This has been happening to me for years, since I got out of the Navy. Today I completely collapsed in the grocery store. It's scary. My doctor just tells me to stand up more slowly. Great advice.
Same thing my doctor said! Stand up slowly and stay hydrated! Thank God I didn’t fall or anything but still What a joke tbh. Hope all gets well man ! Shit sucks I can’t even work out like I used to anymore without fearing that something bad will happen!
This year I visited my parents who stay in the countryside and they have a fireplace, so whenever I sit on my legs near the fireplace and get up fast I would immediately feel dizzy and almost blackout. Standing slowly makes it much better.
@@iProHydro That makes no sense. Majority cases it's caused by long periods of sitting/lying down and decreased muscle tone due to inactivity. The gym would fix this. @@fatvanilla9516 it's because when you sit down for too long, your blood pools in your legs. When you stand up it causes low blood pressure so you start to pass out. It should be normal but if it persists or happens often you should ask about it next time you get a check-up

I have NEVER seen others with this condition also speaking about their experiences with it. Its making me see that my symptoms are actually common and normal for this condition. I fall a lot, and i have this issue regardless of if I'm standing or not sometimes. Sometimes all it takes is for me to stretch my arms over my head. Or whenever i turn my head/move too suddenly or swiftly. I can't breathe fully anymore, I always feel exhausted. My heart rate will speed up dramatically, then slow down suddenly. I'm trying to learn more about it finally, after 5+ years of knowing, but i suspect I've had it my whole life. Its gotten a lot worse. I'm 22.

I did consulted my doctor about this and he says that I’m fine. When I stand up my head feels dizzy&heavy and my vision gets bright&black. It doesn’t matter if I sit/lay down for a long time, just sitting down and standing up makes my head feels heavy. It feels somewhat like when I’m having my carsick. I was born with carsick. It started with that, and later happens often when I’m showering. I remember once it got so bad, that my eyes went from completely brightness to darkness, i lose strength on my limbs, I got tinnitus and then I couldn’t hear anything. I think I almost lose all consciousness, before my mom dragged me out of the shower, where I was half way to the ground. She said that my lips turned purple, and then I got better laying on bed. I think the showering has to do with just the standing up&feeing dizzy, but they might be different conditions. I’m honestly not sure.

I was admitted in the hospital for this when I was 15 after suffering a bad fall resulting in me hitting the back of my head. They gave me and IV drip and jugs of water to drink. 2 days later little to nothing changed when they decided to discharge me and I continued to make the blood pressure machines to continuously beep when standing or sitting and I still remember a doctor speed walking in confused to just see me standing. I often experience this but it's usually mild. It was a different case a couple of minutes ago though, I was hunched over the sink suffocating and hallucinating and my parents tried calling me back (I was so out of it). It's my first time experiencing that and it was so scary. I have anemia but not as worse as when I was a kid and am not currently taking any medications. Maybe it's time to visit the doctor.
I'm 14 and when I stand up too quickly, my vision goes completely black and I get really dizzy. I either stumble around like I'm drunk (usually bumping into things because I can't see) or black out. I have bouts of this, always first thing in the morning. I get up and start moving around making my breakfast or whatever and just feel like I could pass out, and my heart rate seems elevated. Sometimes if I get up real fast I have chest pain, and once my heart rate went to like 120 bpm. I go and lay back down for a few moments and it goes away. But even minor movements do it, like if I'm asleep, and move from my side to my back, my heart rate increases by like 20 beats until my body settles again. A lot of time I think I'm dehydrated at night. I'm skinny too, 5'11 and 140 pounds. I know a lot of skinny people who say they experience the same thing.

Happened to me for the first time after getting the 2020 or 2021 flu shot when I was 14 or 15. I was in the doctor's office still, waiting for my mom to schedule the next appointment when I just felt really tired. I leaned against the wall and then my knees gave out and the brought me in to lay down on a bed. Since then I've found out I'm anemic. It doesn't happen everytime I stand up and it's usually just 3-8 seconds of blindness but one time I fainted. I went blind, held my arms out like I normally do, reached for my door frame and then just fell. Maybe 5-20 seconds later I woke up thinking woah... That's not good.
I watched this video because I have been experiencing symptoms of orthostatic hypotension like when I stand up I can see at all because of a huge neon green color with some purple taking up all of my vision and I end up either nearly falling or I do fall and usually it’s not to bad but it really gets annoying recently because it has been happening just randomly now with out me even getting up. Thank you for this video I’m going to try to drink more water and get up slower and see what happens.
6 days ago I passed out from this and hit my back on a door frame, my back got quite bruised and just today my back has been hurting when I move my arms.
The first time I passed out, I tried to hold on to a wall until the feeling passed but I was too dizzy to see anything and I knocked and shattered over my mirror. I woke up kind of confused but pretended like nothing happened.
I workout everyday . I haven’t rested on a while . And today it’s been crazy but I do pee a lot and swear a lot. I am a healthy individual but this is scary and it’s been happening to me lately
This only happened to me once back when I was 18 (29 now). I remember I was sitting on my bed at night doing my homework and I got up quick to put my paper at the standing lamp to see better. Next thing I know, everything was going dark and I realized I was falling over. Then I was fumbling the lamp before knocking it over and falling to the ground. I thought it was because of the bright light. Now I realize it’s because I got up quick.
when I get this from getting out of bed too fast, it lasts for a long time, and I legit feel like/ think I'm dying. I have to lay on the bathroom floor and hope I'm breathing 🥺
I’m only 14 and this has been going on since I was 12 and I don’t know why. I usually feel dizzy after waking up, sitting, but I’ve only fainted 3 times.
This doesn't concern me since i found a technique of lying down in my knees wherever this happens to me, but later i found out that you have higher risk of dementia if you have this thing that scared the shit of me, since my grandma suffer dementia before she died.
Rhis has happened to me since i was 14. 2 years after i started smoking. I quit 6 months and it didnt happen and now im smoking again and it happened. Im use to it and i sit immediately and either lay down or grab a wall. I dont fully pass out often but it has happened. Hope this helps any of you
This has stayed happening recently and I’m noticing it’s getting worse. I used to just get a bit light headed and my vision blurred, but now my vision is almost completely gone and if there isn’t a wall or something to lean on I can’t even stay standing. This last for about 20seconds. I don’t know if I should go to the doctor about this or not.
I have had dizziness after heart surgery my doctor took away the Bata blockers and diuretic after that my heart rate improved and dizziness has got better
This happened to me mostly when getting from lower position to higher one like standing up , my vision get black out my eyes open but few sec i will not see anything and a little lost of balance. It got me worried but now i get it
is there a part of the body that would cause this if it had some type of pressure against, like a tumor or a scare of tissue build up that would create pressure on something??? neck area? back of head? forehead ?temple?
This is a wonderful job wow, thank you so much for this. I am wondering, is immobilization and bed rest a causation for ORTHOSTATIC HYPERTENSION as well?
I recently stood up and fell down as I lost my vision. Hit my back of the head and i didnt shout as i didnt know what happened. This happens regularly but not as bad as this one. Should I ignore or consult a doctor?. Everytime I stand up it happens and I lose control. I'm 15
@@physiopathopharmaco4190 i went to see a doctor and she said i dont have enough water and she said avoid standing up immediately after bed. she said another cause is because I'm dehydrated and I dont eat well. Thanks for the suggestion to see a doctor. I feel much better know 😉
i'm 13 years old and i've had this for as long as i can remember, and when i stand up after sitting/lying down i go blind for 10-15 seconds, and sometimes i have nausea too. is it okay to leave it alone and ignore it? thanks
Emoghost definitely have your parents make you a appointment. My son is 13 and just today was diagnosed with this. The Dr said try not to worry and not a huge deal but a few tests need to be ran. My son also experiences the same thing as you.
I also pretty much go blind and start shaking uncontrollably, with stronger cases I can't understand anything, I have no sense of reality the only things I know are when I have fallen over my body understands that fuck that hurts but nothing more. It's just a feeling where I can't understand anything that's going on. I went to the doctor and they said that it's not a concern and there is just something with my blood pressure and took my blood samples.
Hey guys, I used have this extremely rarely, like once or twice a year, but I was quite overweight.. Fast forward six months I have now dropped some fat, around, ahem, 24kg and feel way more healthy, but now I experience this Hypotension thingy like 5 times a day, each time I stand from my chair.. Can this be because of relatively fast weight loss ? I'll get my blood pressure checked today. Thank you.
Does anyone else's vision go bright white and have ringing or sounds like people are further away? I had this happen to me today, I really thought today was my day. Luckily.. Sitting in my car with he ac helped me, I might have been over heating too
Same. Mine went black, my ears felt like they were being blocked, and I couldn't register my parents' voices when they were calling me. I cried after because it was scary.
@@lilycha9398 hmm that sounds closer to a stroke, I'd be careful.. NOH is a precursor to a stroke or could feel similar. After I recovered I felt my brain pulsating a bit more than usual.. Probably just the blood flow retiring to usual
I thought clonidine reduce sympathetic outflow from CNS, even it can stimulate the local receptors to cause vasoconstriction. Eventually, which effect will win ?
Almost every time I stand up my vision goes completely black for a few seconds and I get super dizzy and sometimes to the point where my body collapses as if I’m fainting but I’m still conscious as I then get up again 5 seconds later and go about my day….but as well as that it sometimes happens if I’m in the shower for instance and briefly turn my head or when I’m walking and the sun is bright in my eyes……..
clonidine is an alpha 2 agonist reducing the sympathetic tonus, that doesn't make sense, in fact clonidine can be responsible for orthstatic hypotension
@@physiopathopharmaco4190 which is why it can't be used to treat orthostatic hypotension, it can cause it, an alpha 2 agonist is inhibitory and thus slows down the orthostatic reflex making it more likely to not adapt as quickly as possible to the new cerebral perfusion requirements. I'm sorry but I'd really need some citations on Clonidine's use on orthostatic hypotension. You're citing it as sympathomimetic in the vid, which is not true, something is wrong somewhere
Clonidine, an alpha-2 receptor agonist, is used to treat orthostatic hypotension in patients with severe autonomic dysfunction. Clonidine stimulates alpha-1 receptors in peripheral vascular smooth muscle, resulting in acute vasoconstriction and an increase in blood pressure www.uspharmacist.com/article/an-overview-of-orthostatic-hypotension
@@physiopathopharmaco4190 Clonidine is both an alpha 2 AND alpha 1 agonist? oh WHOAW, even tho it's used as an antihypertensive, in higher doses or intravenous bolus doses it loses its selectively, especially in populations with essential orthstatic hypotension where they're more sensitive to its peripheral action. Very interesting, thank you!

Sounds like me bro. I'm 6'1 and skinny and have similar symptoms like you.
Same w me I have a pot in my head which was increasing until I started taking vitamin c n eating right it seems to be decreasing a bit but I get the feeling also at night when trying sleep it’s really uncomfortable but will b getting check sooner this month ! N I’m 5’9 weigh 134
Thank you for the information I just stood up and completely blacked out and came to with a gash in my arm
I am also feeling the same and I thought we discuss as we are of the same age....... Can we??
I watched this video because I have been experiencing symptoms of orthostatic hypotension like when I stand up I can see at all because of a huge neon green color with some purple taking up all of my vision and I end up either nearly falling or I do fall and usually it’s not to bad but it really gets annoying recently because it has been happening just randomly now with out me even getting up. Thank you for this video I’m going to try to drink more water and get up slower and see what happens.
6 days ago I passed out from this and hit my back on a door frame, my back got quite bruised and just today my back has been hurting when I move my arms.
Get well soon
Same here Sarah, that's exactly what I end up doing too
What should i do if it's because of prolonged bed rest? And now i can't sit and stand for too long?
Just now I got out of my chair and stretched. I fell to the floor with the back of my head first and bit my tongue which now is bleeding.
I’m only 14 and this has been going on since I was 12 and I don’t know why. I usually feel dizzy after waking up, sitting, but I’ve only fainted 3 times.
That young😪 feel sorry for you...
Hope it will get better now😉
This doesn't concern me since i found a technique of lying down in my knees wherever this happens to me, but later i found out that you have higher risk of dementia if you have this thing that scared the shit of me, since my grandma suffer dementia before she died.
Is the clonidine listed in Medications the same clonidine that is used for hypertension?
Thank you for the excellent presentation.
Why do I get Ortho Hypo when I stand up suddenly when I've been sitting in a squatting position for a few minutes?
Blood flow cant pump all the way to the top
@Eric Lee It’s not, it’s just gravity
I started getting this after taking lisinopril.
simplified and easy to understand. tq sir!
The spins. I get this from time to time. Only recently did I get scare, wound up in hospital for a few hours.
Great presentation
I have Neurogenic Orthostatic Hypotension and Labial Hypertension .. how does those go together??
Rhis has happened to me since i was 14. 2 years after i started smoking. I quit 6 months and it didnt happen and now im smoking again and it happened. Im use to it and i sit immediately and either lay down or grab a wall. I dont fully pass out often but it has happened. Hope this helps any of you
I have this when I stand all day at work
Do you take blood pressure medication? and if yes which ones?
I experience this now a days.. my constant sitting on computer lifestyle is the reason I am sure... just exercise you all.. this will go away...
Hey what does this mean if this happens atleast once to me everyday. Litrely it happened today. Yesterday. And on and on and on
Excellent presentation- Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Same bro😢😢
I have had dizziness after heart surgery my doctor took away the Bata blockers and diuretic after that my heart rate improved and dizziness has got better
Nice and informative video. Like it
I have also made a small video, it will be motivating if you review. Thanks
Thanks for liking
I’ve had these blacks after standing up for a while now, but today I actually passed out and fell, it was really confusing
This happened to me mostly when getting from lower position to higher one like standing up , my vision get black out my eyes open but few sec i will not see anything and a little lost of balance. It got me worried but now i get it
My blood pressure is excellent lying down but elevated while sitting or standing
is there a part of the body that would cause this if it had some type of pressure against, like a tumor or a scare of tissue build up that would create pressure on something??? neck area? back of head? forehead ?temple?
This is a wonderful job wow, thank you so much for this. I am wondering, is immobilization and bed rest a causation for ORTHOSTATIC HYPERTENSION as well?
Yes it can decrease muscle tone, and decrease venous return, thus decreasing preload
I'm only 18 and i use to suffer from this ever since the pandemic started
Excellent explaination 😍
I recently stood up and fell down as I lost my vision. Hit my back of the head and i didnt shout as i didnt know what happened. This happens regularly but not as bad as this one. Should I ignore or consult a doctor?. Everytime I stand up it happens and I lose control. I'm 15
Yes, definitely see a doctor about that ASAP
@@physiopathopharmaco4190 i went to see a doctor and she said i dont have enough water and she said avoid standing up immediately after bed. she said another cause is because I'm dehydrated and I dont eat well. Thanks for the suggestion to see a doctor. I feel much better know 😉
@@Irfck bro plz tell me it can be cure or not can it cure permanently
me suffred in this prblm..
Very great lecture sir Thanksgiving
I feel it when I sit down and get up and walk or after I have a shower
great visuals! thanks fir the vid!
Nicely explained thank you ☺️
i'm 13 years old and i've had this for as long as i can remember, and when i stand up after sitting/lying down i go blind for 10-15 seconds, and sometimes i have nausea too. is it okay to leave it alone and ignore it? thanks
It would be a good idea to see a physician. The blindness and nausea are concerning.
PhysioPathoPharmaco ok , thanks!
Emoghost definitely have your parents make you a appointment. My son is 13 and just today was diagnosed with this. The Dr said try not to worry and not a huge deal but a few tests need to be ran. My son also experiences the same thing as you.
GypsySoul Mama okay thanks!
Gr8t.made very simple.
May you plz do Propioception🙏(South Africa)
Hey guys, I used have this extremely rarely, like once or twice a year, but I was quite overweight.. Fast forward six months I have now dropped some fat, around, ahem, 24kg and feel way more healthy, but now I experience this Hypotension thingy like 5 times a day, each time I stand from my chair.. Can this be because of relatively fast weight loss ? I'll get my blood pressure checked today. Thank you.
I was so scared I just disconnected from my body and fell to the floor and I was in a state like I just woke up from sleeping
@@lilycha9398 maybe the reason why it seemed white because the sun was in my face 🤷♂️ hope you feel better, take care!
I am 33 today i got diagnosed by same. I take midodrine and increase salt level. Will see if it improve. Can't get back to normal life
Same issue..
Does it help?
I thought clonidine reduce sympathetic outflow from CNS, even it can stimulate the local receptors to cause vasoconstriction. Eventually, which effect will win ?
One of its side effects is also orthostatic hypotension.
Thank you for this useful video. Where can i talk to specialist to treat many years case of postural hypotension?
Almost every time I stand up my vision goes completely black for a few seconds and I get super dizzy and sometimes to the point where my body collapses as if I’m fainting but I’m still conscious as I then get up again 5 seconds later and go about my day….but as well as that it sometimes happens if I’m in the shower for instance and briefly turn my head or when I’m walking and the sun is bright in my eyes……..
Brlliant video.....
Many many thanks
Once I passed out once cuz of this once (like got tunnel vision and fell over)
im scared am i going to die??
it always happens to me even if i’m not laying down or seating idk what’s the prob with me
I have this along with other issues... currently on fludrocortisone to try and help it x
clonidine is an alpha 2 agonist reducing the sympathetic tonus, that doesn't make sense, in fact clonidine can be responsible for orthstatic hypotension
I’ll take a look at the citation
Clonidine, an alpha-2 receptor agonist, is used to treat orthostatic hypotension in patients with severe autonomic dysfunction. Clonidine stimulates alpha-1 receptors in peripheral vascular smooth muscle, resulting in acute vasoconstriction and an increase in blood pressure
www.uspharmacist.com/article/an-overview-of-orthostatic-hypotension
@@physiopathopharmaco4190 Clonidine is both an alpha 2 AND alpha 1 agonist? oh WHOAW, even tho it's used as an antihypertensive, in higher doses or intravenous bolus doses it loses its selectively, especially in populations with essential orthstatic hypotension where they're more sensitive to its peripheral action. Very interesting, thank you!
@@physiopathopharmaco4190 may I ask you some questions
Ok, but what if your fine when your standing or active, but wheni sit down or lay down start either fainting or having chest pain like heart attack, standing back up makes it go away
I honestly thought everyone had this I thought it was normal
Are there any doctors in the Houston Texas area that could be seen for this diagnosis?
Did you find someone?
im 13 and i stand up or stretch and either feel dizzy or actually pass out. ive been to the doctor about it and they did some blood tests and nothing has happened and im pretty sure this is it
Alright, good to know it's fairly normal. Just stood up from a chair and lost consciousness for a minute, luckily I fell back on the chair.
If you're losing consciousness, then it's severe, which is not normal. I recommend talking to your doctor about it.
i got this right after covid.. already month and nothing changes.. will it ever get better on its own? :(
Now i know why my vision get very blurry and why i fall
Ok so how do we get better
Mine doesn't do it when I stand up its after standing up for several minutes or walking. does anyone else have this that takes amlodipine?
I take amlodipine and ramipril and this had been happening to me a lot
Super 🔥🔥
