DNS addresses:
8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for IPV4
2001:4860:4860::8888 and 2001:4860:4860::8844 for IPV6
Then Restart your computer. then your problem will be solved.

I can't thank you enough. Not only has this sorted the problem that started today, but also another problem I'd been having for many months that I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to fix.

its a bit suspicious GOOGLE LOOKING AT YOU.
turn off your computer and anything else that is connected to your Router. Then turn off your router and wait at least 30 minutes, i usually leave it for an hour. Then restart the router. When the router is finished booting and is connected to the internet, start you pc. This always works for me. I think it is called a DNS reset... DO NOT PRESS THE RESET^ BUTTON ON YOUR ROUTER, this will factory reset it, which is not what you want to do!
I tried EVERYTHING I could think of, even other things I found on Google, and this right here finally fixed my problem! Seriously thank you so much! This was a Godsent!
This didn't work at first, I had to re-start my modem before it continued. So guys pls remember to re-start your modem if it doesn't work. Thanks a lot Andrew

Just thought of sharing our experience with the same scenario. I have the same problem after adding an Ethernet switch. Once the switch was removed, problem was solved. Therefore, before modifying any Network configurations, please check whether you have added any Hardware (similar to Ethernet switch etc.) between your Modem and PCs/Laptops. Modifying Network configuration may cause more problem, it happened to our daughters PC. Thanks.

Thank you Andrew. It's funny, it is a common exercise on IT class to set the DNS server to 8.8.8.8 in Packet Tracer, but I never know what it does or what it means. Anyway, it works now so thank you again

Thank you.This only affected MY win8 laptop, none of the other pc's (Win10 and Win7) were affected, so not a modem issue. I had to set both the wifi and the ethernet connections, with the ipv4 and the ipv6 addresses. Most videos just show the IPV4 solution, but it wasn't until I found your video and set the ipv 4 AND 6 (on BOTH my connections) that I finally had access.

been messing with computers my entire life and I've never come across this problem, google doesn't have a fix, my ISP has no fix. I looked for an hour. thank you for existing.
Right? Me too and there are a ton of so called fixes that didn't work on the internet too.
(UPDATE: I was able to access websites again after leaving my computer on for an hour. still dont know whats going on.)
on an ethernet connection and I've tried every single one of these methods, the manual ipv4/6 thing shown in the video, the CMD reset commands such as DNS flush and "netsh ipv4/6 reset", (briefly) disabling and resetting firewall, replacing ethernet cables, virus scans, checking the host file in system 32, looking for port hogs in task manager, resetting the router via unplugging for 2 minutes, checking if I'm being forced on a proxy server, using a different browser, disabling and reenabling the network, looking for unusual port forwarding rules, checking with my isp for outages, and literally none of it worked. Every reset however, I'm able to connect to websites for a brief moment before it's unable to connect. and TH-cam works completely fine, JUST TH-cam. I have no idea what's going on. All I did before the day it happened was play Apex and I was especially laggy before getting off. I touched NOTHING else.
The same problem here i did everything but only TH-cam works.
I would recommend also restarting your router after doing this. I had this issue right after updating my laptop, which I find very ironic in an interesting way. Thank you Andrew.

Legend! I didn't even need to restart, just disabled the network connection and then re-enabled.

A question, how many times did you have to do it? I'm having this problem right now and after changing the DNS twice everything works for only about 5 minutes after restart before braking down again;;

I read the comments and someone said they switched the IPv4 back to automatic and it helped them, but when I tried to do it it somehow disconnected me from the internet entirely?? (I'm on a cable) maybe it was just a coincidence but it's really annoying. I have finals to study to and instead I'm trying to fix my computer...
@@izyli8953 bro I tried another method where u go to powershell ise via the search bar and type in netsh int reset, and restart ur computer. That worked for 5mins again and now it's broken again.

Just install anti virus software, and do full scan....it worked for me........

This works in 2023 the only difference is U go to wifi, connect to a wifi, then click the (i) at the top right, then click ipv4 and turn it on, go to his description and copy past the ipv4 info then scroll down to Ipv6. (btw I did both so I am not sure if u need to do both) My hotspot from my phone was giving me the problem he talked about.

For me it happens in the whole home network, every device, started at a random moment. This didn't fix it but I will try and see if I can do something similar in the router settings.
if it says obtaining IP adress, you need to restart the router or either wait
im having the same problems with all my devices. did you fix this.? I can search google fine but will not go to any link from there. I can play youtube fine but thats it.. wont even do a sppedtest.. & this is on my PC phone & anything connected to mt wireless router... thanks.. if it helps im also on EE fiber

@@VoliKnight354 I contacted my provider and the only fix after 3 weeks of trying everything was for them to swap my broadband fibre port at the exchange box. Worked straight away then.
VoliKnight354 that was pretty long time ago so I can’t remember at all, I think it wasn’t a problem on our side so our internet provider fixed it after some time but I’m not too sure about remembering this right.

It did not work right after but I think it helped. I checked my security settings and uninstalled 3rd party security that I did not subscribe to just in case that was the problem. Then after restarting I checked my security settings again and got an issue that said IT administrator has limited access on my security settings. My main account was the only account connected. So I went to windows about the issue and they already had step by step instructions with command prompts and copy and paste. It worked for me after that. So I'm still liking the video.

Bad news: thats kind of a lie. I mean it did work, problem is now it keeps freezing every couple minutes for a few seconds. Any help to this? might've been something i did, idk for sure. I filled in both boxes if that did anything, but agian, idk for sure.

Yeah, I've fixed it. I went back and did this again a week later and just started messing around with it and then it started working. For internet protocol 4 I have it set to 'obtain DNS address automatically' and for internet protocol 6 I have it set to 'use the following DNS server addresses'. You need to tick that box and then put the numbers in, 2001:4860:4860::8888 and 2001:4860:4860::8844. So basically do the same thing as what the guy in this video did but set IPV4 to 'obtain DNS address automatically'. That's what I did and it somehow fixed it. I hope this helps. Let me know if it does. :)

This worked once but now after a day or two the problem is back. Despite still being set to the settings in the video, it doesn’t work. I tried setting it back to default and then changing the settings again and nothing.
Same for me, i just redid it and eventually it stuck.

Thank you, sir! I was having this problem and it turned out my ethernet cable was not fully plugged into my PC and it was using my wifi signal instead with a weird set of DNS number. Pushed the cable back in firmly, PC back to ethernet cable, all is well!

Yeah, got an error for two evenings when on my home computer I could only open TH-cam and Google Search, while Steam got slow as hell, Discord and GOG wouldn't open and no other web site would load. Got constant PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR errors.

It worked! I recently rebuilt rig and installed new wifi adapter. internet worked somedays and not others but youtube always worked. lots of troubleshooting, happy it was simple! thank you
What if this problem happens in both, win 10 pc and Android smartphone.
Win 10 says wifi connected with internet access. But, only google works.
Android says wifi connected but no internet access. But, again only google works.
I haven't got windows 10 so uncertain, maybe some other people in the comments thread have solved it... Anyone?

A tip for other websites: If you have this issue and google a site that seems to have some info you need. You can use Google web translate to indirectly access the site. Since I am not a native English speaker I get this option on most sites within my nation, but I assume it can be used from English to English as well just to enable you to read the page content.

This didn't work for me personally but here's what did.
I have a Motorola MG7550 modem/router combo that's been working great for about a year. Then suddenly we stopped being able to connect to the internet. The modem/router lights were all on and solid; our phones and TV couldn't connect at all but our laptops could access select websites (Google, TH-cam). This helped us realize that ipv6 was connected but ipv4 was not. After hours (and hours) of Xfinity support, Motorola support, and general internet sleuthing, nothing worked UNTIL this morning I tried something dumb and it worked. On my laptop I went to Control Panel < Network and Internet < Network and Sharing Center < click on Connections: Wi-Fi < Properties (at the bottom, not "Wireless Properties"). Then I unchecked the box next to Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and hit OK. Then I clicked on Properties again and rechecked the box (then OK < Close). My IPv4 Connectivity went from No Internet Access to No Network Access to Internet. And voila, that fixed our Wi-Fi on ALL our devices.
Now full disclosure, I tried lots of other things first and I suspect this alone wouldn't have fixed the issue but I can't be sure. If I had to guess, I think it might have worked if I either unplugged the modem/router and then did this or if I had Xfinity reset the connection and then did this. It's possible that I needed to do the hard reset to factory settings before unchecking/checking the box. What I do know is that none of these things worked by themselves. I also know that changing the IP address and/or DNS server address was NOT needed as I changed these back to automatic a couple resets ago.

I had to forget my network on all devices, then log back in. Eureka!! they all seem to work just fine now. Did you or anyone figure out why this happened? I am blaming comcast my internet provider.
