#RogueTrader This game is in a sweet spot as of Nov 2024 The dlc is seamlessly integrated and many of the initial bugs have been quashed. You play the build you want with no strings attached- and the game has an inbuilt marking system so you can plan your character easily. Great game for those who love CRPGs
@evidicus Fair points, but I disagree On the default difficulty all classes are OP and all early game recruitable characters have extra abilities that are useful (Abelard has heavy armor, Indira has 2 psychic disciplines, Jae can do almost every skill, as well as max murder). Most build videos are really dry and may give a new player tunnel vision with them looking for very specific items. New players might get more mileage learning the systems- and at least push through Act 1. On default difficulty, it's not too hard to beat the brakes off most enemies, and the game is more forgiving that it was at launch (looking at Aurora #2 and the Eldar). You can respec for free at least a few times, and most CRPG players discard 2 - 3 characters before they settle in for a playthrough. Just learn the basics (1 attack per turn, no moving after most attacks), and build your character matching keywords and picking what sounds useful. Don't get suckered into an item hunt by a guide and miss half the game
@kurniawandwiseptian less complex There are 4 types of defense (ability checks, deflection, armor and dodge), bonuses stack without special rules or types, and there are less classes (you pick a class at level 1 and level 16). There are many talents but...... you decide the character you're building and pick talents that fill out their role. The only essential talents for every character are "combat master", "duelling mastery", "nimble" and "it will not die". You pick them up gradually and don't have to rush them- if you're wearing medium or heavy armor "nimble" may be optional. If you don't equip any melee weapons "dueling" is optional.
Kingdoms of Amalur, Tales of Arise,, Greedfall, Pathfinder:WOTR, Unicorn Overlord, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Control A great game from many different genres there. Pick any one of them and have a better time than Veilguard Honorable mention to Solasta, if you're tired of BG3 and don't mind low production values in a game that focuses on D&D combat
I'd like to add some of my own favorites: - Divinity Ego Draconis - Hard to be a God - Fable Lost Chapter and Fable 2 - Kingdom of Amalur: Re-Reckoning And idk if you can call these RPG but Disco Elysium, Deus Ex series, and the Dishonored series
KoA is one of my all-time favorite ARPGs. You can tell where that was built around the shell of an MMO, but the combat is just so much fun, and the lore is perhaps my favorite narrative in any one-shot game ever.
Just finished Veilguard, took me 80 hours. It's a shame the companion gathering portion of the game is so awful. There's a lot revealed that's been set up since all the way back to Origins by the end of the game. Main story and lore kind of kept me going. The delivery of a lot of it is a total disservice to how long they've been setting things up, though. I had issues with Rebirth, it kind of let me down because I was really hyped for how they'd do the overworld once you finally make it outside. DD: Dark Arisen was a real hidden gem up until recently. It's original. It's fun. It feels like a bygone era in gaming where developers were still trying new ideas instead of following safe formulas. I just loved my first playthrough because you really feel like you're an explorer uncovering adventures as you explore, instead of being directed to adventures. Tyranny is one of my favorite games. I wish more developers would go the bad guy route. The only other game that comes to mind that does it is The Overlord series but those games have not aged well at all. I guess Fable as well. I'm really impressed with No Rest for the Wicked and I hope it survives the original publisher going out of business. Two other games I'd recommend for people trying to scratch a grimdark itch are Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous and Divinity: Original Sin 2. A game in Early Access that has a lot of promise I would encourage you to check out is Death Trash, too. I really need to play Rogue Trader, I also haven't played the DA: Inquisition DLCs and I've heard they're quite good.
No Rest for the Wicked is pretty sweet. This type of art direction is thing I love indie studios for, and the expressive cutscenes are outstanding. The way two handers work made me want to master them immediately I still haven't tried the other weapons because of how much I like the feel of 2H when you lay into something.
Fellas if you love turn based RPG's and you have not yet played XCOM-2 and Darkest Dungeon 1 , than for the love of all that holy GO AND PLAY THOSE GAMES NOW! And if you like city builders but with a dash of post apocalyptic trauma and despair , you must play FROSTPUNK.
If you want more DArkest Dungeon 1, since 2 is very different, Circus Electrique. It's Darkest Dungeon 1 but you're a circus instead of treasure hunters. More Comedy than horror, it is mechanically almost the same game, but more. Your Hamlet puts on a circus performance to raise money and materials while you're in the dungeon, for example, and you get to assign party members you aren't using and plan the show. And order a clown to beat someone to death with a squeeky hammer
Even though it's sort of a different genre, and while I know you don't really like pixel art games, you should nonetheless try drova forsaken kin, such a cool game...
Problems with Rogue trader: - Too long and frequent load screens. I think some of the maps for planets and interplanetary map should be loaded at the same time and preferably in the background - It is too easy to optimize any challenge out of the game. Starting around the end of Act 2 enemies never get turns unless you choose to let them. Caveat: It is still fun - It's surprisingly buggy this long after launch. Still some of the best 160 hours I spent on a video game, and that was just the first play-through. The choices and the writing are on point, and the combat delivers excellent power fantasy, in keeping with the story. It's easy to forgive flaws when the strengths are so profound. Also runs great on steam deck, and the controller support is better than it has any right to be.
I had a blast with Banishers Ghosts of New Eden. There is some meaningful choice there. A pretty great story and dynamic god of war style combat with a rifle instead of an axe throw. Enemy variety is lacking but it did not get old to me. I would recommend playing with the difficulty on hard as it forces you to use all your tools
combine it with arcane warrior spec, you'll get a tank that can take any kind of damage and hit back harder. its about stopping the blight AT ALL COST!
I recommend the Ys series. One of the most criminally underrated game series out there. The writing, music, combat, story are always very satisfying. I recommend starting with 8 and if you like it you're gonna have tons of awesome games to play
May I also suggest Banquet for Fools? It came out a month before Veilguard, it's a game in early access with content for 10 hours rn, and it still kept me more engaged in the world and gameplay than new DA game!
Turn based games have been making a comeback in a big way. And I for one am glad. Turn based fans always wanted to see the systems evolve to be more immersive and challenging, and finally they are doing just that with games like Baldurs gate 3, Rogue Trader, Metaphor, ect.
No, super woke publisher with a lot of unhinged freaks that attack gamers and overall people with different views, what is typical for germans nowadays.
I still haven't played FF7 Remake. I may one day, just for Tifa. I didn't grow up with FF7 like other people did so I was never attached to the game and even when I played it later on I thought it was just okay. If someone wants an action RPG series I recommend Ys. My favourites from it are 8 and 9, but I recently played 10 and it's very good too, if you can handle the slow sailing (it gets better as the game goes on) and shift in style of combat (it asks for a bit more patient than 8 or 9). If you're looking at indie, Chained Echoes is fantastic. I also recommend Monster Sanctuary, it's a mixture of Metroidvania and monster tamer (like Pokemon). I have yet to play Sea of Stars but that looks good too.
If you want Dragon Age Origins, make sure to get the Awakening edition. That includes a lot of fun stuff, like a short extension that lets you play as Darkspawn attacking a town to take it over.
Another hand up for Tyranny. I love the narrative setup and execution. Is the gameplay dated and clunky? Sure sure, but you are the bad guy 2024 Bioware warns you about. No sugar or spice, just piss and vinegar and I love it! ❤
King Arthur: knight's tale is phenomenal imo. Excellent voice acting, interesting story, decent tactical gameplay with a player choice on which characters to include in their party. Another game with more of a touch towards being evil than the typical modern Disney prince.
PoE 1 and 2 and Rogue Trader are amazing. Wasteland 3 is as good as those if you like post apocalyptic scenarios. I also love Cyberpunk 2077 for those who like first person RPGs.
I highly recommend witcher 2 for OCD level min maxing rpg players I always played like that even AC games lol. It is fairly linear has nice atmosphere with a good crafting system. I get overwhelmed at BG3, it's an amazing game don't get me wrong but not for me I'm used to play like I said also it has too many micromanagement, I don't have that much time.
Tyranny is a masterpiece, i found it by chance. It feels strangely good to take the least evil option. I loved everything, the combat the world the characters everything was believable. Pillars of Eternity is one of my all time favourites too the second i liked not so much but it is good too.
Vampyr. You can decide who to kill in the game as a vampire. If you kill a lot of people you'll be stronger. But you can finish the whole game without drinking human blood and finish it as a pacifist. The downside is every enemy will be higher level than you and the game will be much harder. And my god, you can kill ANYONE in that game. The more you learn about an npc the more xp you'll get once you drink their blood. And killing someone is always a big choice because you can potentially lock/alter active quests and the world will react to your choices (with lots of vampire hunters and locked down districts), unlike in Veilguard.
#DragonsDogma2 Don't forget that the first Game just got as good, because of the Bitter Black Isle expansion. There is still hope for DD2... which was solid in my opinion.
Agree with just about everything on your list. I will disagree with your assessment of Veilguard. I am quite content with the story, and companion storylines. I do have some dislike for parts of the combat system, but it is not the worst I have seen in 40 plus years of computer gaming.
Enderal... Looks like a Skyrim mod, but drags you into the best written story and worldbuilding I've seen. Some of the games (well, more than some) I didn't try yet, definitely agree with your mentionning those great Obsidian games. I like your suggestions and your video, many thanks
My goodness I did not expect a Tyranny mention. Not getting a sequel, with that ending, is a crime that surpasses Veilguards writing imo. Seriously guys give it a try. Truly a polar opposite of DAV
I dusted off the old 360, and cranked up Morrowind again last month, and I wanted to weep - even for the more whimsical, off the rails, TES sandboxes, its genius still holds up.
I played most of the mentiined fames, but I am playing Veilguard on ps5 and consider it to be a good game. P. S. Dragon's Dogma and Black Myth are overrated as for me.
Dragon Age : Inquisition is good imo. I didn't think I'd like it but there's something fun about exploring the map. I prefer Origins, but I wouldn't dismiss DA:I.
The game just doesn't respect your time as a player. The gameplay is pretty bad as well. I've played quite a few RPGs and I usually always play as a mage where I can -- and Inquisition has the most boring magic combat ever.
It's my least favorite, well, not anymore now that Veilguard exists. Don't misunderstand me, Inquisition is decent, but going through the optional open world maps feels like a chore.
I recommend checking out Kingdom come: deliverance. Real authentic medieval history, deep rpg systems, combat is based on real historical fighting manuals and feels a lot like actual fencing with a longsword. Then there is Sekiro: Shadows die twice. Art and story are breath taking, combat is some of the best out there and while rpg style choices are few, they are really good. God of War (2018) is also great. Good combat (a little spongy enemies though), great cinematic storytelling and actual depth in the story. Lacks the choice element call it rpg, but it's still good. Lies of P is great too. Excellent combat and atmosphere, and with second play-through story is also great.
I found Dragon's Dogma difficult to get into. I still have to try Tyranny, and give Pillars another go. I installed DA 1 the other day too, though I doubt I'll be able to play for long as I've already played it to death. But I'll see which one keeps me engaged this weekend.
I am gonna go with DA2. Too mny times it got thrased that even DA fans were very harsh on this game. DA2 is a very good DA GAME, arguably better than DAI imo & I still think it has the best combat out of all DA games. A great balance of moment to moment actions & tactical maneuvering.
@jurjcluners8490 totally disagree especially with DAI on release. There is no proper tactical maneuvering, let alone tactical behaviors features. DAI was already pretty action-ish h it was stuck very awkwardly between MMO style combat & full action combat.
great stuff as always honerary mention for me is middle earth -shadow of war the nemisis system is such a brilliant idea shame its not used in other games ( i beleive this is due to some copyright nonsense)
Dude, the games you are suggesting are actually good games. In place of Veilguard, minesweeper would have been a good alternative, you can't feel cringe clicking boxes to avoid mines.
I found "Expeditions: Vikings" and "Expeditions: Rome" by Logic Artists to be fun and enjoyable. Unfortunately, Logic Artist shut down and started a new studio after "Expeditions: Rome" so they could try and cash in on NFT games.
I can't wait for No Rest for the Wicked to be completed. Currently playing Kingdom Come Deliverance which I find difficult and incredibly immersive and so satisfying in terms of the recreation of Medieval Europe. I'd recommend Wasteland 2 and also Wasteland 3 as well.
Lords of the fallen has become really good. Helldivers 2 is also a quite good time sink. If it has to be an rpg, maybe the "legend of heroes" series will have you covered.
Veilguard helped me realize how much I hate consoomers with low standards. The fact anyone who calls themselves a dragon age fan could say that disrespectful slop of a lore destroying HR lecture is even ok, is a crime against creativity. On the bright side at least the game is a failure and makes it more likely the current studio wearing biowares skin will go out of business and a new studio can get a shot at dragon age in the future. Retconning VG would be the best start.
Awesome! :-) I was tempted to buy Veilguard, well... not anymore... ;-) Thanks a million for the great list of games you mentioned, I had no idea... I will definitely play Pillars and Tyranny... love turn-based CRPGs.. currently playing Divinity II ❣

I think Dragon age: origins animations were never really good. That's not how swords handle. But that doesn't matter, because what it succeeded as was the RPG side of things. Origins were great, mage lore was great, choices were interesting, dialogue was great and the jailbreak scene was legendary. And the dog was the best. To be fair to other installments in the series, while they weren't good as games, they had some good ideas: - DA2: Good redesign of Quanari aesthetics. - DAI: Smart controller supports. It has a really competent framework for a game, it's just the actual content that doesn't deliver. - Veilguard: Performance to graphics ratio is good, no dlc or ea launcher, easy to get running on steam deck.
Brilliant list. Played all but two and can confirm they are all great games. Will be trying Tyranny and No Rest for the Wicked over the next week or so. Thanks!
All of this are great. Yakuza like a dragon is a great turn based rpg too. The first game is excellent and the second has improved combat systems but it’s a little too easy if you over level
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous by the same people who made Rogue Trader, is also damn good if you wanted Fantasy. If you preferred Dragon Age 1 over the sequels, it's perfect. (just don't pick Azata, it's the comedy playthrough.)
Greedfall, both Pathfinders, Divinity Original Sin 2, Deus Ex, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Jade Empire, and Gothic. Heck AC Odyssey is more a quality RPG than Failgard's slop.
I disagree with DD2, got the game a while back and I have no idea why people keep hating on it, DD1 was good but it really wasn't better imo, I think it has to do with dark arisen and hopefully DD2 will get its own expansion as well.
Idk. Dd2 does play very well and looks phenomenal but the first game is iconic. It still holds up today. I haven't finished dd2 yet because I messed up and am at the Grigori fight and can't load a past save without losing several hours of progress. Which is one of the worst issues with the sequel, lack of save slots.
I am so impressed with this list and I have to give a special shoutout that you listed one of my all-time favorites, Tyranny. Always great to see it get a shout; the writing is superb and the vision of what that world would look like was unforgettable. So, what mods did you use for DA: Origins? So many available! I tend to go for one that just spruce it up a bit but don't mess with the core mechanics.
Went back to watch your pillars of eternity 2 dead fire turn based overview. I've owned the game but never played it. With this gone it might be my new RPG.
Jagged Alliance 3, everyone talked about BG3 but this released around the same time and JA series used to share a publisher with BG (Interplay). Kingdom of Amalur Re-Reckoning. EA did the original game dirty back then and didn't even bother marketing it, but at least they released it again without EA.
I'm not talking about representation because I don't mind it. Veilguard is a fail because: a) It's not an RPG, b) It's bland and safe, c) Companions are boring, and their missions are even more boring, d) Every enemy on every fight just shoots / swings at you, the player, ignoring your teammates (the most offending thing any game can do IMO). I mean I have a ranged mage and I can't even shoot when there are many melee enemies, the only thing I can do is dodge all the time. Why have melee characters as companions when they are useless as a ranged mage because enemies ignore them and come straight at me? It's so stupid I just got all the companions and it's already becoming a drag to play. I still haven't deleted it though, let's see if this list makes me wipe it off the drive
I have played all the games listed except Tyranny . Having said that , I still enjoyed the Veilguard . I have 102 hrs play time on steam. I played on Nightmare difficulty and loved the combat and story but dialogue sometimes makes me cringe.
Honestly? I'll play them and Veilguard. Was on 40k before playing. 😊 Love the games on the list and Veilguard. Great recommendations for those who don't enjoy Veilguard though
Not a fan of origins but it did introduce me to the series. The only Dragon age I am a fan of and think is the best is of course DA2. The only negative I can give it is the linear gameplay. Combat was great, story was awesome, characters look and background were intriguing, for me the game was just on another level than origins. The combat gameplay of origins bored the shit outta me, and i played many games that I enjoyed using that form of combat. Something about origins just didn’t pull me in.
Let's be clear: No one HAD to play Veilguard. Anyone who watched the trailers knew exactly where it was going. No one who played it deserves sympathy. They chose that pain.
Game lost me when it had me running around the first major city trying to sneak through the wealthy area so I could spy on people at a party. Thought the rest of it was good enough up until that point.
Is Veilguard a masterpiece? No, but it's really not a bad game. I don't understand all the hate. Of course, there are better games out there, but compared to a lot of the shit that gets released by some triple A companies, it's a solid game, and I personally enjoy it. Keep the hate train rolling for likes and subs, though. Your recommended games are on point, so I'll give you that.

Rogue Trader is exceptional. But I’d highly suggest looking up character builds. There’s a LOT of options.
@evidicus Fair points, but I disagree
On the default difficulty all classes are OP and all early game recruitable characters have extra abilities that are useful (Abelard has heavy armor, Indira has 2 psychic disciplines, Jae can do almost every skill, as well as max murder).
I stop playing pathfinder 2 because it got too complex, does rogue trader also that complex?
@kurniawandwiseptian less complex
There are 4 types of defense (ability checks, deflection, armor and dodge), bonuses stack without special rules or types, and there are less classes (you pick a class at level 1 and level 16).
Kingdoms of Amalur, Tales of Arise,, Greedfall, Pathfinder:WOTR, Unicorn Overlord, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Control
A great game from many different genres there. Pick any one of them and have a better time than Veilguard
Honorable mention to Solasta, if you're tired of BG3 and don't mind low production values in a game that focuses on D&D combat
KoA rec.
You've just reminded me that I need to play Tyranny. Off to download it right now. 🤘
I'd like to add some of my own favorites:
- Divinity Ego Draconis
- Hard to be a God
- Fable Lost Chapter and Fable 2
- Kingdom of Amalur: Re-Reckoning
And idk if you can call these RPG but Disco Elysium, Deus Ex series, and the Dishonored series
And if you like city builders but with a dash of post apocalyptic trauma and despair , you must play FROSTPUNK.
age of wonders planet fall and 4 are also incredible in the same vein
If you want more DArkest Dungeon 1, since 2 is very different, Circus Electrique. It's Darkest Dungeon 1 but you're a circus instead of treasure hunters. More Comedy than horror, it is mechanically almost the same game, but more.
Your Hamlet puts on a circus performance to raise money and materials while you're in the dungeon, for example, and you get to assign party members you aren't using and plan the show.
And order a clown to beat someone to death with a squeeky hammer
No. Dragen Age Veliguard makes Fun.
Even though it's sort of a different genre, and while I know you don't really like pixel art games, you should nonetheless try drova forsaken kin, such a cool game...
Problems with Rogue trader:
- Too long and frequent load screens. I think some of the maps for planets and interplanetary map should be loaded at the same time and preferably in the background
- It is too easy to optimize any challenge out of the game. Starting around the end of Act 2 enemies never get turns unless you choose to let them. Caveat: It is still fun
- It's surprisingly buggy this long after launch.
Plot twist: you can play and enjoy all the games on this list including veilguard
If you don't that's fine
I had a blast with Banishers Ghosts of New Eden. There is some meaningful choice there. A pretty great story and dynamic god of war style combat with a rifle instead of an axe throw. Enemy variety is lacking but it did not get old to me. I would recommend playing with the difficulty on hard as it forces you to use all your tools
I also enjoyed this. Good narrative and I found the combat fun. Just the right length.
You have no idea how happy I am that you mentioned Tyranny it's such a fantastic game and a huge breath of fresh air
I felt the same way. As soon as I heard the theme, I cheered.
Okay i will go with Origins AND i will make a blood mage, because it's *NOT* too violent to be a protagonist, dear new bioware.
Ewww that's too icky. A hero shouldn't be like that 😂😂😂😂.
combine it with arcane warrior spec, you'll get a tank that can take any kind of damage and hit back harder. its about stopping the blight AT ALL COST!
Play Drova - Forsaken Kin. GOTY.
Agreed.
Absolutely agree.
"This is the last time I'll be mentioning Veilguard in a video"
Proceeds to mention it at least another 8 times.
Meant last video about Veilguard
If you want Dragon Age Origins, make sure to get the Awakening edition. That includes a lot of fun stuff, like a short extension that lets you play as Darkspawn attacking a town to take it over.
Dragons dogma 1 is goated. And so far the ff7 remake series has been stellar
Another hand up for Tyranny. I love the narrative setup and execution. Is the gameplay dated and clunky? Sure sure, but you are the bad guy 2024 Bioware warns you about. No sugar or spice, just piss and vinegar and I love it! ❤
Veilguard introduced me to Baulders Gate 3. Thank you BioWare.
It's suppose to be the other way around 😵
@@robertagren9360 In all fairness, BG3 is a masterpiece so it can work either way. So long as they discovered BG3.
Nag I'll just play Veilguard. My gf loves the game, shes at 70+ hours and plans a second playthrough.
Bioware has no one left that remembers their old greatness.
They're the ship of theseus.
Remnant: From the Ashes, & Remnant II. Sir, you really have not played these games? 👑✌️🐲
Covered the first one on the channel.
Remnant 2 is a ton fun.
Agree with just about everything on your list. I will disagree with your assessment of Veilguard. I am quite content with the story, and companion storylines. I do have some dislike for parts of the combat system, but it is not the worst I have seen in 40 plus years of computer gaming.
I started Skyrim with mods on PS5. Never passed the games intro back in the day
The maps are gorgeous in that game. Their just very empty and the game can get a bit too grindy at times
Rebirth is a ff7, remake is just a blured shadow of rebirth. Rogue trader is just perfection, it is like playing a warhammer book.
I found Dragon's Dogma difficult to get into. I still have to try Tyranny, and give Pillars another go. I installed DA 1 the other day too, though I doubt I'll be able to play for long as I've already played it to death. But I'll see which one keeps me engaged this weekend.
Origins writing is great, but i prefer Inquisition because the combat is fun. Both are amazing. Appreciate the suggestions boss man
I am gonna go with DA2. Too mny times it got thrased that even DA fans were very harsh on this game. DA2 is a very good DA GAME, arguably better than DAI imo & I still think it has the best combat out of all DA games. A great balance of moment to moment actions & tactical maneuvering.
What? Inquisition was far superior than 2 in every regard, especially combat.
Man I loved the Tyranny shout out. Such an underrated classic
I remember getting a good ending in Tyranny, so there's an option to not being evil imo
Awesome! :-) I was tempted to buy Veilguard, well... not anymore... ;-) Thanks a million for the great list of games you mentioned, I had no idea... I will definitely play Pillars and Tyranny... love turn-based CRPGs.. currently playing Divinity II ❣
outward
skyrim
greedfall

xcom2 w dlc
theres such a massive list of games that are old probably on sale and out lass veilgaurd by lightyears
and they are way way older and still outdo it in all regards
ffs you could get more fun out of no mans sky or fallout 76 then veilgaurd
and yes ill take that stance and defend it
thats how bad this game is
Outward is magnificent. Love that game.
To be fair to other installments in the series, while they weren't good as games, they had some good ideas:
- DA2: Good redesign of Quanari aesthetics.
- DAI: Smart controller supports. It has a really competent framework for a game, it's just the actual content that doesn't deliver.
- Veilguard: Performance to graphics ratio is good, no dlc or ea launcher, easy to get running on steam deck.
"...Dragon Age Origins, the only good game in the Dragon Age series."
Amen Brother!
Amen!
Brilliant list. Played all but two and can confirm they are all great games. Will be trying Tyranny and No Rest for the Wicked over the next week or so. Thanks!
So, you don't like Veilguard, is what you're saying?
No, thank you. I will play whatever I want, even if it's Dragon Age Veilguard. As if I didn't know about these games already
Rogue trader is amazing
To say that Dragons Dogma 2 is a mediocre sequel is quite an understatement. Other than that nice video man!
DOS 2 not on list , bit strange .
Nah, if you make 'lists' there is always games someone else would like to see on the list. It's inevitable.
I am so impressed with this list and I have to give a special shoutout that you listed one of my all-time favorites, Tyranny. Always great to see it get a shout; the writing is superb and the vision of what that world would look like was unforgettable.
So, what mods did you use for DA: Origins? So many available! I tend to go for one that just spruce it up a bit but don't mess with the core mechanics.
a mod that i always use is the Sacred Ashes companion mod and as usual permanent dog companion (you can summon your dog whenever you want)
I don't like to mod too much so stick with some basic stuff. Using texture remaster, font size and no carry weight limit.
Tyranny also has the best magic system of all cRPGs I've ever played. And I've been around a while.
Went back to watch your pillars of eternity 2 dead fire turn based overview. I've owned the game but never played it. With this gone it might be my new RPG.
Thanks, I can’t make up my own mind on what games I enjoy. I need a stranger to tell me what they like instead.
Always glad to see someone mention Tyranny
Jagged Alliance 3, everyone talked about BG3 but this released around the same time and JA series used to share a publisher with BG (Interplay).
Kingdom of Amalur Re-Reckoning. EA did the original game dirty back then and didn't even bother marketing it, but at least they released it again without EA.
Because of you I Played divinity original sin 2. Now I am planning to enjoy rogue trader.
I just finished the 2023 Lords of the fallen. It's incredibly good after all the updates. I would definitely replay it several times.
It's so stupid
I just got all the companions and it's already becoming a drag to play. I still haven't deleted it though, let's see if this list makes me wipe it off the drive
not fallout 2 in here. in shock!
I think Dragon Age Awakening is the absolute best - it's like Origins but without the balance problems.
Tyranny has such an amazing world.
I have played all the games listed except Tyranny . Having said that , I still enjoyed the Veilguard . I have 102 hrs play time on steam. I played on Nightmare difficulty and loved the combat and story but dialogue sometimes makes me cringe.
Veilguard is NOT a bad game. It's become an action game, not turn based. Change is Okay.
Honestly? I'll play them and Veilguard. Was on 40k before playing. 😊
Love the games on the list and Veilguard. Great recommendations for those who don't enjoy Veilguard though
V Rising. Seriously, don't sleep on V Rising!
"Pray" is so underrated
They chose that pain.
i played it finished it and on my 2nd playthru, its very good game
Yeah Rogue Trader is diverse but there are no gay, trans and non-buynary so it is not diverse enough by californian, canadian and french standard:)
Oh well...
There's asexual romance option though, I haven't seen that before. That's some next level diversity here.
Seems like Veilguard lives rent free in your brain, that means they did a good job.
It’s the first time these smaller channels have received thousands of views. They are going to milk it.
I enjoyed dragon dogma 2 its not as good as the first but its still good
Game lost me when it had me running around the first major city trying to sneak through the wealthy area so I could spy on people at a party.
Final Fantasy 16 was an EPIC game.
That FF7R battle system ufff, cant get enought.
