Bro keep trying you are just one step away from success which you don't know yet...when you started your freelance journey ?dont you get a single client?
Brilliant, Sam. You’ve accomplished so much already. It’s inspiring to see what you have been able to do. I’m a self taught videographer and editor who came into this really late in my career. It’s honestly quite scary going from a traditional job (sales & business development) into full time content creation. Lots of self-doubt. That’s why I’m really glad I found your videos and joined the editors academy. I’m currently freelancing and I’m sure you and your viewers know the feeling of the highs and lows. The community you are building has definitely helped me. Well, I’m still on the journey I guess. But thanks for sharing your work and insights.
Thank you very much! It's great to hear you've ventured into videography. I'm sure you'll find a lot more fulfilment in this path, even though I was in a creative career beforehand - it was still refreshing (after the period of uncertainty) to have full creativity and freedom. Super glad Editors Academy has helped you, thank you for watching!
I can't believe I stumbled onto this gem of a channel. I really identify myself with you, looking at you as the potential I can reach in the editing space. I'm right now in what you described as step 1, even though I did it a little differently, I started with my TH-cam channel first (which I ran for 2 years) and I'm now venturing into freelancing (because I wasn't making any money). I found your videos super helpful and am so grateful for you putting this wisdom out. You are truly an inspiration for me and many other editors like myself.
Thank you so much, that's very kind of you and it's amazing to hear you're on this path. It's super fulfilling and I'm sure you'll do amazing. All the best man, thanks for watching!
Honestly, this video helped me. I was going to go into the world of digital marketing, but honestly it isn't really a passion of mine, rather, I like the skills and think they are necessary to build a business around what I actually want to do. Video editing seems like it can lead into other aspects of life
Just discovered this entrepreneurial editor scene, love this type of content. I have been sharing video editing tutorials but want to start making more business/freelance related content like this. Thanks for the inspiration!
very informative video as always. I first dove into the world of entertainment in 2000 and it wasn’t long before I realized that it was exactly what I wanted to do with my life. Since then, I’ve worked with many clients on a wide range of projects, all of which push me to be more creative each time. I know how important it is to be innovative when it comes to work, which is why I am constantly researching industry trends to stay at the forefront of the creative world.
It's fantastic that you found your calling and pursued it to this level! Keep up the amazing work man, inspirational to hear and thank you for watching :)
Absolutely man, I appreciate your support across my videos and I’m very glad my content has resonated with you to this extent. Best of luck on your editing journey bro and thanks again! 🙏

But you showed me a totally different way how to do it!! Thank you a lot, a really appreciate your effort to give us such a valueable video, thumbs up man !!
Great, very informative video brother, appreciate your work! I'm starting my journey as a video editor from Russia, so wish me luck😄 I would also like to add that there are at least 2 more ways to make money in video editing niche: 1) Sell VFX, SFX packs to editors 2) Sell plugins/tools for editors
Mentioning all that you will be doing sounds like a lot of hard work and i dont know if you’re going to keep that up for long. Sounds like a huge burnout waiting to happen. Even though you’re passionate about something it eventually goes away because a wise quote i heard was “If moneys where you find happiness, you’ll always be poor.”
That'll be until I systemise and outsource all of those processes, money is a great factor into this but primarily I enjoy the fulfilment from being able to be free and creative everyday. That's just my experience with it.

I'm still figuring out which path i would take my desider is to make tons on money making the job that i enjoy and which can help me building the kind of life that i desider and to live a good life. Ty very much for your video Sam and i'm looking forward to work for more people as you did

I'm updating Editors Academy next week with tons more content but yes it is very much up to date. See you on the inside, thank you!

Hey Sam P Dunn you said On October 5th, you'll be hosting the most valuable free 1 hour live session on video editing but you didn't uploaded it on TH-cam. Why?
I think editing content you enjoy watching/ are passionate about BEATS any sort of high performing niche. Because in my opinion the most important variable is YOU, rather than the market. So go with what content you enjoy watching! :)
So, your plan involves partnering with someone who will handle the video filming, while you take charge of all other aspects, including strategy development, marketing, video editing, and sales? With an equal business partnership split of 50-50?
Yeah that's it. For example working with an expert in AI and build a personal brand around AI. All they do is offer their authority and knowledge in the space, and I do the manual work of packaging that up and using it to grow a channel! I'm not 100% sure if it'll be 50/50, I'd like to imagine that because it's very dependent on my time and I'll be in charge of the whole brand, I could get a higher %. But we'll see, I'll keep you posted.
@@sampdbiz If you're aiming for 100% ownership, why not consider creating a faceless channel where AI is utilized to establish a brand, and set up a team to automate content creation? I'm also interested in your perspective on the differences between personal branding and a faceless channel. Isn't personal branding more effective in building strong trust relationships, leading to better engagement, higher conversion rates in sales, and increased attractiveness to sponsors?
I'd aim for majority ownership, maybe 100% isn't realistic as I need to partner up with A player experts in their field. But yes you're completely right, I feel personal brands is a lot easier because it's hours less editing (faceless you have to cover the ENTIRE video in engaging editing) also I reckon it's also easier to build up a connection with the audience and I like to think it's a USP in itself that the content I put out is always high effort. High input of effort = high output of results (generally, of course there is exceptions with successful faceless, quick AI channels but I believe they are only exceptions)
@@sampdbiz Thank you for your time, I now have a clearer understanding! However, I still don't see the benefit of having a partner. Wouldn't it be more effective to develop your own personal brand? Maybe you're considering a partner who specializes in a niche, allowing you to focus solely on strategy and editing? Since you prefer not having a team, you'd work with just one or possibly two partners, dedicating your efforts to growing the channel. But ultimately, this approach might not be scalable. At best, you could be the owner of a couple of TH-cam channels, investing a lot of effort without complete ownership. Isn't it better to develop your personal brand and invest all your efforts into a business that's entirely yours? Unless your goal is to avoid being the public face of the channel. Is that what you're aiming for?
Yeah that's a very valid point! I'd love to diversify ever so slightly because if one channel were to get falsely copyright striked, shadow banned, targeted by competitors or whatever and deleted, I'd be left with 0 income and just an email list. I've seen it happen a lot. So I guess having a few channels across a few niches would be a good way to diversify my risk slightly and once I've systemised it and built a little team, it'll almost be like investing into personal brands in the creator economy. (building a team for this would be different to building an agency team as because I own the brand, there's no tight deadlines) Maybe I'm being naive, but you're 100% right, I'll have to be very careful with my time to make it scaleable. I'll only take on the manual tasks like scriptwriting, video editing etc whilst the channel isn't generating any revenue, which should only be a few weeks at most. Then I can built the team and I can take more of a management position in managing a portfolio of personal brands.
Is there a way I can have one to one call with you? Or will i just get it in the course...BTW my name Is beka and I am on level 2. I want to level up G, so let me know if there's a way to contact!
