The shitty quality of the suede and lack of detail and discoloration could simply be because they cleaned them or they got wet, that can ruin the entire shoe especially an all suede shoe. I could easily believe that they got cleaned and ruined because the upper is messed up and real clean compared to the sole.

If you start refunding money, they open the doer for a floodgate of liars that replace real with fake and send them back. He’s probably telling the truth though.
