    Fun fact: the music that plays when the Gwendy dolls are brought to life is the theme from Bride of Frankenstein

    My absolute favourite movie as a kid and still one of my favourites now. I thoroughly enjoy this movie every time I rewatch it. Also, just this Christmas, even though I'm approaching 30 now, my mom got me a copy of Small Soldiers on DVD as kind of like a "joke gift" but it might have been the best gift I got, haha.

    Hehe, when I was younger, this film scared the crud out of me cause I was a whimpy wuss of a 6-7 year old. For years I didn't know what happened after the one soldier got ground up in the garbage disposal, I only half paid attention really, but 7 years later I did check it out and now I love the movie.

    In Alan's defence, I can't stand people who are too nice either. I've seen this film since I was little and it never scared me, it's the kind of film that teaches you from childhood to have a humanistic thought: Gorgonites think, feel, they just want to go home, with what right do we call them monsters?

    I always get this movie mixed with with Toy Soldiers (another good movie by the way).

  • @mexicanninjadude

    You were right about it trying to be for older kids. Originally it was going to be PG-13 but they signed contracts for toys including one of the big promoters burger king. When BK heard the premise of toys coming to life they thought it would be like toy story and PG but they threatened to cut the deal with the studio once they heard it was PG-13. The movie was 2/3 done so of course cuts were made, edits, and alot of reshoots. The director said "originally I was told to make an edgy picture for teenagers, or when the sponsor tie-ins came in the new mandate was to soften it up as a kiddie movie. Too late as it turned out, and there are elements of both approaches in there. Just before release, it was purged of a lot of action explosions."

    Fun fact the commando elite apart from Chip Hazard are voiced by the actors who appeared in the 1960s World War 2 movie The Dirty Dozen & the gorgonites are voiced by the actors who appeared in the 1980s movie This Is Spinal Tap!

    • @cheshirekat528
      @cheshirekat528 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like Chip Hazzard, Archer is also voiced by a different actor, who was not in This Is Spinal Tap, Frank Langella provides the voice for Archer, oddly enough, in 1987 Frank Langella portrayed He-Man’s arch nemesis Skeletor in the live action Masters of the Universe. A movie that was based off of the popular 80’s cartoon, and that cartoon was based on the Masters of the Universe line of toys and action figures made by Mattel. So Frank Langella went from portraying a character that was based on an action figure to portraying an action figure.

    The reading system for the United States is PG PG-13, R rated, and X rated however, X is meant for pornographic material well, R is meant for extreme violence however, they both do hold swearing in both.

    "Back in the day" kids didn't respect parents out of fear. it was because parents had the integrity to maintain order and domestic harmony. Kids new where the lines were to maintain a peaceful house. And parents more easily respected kids because kids used to be expected to honor their parents through obedience as well as to make something of themselves right out of high school and usually did. Children of my generation and before were more responsible and carried more burden of resposibility. Today kids are entitled whelps that piss and moan the world isn't to their liking. Their socia media accounts are more important than their families.
