I have been editing on my i3 7th gen with 4GBs of Ram. Sometimes, I break down thinking how difficult it is to edit on this hardware. But I determined. I am learning and looking for clients. I hope things will get better over time. Wish me luck, folks!
Hey man! On the same journey with you! I know it gets hard sometimes xd yet i believe if you're determined, than there exists no one to stop you.
Keep up the hard work, if you can push through on difficult hardware, imagine what you can do in a few weeks/months when you're able to buy a better computer!
Thank you so much, guys! It means a lot to me! Let's keep doing our best and never give up!
Hey man, Just wanna encourage you to keep pushing, I started with Intel celeron pc 4gb ram, then later moved up i5 3rd gen 8gb ram... then later got ssd... it's a process but you gotta keep pushing... now I use an i9 13th gen 64gb ram and a 4090...obviously it didn't come in one day and I didn't even think it was possible... you're doing great man just keep pushing
@@luizsaha You are an inspiration, man! Thank you so much! Wish you even more success, brother!
Hey mate your way of explaining is Soo good and I love it.

Great video, thank you for sharing. I hope that I can pursue this and start editing videos, I've been doing it for over 15 years for fun but I'm ready to take the next step and do something further with it. Thank you!
Sounds fantastic - take the leap! Best of luck with it and thank you for watching :)
Thanks for the tips mate. Just started Freelance VE myself. Will definetly try out these methods. Can't wait for your channel to blow up 🍻
Thank you bro, I really appreciate it! Best of luck with your editing journey
Never knew that. Insert PI after youtube to download it. Thanks for that! I learned something new.
No problem at all, glad I could help! :))
Thank you so much for the tips!, your videos are so criminally underrated!
Thank you very much for your support! :)

Speaking of consuming content intentionally, I think another thing you can do is look at what you watch regularly and see if you find an effect, transition, or editing style you haven't done before!
It's a good way to get new ideas and keep your mind fresh 👍
Definitely, replicating big creator's styles and editing techniques is such a powerful way of fasttracking the learning stage! Thank you for watching :)
Thanks for the great video brother!
Thank you for watching :)
I love the way you edit Man
Thank you! :)
Nice video man, and it's really inspiring.

Hey Liam, thank you for the kind words! I've just sent you an email bro.
Thanks for this video, I’m currently pursuing a career in post production in LA and the industry is in a slump right now where there’s no work, so I’m hoping with the experience I’ve gotten in the past year I can keep the momentum going and get some consistent freelance work!
Absolutely, if you invest time into making it work, it'll work. Keep that momentum up :) Thanks for watching!
Honestly, this video helped me in how to properly reach out to potential clients. I've been editing for almost 4 years now (since 14), but I've always wondered how the heck I'll be able to find clients. I was always in that mentality of: "What's the point, they probably wont see it..". I see that's a taboo mentality to have in a profession where marketing yourself correctly is key to finding work. People say that I'm still very young for this (18), but I believe this is the best time to start.
Hey man, very glad to hear this!
18 is absolutely a great time to start, I started at around 18-19 ish. But yeah the mindset of "they probably won't see it" isn't great, as it's the opposite mindset that allows you to put in the effort to ACTUALLY get seen by these big creators. I've contacted almost every creator I've ever watched in some way or another, it's truly an artform.
Glad you enjoyed the vid! :)
Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you!!!😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️😍😍just THANK YOU!!!!
No problem at all!!
respect your effort brooooo ❤❤
Thanks man! Glad it's recognised.
Great content ❤
Thank you!
Your so underrated bro! Could you make a video of how you edit and how to take less time to edit. Tips etc.
Sure thing, thank you! I've got a video on my channel of productivity but I've got a few more planned!
@@sampdbiz ok thanks.
6:20 wow man this helps a lot THANKS!
Glad to hear, thank you!
I really like the video and the ideas.. Do we need Premiere pro and After effects to join the academy? or just Premiere pro?
Just Premiere Pro! And thank you for watching :)
I started editing my own videos a few years ago and Premiere is just the standard honestly, DaVinci Resolve is apparently a good option but I simply can't stand it's UI and it feels complex.
Yeah it's all about using what works for you really. I've been in the Adobe ecosystem since I started but may try out other softwares to see if I prefer their UI.
By following your course, around how much can you earn as a video editor before you must create an agency? Does it top out at around $3K/month? There is only so much time in a day. But I read posts on reddit from editors who earn $1k a day. But perhaps they are working for a studio or something.
It depends how well you present/market yourself really. There are TH-camrs that pay thousands for videos, and there's ones that pay hundreds.
Ultimately the better at business you are, the more you'll get paid. That's why I thought it was so incredibly important to have 2/3rds of the course business related, because no one else will show you the ins and outs of the model.
To answer your question, it doesn't top out at $3k but there obviously would be a ceiling to it before you have to explore scaling.
Thank you!
curious on how to send a client the finished video? about to start freelancing & only have a few videos on my channel
I’d recommend using www.frame.io to send clients finished videos. You can of course use Google Drive or Dropbox, but Frame.io allows the client to leave timestamped corrections for you to make, which is super helpful!
I just can't thank you enough
Glad you enjoyed, thank you!
you are spitting some juicy secrets😁
I try to :) Thanks for watching!
great video man! I just have one question. What specs MacBook do you have?
16GB Apple M1 Pro 16-inch, 2021. I didn't want to spec it out when I bought it, I just wanted a large screen mac. Hasn't let me down yet!
@@sampdbiz Awesome, nice! Thank you for your answer!
Hi Sam, are you going to teach in your course how to edit videos with your style of editing? Like adding the animations or presets EXACTLY what you use in your videos?
I had that idea last night actually! I'm going to break down my next video on-camera and go through each and every edit technique, why I've done it and how to do it, so yes!
Great idea bro :)
@@sampdbiz Do you mean in the course or in your TH-cam Channel?
@@sampdbiz Glad you're considering this. Looking forward to it!

So good
Thanks for watching!

It's a one-time payment!

Thoughts on DaVinci resolve?
I'd recommend PP because I use it, but heard great things about DaVinci and no-doubt a brilliant software.
How do we know what kind of video a client will create on a freelance platform???I mean, what type of video editing should we learn so that we can offer freelancing services...any specific types of video editing, that have demamd.
The best editing is TH-cam video editing, shortform editing for Instagram/TikTok or building personal brands.
I even use HP Intel Celeron pc. Mehn it isn't easy with it at all, but i dont have an option
Keep up the grind until you can level up to something better bro!
Nice
Thank you!
Epic video mate. Whats been the biggest thing youve learned that has helped acquire you more clients?
Definitely different digital skills. I was saying to someone in my community today: If I didn’t have the ability to turn my ideas (of a website, landing page, image, video etc etc) INTO reality, and create them, I don’t think I would be ANYWHERE.
The best thing I did was become capable.
@@sampdbiz Dude 100% i agree. Its becoming a master of MANY skills. Thats the main thing that took me from 4 figure to 5 figure monthly income.
All I want to do is 1 mark begin point of some segment, 2 mark end point, 3 delete. Is there ANY video editing software for android that will do this simple thing?
CapCut mobile might be a good option for you. But I'm not familiar with editing on a mobile phone or on android, sorry!
HI Sam, I have a quick question. I have a decent laptop that I use to run my editing software (filmora right now) and a 3D rendering program (Unreal 5). I have wanted to get Premiere Pro for a long time as I wanted to have the option of using After Effects. But I have heard that Premiere is extremely expensive compared to DaVinci Resolve, so I just wanted to hear your opinion on this as a Premiere Pro user. Thanks!
It’s not too expensive, maybe $20/month ish but there are tons of deals you can get. I believe Davinci Resolve is free but I can’t say I’ve ever used it personally.
But I love Premiere Pro. I run it on my mac and it runs well so can’t complain. It’s easy to get to grips with too.
there are a lot of videos on YT on why some big creators are switching to DaVinci, check those out, they explain everything pretty well. I myself also made that switch half a year ago after working in Premiere for 2-3 years. I enjoy it more than Premiere to be honest. And it has a free version which has like 85% of features of the full version.
Can I become good video editor who can charge 100-200$ per video by giving 6 hr everyday to editing in 1 month?
Anything's possible if you set your mind to it, 6 hours a day is fine!
Well it’s been 2 months? Did you do it?
Did u make it?
not really. Maybe in one year you can.
@@viniBR232ive been editing for 2 years and a half
Im still 16 but i donno how to find a job
Hey, prob wont sere this but what do u sue to transfer videos to clients and back?
Hey man, I use frame.io to get their opinions and comments on my video and Google Drive to transfer footage/ finished video.
@@sampdbiz thank you
What would you reccomend us do to get the attraction on twitter?
It's all about giving free value and packaging it in a way that's proven to work. I'm no Twitter expert but I've had success on the platform when I've dedicated time to it. I'll drop a video on it soon :)
@@sampdbiz thank you
Hello Sam, I love your content.Btw I am a professional video editor and I want to edit videos for you. I recently edited videos for Franklin Miano. and I want to expand my connection. thank you
Hey man, thanks for your email and comment! At the moment I’m looking to keep control of the edits but in the near future I may reach out with some work.
But how to find the raw files of these TH-camrs like Iman Gadzhi
Just find a 30s clip of unedited footage. Like a podcast or old video.
❤ the video. Im a beginner. I try to join the academy but dont have GPay. How can I pay alternatively?
Hi there, there’s Google Pay and debit/credit card on the checkout page, and if you scroll to the bottom of the checkout page there’s also a PayPal link where you can enter your total!
Select “card & more”
I have Davinci resolve will your academy work for that ?
Very soon it will! At the moment it's only Premiere Pro.
try to to make something broader for the other editing softwares too. Would be really helpful

Do you think that AI will affect this industry?
I think the best editors will use AI to their advantage, to achieve better outcomes. Rather than be replaced by it.
7:29 my god. Emailing That is low 😢 . My chest hurts
I have no idea what on earth you’re talking about
@@sampdbiz i mean sending emails sounds like begging ,
Ah okay
but how does a new editor compete with the editors who have been at it for 20 years?
Turn the “negative” of having less experience into a positive: You can learn your editing around their style, and entirely work around their schedule on a smaller budget.
@@sampdbiz how do you get footage to edit. Seems i have to shoot a bunch of stuff as well. Otherwise nothing to practice on.
Raw footage all over the internet. Lots of creators’ videos are just raw uploaded from their phone. Hamza, Andrew Kirby, Charlie Morgan etc etc!
@@sampdbiz 👌

Sadly, at the end of the day is still a service where you sell your time for money.
You either ask enourmous prices for a video or you can productize your service. But still selling your time, so low leverage in long plan.
Sure thing but developing high value skills leads you into higher leverage positions and roles!
It isn’t pick 1 business model for life, it’s a path!
@@sampdbiz Indeed! That's a great answer, I really apreciate the honesty and logical response.

Hi
Hi!
Think my anxiety about getting involved with this is simply that there are SO many freelance editors now that someone just starting out on the freelance front won’t be able to get noticed
You just have to be slightly above the rest to stand out. And if you focus on standing out, there’s no way you can’t get recognised.
I have a crappy pc too so i know your suffering 😂
