    The interaction with the locals is what we really like in your vlogs. We can really see your genuine appreciation for the people. Jackfruit = Langka in tagalog, yes we cooked it as a veggie, but I don’t like it haha..😁 Actually Palawan is still part of Luzon. It’s funny when she said Mega sardines, it is a local brand of canned sardines😂❤

    Young unripened Jackfruit (langka) is cooked in coconut milk as a side dish or main dish if meat/fish is added. In the US, it has become popular to vegans as substitute for pulled pork sandwich. Unfortunately, young jackfruit is rarely found in US stores. What's available is the mature fully ripe Jackfruit for eating fresh or used as an ingredient for Filipino dessert such as the halo-halo. Re the chicken feet, it is mostly bones, it is hard to eat it BBQ'd. Try it in Tinola just you know the texture of the meat vs. BBQ. And if Ann prepares it for you, you should vlog it.

    Kuya Jonathan, i want to say good job on your excellent work my brother! Most guys go the PI and film the bar girls and talk about their experiences dating, etc. You actually show a proper experience meeting the people and visiting all the beautiful places....even cooking the food and learning the language. I have a feeling you are doing "God's" work and you will be super naturally blessed in health, love AND your finances as well....THE KEY IS TO STAY HUMBLE.
    As a Filipino living here in Los Angeles, CA for waaaay too long, you make me miss home so much i am now making plans to return as soon as i can.

For all carenderias just open all each covers and take a look. The only thing if I own carenderia I would put the sign or what the dish called! So try more and feel more comfortably!! Be safe and have fun. Jackfruit if they cook it it has coconut milk in it some will add shrimp or chicken but mostly pork as well. Beef is expensive than those other meats. Always make sure food is cooked and hot!! That way food is safe! 🌶️ is added in bisayan dish for jackfruits.

  • @CB-jq7fe

    Cool vlog bro... btw... the jackfruit (unripe fruit used) kinilaw (raw) is basically cooked by vinegar mixed w/w.out coconut milk... similar to ceviche (lemon is used instead of vinegar...apple cider a healthy alternative)... the jackfruit is a substitute (for vege approach; you can also use heart of banana or heart of bamboo) for raw fish (ex... yellow fin tuna), octopus, conch. That carenderia mixed it with canned sardines! first I've heard bout it and i will try... to have my wife make it😊. Garlic, onions and ginger root are the basic... include small red chili or slender green chili for spiciness. Coconut milk to make it heaven.

      @@BillGreenAZ Hi Bill, I am back in the Philippines now. 10 pesos is 25 cents Canadian. 10 P is a lot for many people here. My return plane ticket to Canada was $3,000. If I can afford to be here, I can certainly afford helping people out in some small way. Besides, the smiles and goodwill goes a long way and it makes people here appreciate foreigners more. Win:win.

    • @BillGreenAZ
      @BillGreenAZ ปีที่แล้ว

      @@free2roam674 that's a great perspective! If someone can afford $3,000 plane fard, that person can certainly afford to give 10 or 25 pesos (25 to 60 cents) to someone who helped us out.
      Even here in the US, if someone goes out of their way to extend some help, even genuinely asking how my day is going, I will offer them $1 or $2. It may not seem like much but you should see how grateful most people are, especially those in the service industry. You see, it's more than just money. It's affirmation to them that they are worth something extra for what they are doing.

    Coconut milk jackfruit is best with rice or bread because sometimes they are a bit salty. Opening the food in the carenderia is ok(not rude).😎

    Gamay is bisaya.
    Reminds me of somebody who grew up in the US. When she moved back to the Philippines her 6th grade Filipino test in school were to name body parts and she mixed up Tagalog and Bisaya.
    That jackfruit dish is called ginataang langka. Ginataan, meaning with gata/coconut milk. I love eating that with fried fish.
    cue or que when you put banana or camote in a stick. Like barbeque.
