This vid felt like a fair and objective review for this game. I had been considering trying it out because my friends were pretty hyped but... yeah. The snippets of dialogue I stumbled upon on social media did not encourage me at all, not the game for me. Thx!

I feel this game were aimed toward children and adults were not the targeted audience. I remember playing Starfield on gamepass people would claim you need to spend 20, 30, 40 or even 50 hours into the game for it to be good. For me the game never got better than the first 10 hours of the game.
Combat is never what made Dragon Age games good, It's were the story, character and mostly importantly the player's choices impacting the game. Combat in Origins involves of a party tactics while DGV is mostly playing solo more like God of War 2018. The enemies are hitpoint sponges which is a easy and unfun way to increase their difficulty.
As an action rpg Hades had better combat and better choices than DGV. Warriors combat is so similar to mage as I have to look closely to see if someone is playing as a warrior. Take away the shield when I first saw the game and I would have thought someone was playing as the mage especially with all the spells and fruity colors the warrior can cast.
Bioware should have stayed with what they were good at

Yeah I totally agree here, however I will say it’s not as bad as something like Andromeda or Anthem and BioWare has been out of the loop for quite some time at this point. It doesn’t quite feel like a full step in the right direction but rather like a half step haha. But yeah I think overall this game is a disappointment tbh, there is still some fun to be had but this game should be way better lowkey

I've been having fun with this. But I do have the same criticisms. The way the levels are laid out and which companion you choose to take with you really gives me Mass Effect 2 vibes. Just without the great character plots and, at least where I'm at now, which is about half way done, the narrative so far has been kind of weak. The quests themselves are a blast and I love the combat, although since I've been doing side-quests whenever they come up, I feel really over-leveled when I go back to a main story mission. So the combat can get too easy, but I had the same problem in Mass Effect 2. The dialogue can be really cringy, but I'm still loving it. Some of the "woke" ideologies that are pushed in this game don't really make sense for its setting, but that really is a very small part and it centers around only one of the companions. Everybody else is pretty fun. I agree with your overall assessment though, I would give it a 6 out of 10. It's not exceptional at all but it is still really fun to play. I'm really looking forward to the end game because I hear it's the best part of the game. No spoilers please!

For me, the game is just a big disappointment. Sure, it isn't that bad as a stand-alone. It's a solid 6, a game you play (buy on sale) when there's nothing else and you're bored. You can have fun with it and it has its moments. Combat and stability are big pros, for a 2024 game (sadly) it's extremely polished and runs smooth as an babys a**. But after a few hours in, combat becomes a con as well, at least for me. Yes in comparison too the others it's the best combat system, it has a good base, but it becomes very repetitive and boring. Builds aren't as complex as i seems in the beginning. you unlock a few skills. The rest are passives, wouldn't call that a good skilltree, not bad, but not really good. But yeah, combat was never the reason why you play a DA... i'm a huge fan of the lore, the characters, the player choice, and the role-playing in the franchise.
Veilguard has none of that, none...
Characters are boring, one dimensional Stereotypes of disney characters. Some have a very good idea behind them, but their potential is completely ruined by the writing. The game tries so hard not to be offensive, that it offense me(joke, kinda). But then you have the one character who acts like a spoiled child and offense everyone. and the biggest joke about them, is that their story arc wants to teach us about gender identity and how important respect for these people is (ironic isn't it)... we had gay and trans people in every DA, but never it was so poorly implemented... dialogs are childish and flat. The language is 2024 slang and immersion breaking. Player choice is just an illusion and role-playing impossible. You're the good guy, period. You can change your tone a bit(not even that much), that's it. I felt like i was playing the playthrough of someone else. I remember an interview with busche where she speaks about her time with the inquisition, and i have the feeling. We play her fan art. I mean, look at the default inquisitor, she's like Busche describe hers. It's not a real theory, but i wouldn't say that it is impossible. Anyways. Player choice doesn't matter at all, not only the spit on our choices in previous game, they spit on the lore. 2 major choices permanently affect the game and honestly it's not even that major... okay *SPOILER* they have the balls to kill off one companion(at least), that's cool, and may be a major choice for some, for me i couldn't care less. as i couldn't connect with a single companion.

0:33 bioware we love is dead, the old staff is mostly gone and replaced with activists
actually i like combat in past games more, sins in DAV ur limited to 4skill in combat, in older ones u can use a lot different elements 8skills on ur bar and i thin 9 and 0 were potions, also what i don't like with this combat, awry1 looks like a mage/awry skill looks like spell
6:12 that part is ferry limited compare the previous games

Play the game and 100% the achievements. This game is trash. I regret buying it at full price if it was a game on sale though I’d feel much more comfortable getting it out of discount. Overall, it’s 2.5/ 5 mainly because your decisions do not matter except for the three different endings and the writing sucks.
