paksiw at iba pa. Ako naman ay okey lang kung lagyan ng asukal o hindi ang isang putahe, walang problema. Ang laking pasasalamat ko lang bilang isang Ilokano ay hindi pa naman namin nilalagyan ng asukal ang aming dinengdeg na gulay at ang pinakapaborito namin na Pinapaitan. Sana hindi ito mangyari at mapanatili ang originality ng lutuing ito na siyang nakaugalian ng mga Ilokano dito sa Ilocos.

      Gilat.an naman na sa sauce daan hantod sa mahubsan humok man tistingi aron masayod ka.

      Pankuluan yan mga dre hanggang sa mag reduce ang sauce. Sa sauce na mismo sya pinakuluan kasi para mas manuot yung lasa sa pugita. 👌💪
      Pero if di pa kayo kuntento pwede kayong gumamit ng meat tenderizer.
