Thank you MUC-Spotter for this wonderful video. This aircraft is really beautiful and shows how the future will be. The 609 is now more valuable because of the precious human lives it reclaimed for itself.
Amazing aircraft!
30-OCT-2015 RIP.The AW609 ( N609AG) twin-engined tiltrotor VTOL aircraft crashed and burst into flames near Santhià, Italy.
Both occupants died in the crash.
Awesome, the sound signature is really low!
According to Wikipedia, it can auto-rotate in case of power failure. Minimum autorotation altitude is 3000 feet.
+Philip Chou you are right
+Philip Chou With no power on the two engines -> 3000 feet are needed for transitioning from windmilling to a fully developed autorotation for a safely landing.
Dawn of the new era implement it for a rewarding job air ambulance one of the best machine made by augusta Westland .
This is what i want!
I am too !! Thanks for watching my video !!!!
Shouldn't be too long before we begin seeing MedFlight versions of this and corporate VIP layouts flying overhead! That's cool!!!
+Heli PadUSA I think the same like you,
MUC-Spotter Let's hope!
+Heli PadUSA I was thinking the exact same thing my friend!!! Not to mention something like this might even replace the Marine One helicopters the president use. Smaller than the V-22 Osprey and can land on the White House lawn!!!
The RN needs to adapt this design to AWACs capable platform. This would allow the New Queen Elizabeth Class to provide its own Early Warning and Command and control from the ship. Since the New ships don't have catapults they can't use the E-2 series AWACs
That ish was clean
pretty cool they are just like the osprey
You are right
Great video -
Thank you very much
My fave design
It is an awesome aircraft
7:18 Sounds like a Bell 407 when it comes your direction
Thank you very much
Que lindo
Thank you very much
Nice
+scotrail82 Thank you
AW709. How performing the osprey Sense 2003
The AW609 is something like the civil brother of the Osprey
How do they control pitch on hover?
Cyclic pitch and nacelle tilt. The former just like on a conventional helicopter.
noice
I can’t explain why but I’ve been to air shows in most countries but for me the top 3 are in this order, no3, the French, no2 the Americans and no1 is the British for their understated class with my favourite British air show being the R A F leuchers. Ps, I’m sorry for my bad spelling. 🙏👍
wonder is this very tricky to fly that they still have a hard time to get an FAA Rating. Its been around since 2009. ,yet theres no news about it
Yes there are no more news about it, sad !!
Why the hell isn't the UK MOD bit putting out a requirement for the use of this vertical lift tilt rotor as use as an AEW aircraft for both QE Class Carriers, with a larger flight envelope, better for and as a long range AEW aircraft with better endurance than the amazing Merlin AW101s although also keep them for close quarters AEW which situates themselves over the CSG whilst the tilt rotor aircraft can go further, higher and faster acting as the long range eye and ears of the CSG.
Someone needs to talk to BoJo.
Long live Great Britain and long live the Queen 🇬🇧🏴.
Yes Peter !!
today this aircraft has exploded
during a test flight. RIP for the pilots
One of the pilots killed today was my cousin, Herb.Rest in peace, buddy. Semper Fi.
Terrible to hear, even 3 years later...
I live in yeovil and when Augusta Westlands had their 75 years anniversary I spoke to the pilot that ended up dying :(
Like
Tilt rotor, still a tricky plane to fly
You are 100% right !!! Stay Save !!!
Why can't they do this with jet or turboprop engines ?
I think they have try it with jet engines, i think it is to expencive
@@MUCSpotter thanks
👌👌👌👌👌
Thank you very much !! Thanks for watching my video
@@MUCSpotter It was pleasure to watch the video.
Tilt Rotor is not safe
Oi ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This aircraft shouldn't be taken lightly. Those who piloting it should be a veteran and very calm by nature. Because, anybody who is show off by nature asking for trouble. You can't predict winds.
no one who is a show off has business flying a helicopter in my opinion.
*Cesna Citation NOSE*
no need run way any more
That thing looks complicated to fly
I think it is easy to fly !!

No autorotation? No gliding? No thank you!
It can autorotate
+Lina N The osprey can't I don't see why this would be able to...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AgustaWestland_AW609#Certification
Do some research before you spout bullshit.
+derpcore9 Only above 3,000ft so still a flying death trap.
Autorotation would mean BOTH engines failing (not particularly likely). As with the Osprey, the engines are coupled together to provide continued (although reduced) power and control to both rotors in the event of a single engine failure. Probably no more risky than an engine failure of a conventional twin engined helicopter (and safer than a single...)
Sensive + Instink....Was fehlt es noch dabeim.........?
5 aw609 helicopter need let's give it me farm veng today helicopter 5 need go
