We have a literacy crisis in America because instruction and curriculum are not aligned with the Science of Reading but are influenced by a flawed, disproven theory.
The Lowcountry Literacy Project is aligning classrooms with the Science of Reading using the OG approach by training classroom teachers and reading interventionists in partner schools. Funds are being raised for OG teacher training and school implementation support to ensure sustainability while building capacity to replicate this model in more schools. We envision a world where all children can access the same high-quality reading instruction, regardless of race, geographic location, or socioeconomic status.
