I'm honestly _astounded_ that 'deconstruction' exploit discovered by Nuisse wasn't exploited prior, given the expanse of the OpenRCT2 community at large. It's brilliant nonetheless.
Yeah, it's so simple and obvious in retrospect, but no one had noticed it before. This is a pretty good example of how simple is not easy, and sometimes it takes a genius to find the obvious answer.
One might have expected this to come from speed running Park Value scenarios if they didn't give you enough starting cash to reach the goal. But they all do, afaik.
I'm guessing a lot of people wouldn't delete their finished and tested coasters one track piece at a time with that menu open, so they maybe never noticed the value staying the same when it's now a lot smaller. It's also counterintuitive. It does seem pretty obvious in hindsight, but probably easily missed!
It is pretty obvious though. I'm pretty sure people had noticed it but it is one of those things that is a small quirk but has absolutely no use outside of an extremely small self-imposed challenge so no one has bothered to write it down before
I really hope this comment turns out true, but I really doubt it. Any coaster type that can only do continuous circuit needs more than 4 tiles to have a functioning design already, and a launched coaster can start with 4 tiles, but it will definitely crash.
Marcel's vids have basically gone from "tricking guests to visiting a park full of inaccessible rides and stalls and squeezing them into a tiny area" to "tricking guests into visiting a stack of track pieces and squeezing them into a tiny area" and I love it. 😂 Also, hope you didn't give yourself carpal tunnel with all that clicking on the delete button!
@@MarcelVos I'd say "beating a scenario with a yard full of non- functional station pieces and 0 guests" is pretty much peak RCT2, though, like you, I'll probably be proven wrong. 😆
Maybe it's because this is Marcel's first "proper" video of the new year (or maybe it's because I'm tipsy off whiskey at the moment), but this video feels like an odyssey on the level of the Universe Coaster video. Thank you Marcel for continuing to push to the limits the boundaries of one of my favorite childhood games!
Imagine you're just hanging out in a park and you see some struts lying around from a coaster that just got torn down, so you decide to be cheeky and touch it, only to end up getting zapped by 300 points of excitement

i think that using the land as a funnel should be allowed because it is only a quality of life modification, and doesnt allow your set up to work. it essentially does the same as if you were to create a script which put the pawns there for you
Why do I feel like every assertion Marcel makes in one of his videos ("This is the most expensive track piece" "This is the highest possible excitement rating" "This is the longest possible ride" etc.) is just the start of a race to see if someone can prove him wrong or if the OpenRCT2 developers can fix the bug that makes the assertion true?
Been watching this channel for a while as an RCT-enthusiast but Marcel just fucks my brain into pieces, I just want to add fences and jumping fountains
I want Marcel to make a video about _all_ the factors that contribute to a coaster's excitement rating, other than the "external" bonuses like scenery, path, sync, and ride interaction.
Amazing as always. I was wondering if you could maybe do a video where you look and find the best custom coasters ever made in your opinion? I know there are some people out there that have put a lot of effort into making some beautiful coasters.
Ah, a casual Harry Potter reference. I work with a bunch of old guys at a big college and telling them I finally found the Room of Requirement got me a bunch of blank, confused stares.
This proves that the world needs more bold claims about assumptions/rules/requirements of software, because there always will be someone to prove them wrong. If applied for good, everyone who does find exploits/bugs is basically a white-hat hacker. People who have a talent for this should consider choosing for or switching careers to software security engineering. It's a very important job that needs creative thinking and thorough understanding of how things work and should work, and then showing where that actually doesn't work. Brilliant.
How do you move the track pieces to the side at 5:56? Is it just by deleting and rebuilding the station piece? Which somehow doesn't delete the ride itself?
Haha I don't actually expect to get anywhere even close to that, but it is interesting to see what effect it has as I usually don't ask people to subscribe.
I thought he wasn't ambitious enough! Could have gone for "it's impossible to make me a multi-millionaire by the end of the year" or "it's impossible for me to sleep with 5 supermodels at the same time by the end of the year" but stopped at TH-cam subs. Dream big, man!
This just makes me wonder how high you could get your park value if you repeated what you did in Micro Park with the million Euro track piece. How long would it take to overflow your park value?
No, but I'm not doing that. Sure, you start with stuff on more tiles in Gravity Gardens, but I'm removing all of that and then start from nothing and only use 4 tiles.
Wouldn't it be possible then to beat the other 2 scenarios by building 10 coasters that fit the stats and then removing them all except 1 tile like you did here?

Conversely, we can just do the math
