    What kind of a man leaves his sister and her children in abject poverty, depriving his sister of what’s rightfully hers, when he is so rich? It’s pure greed and evil.

      Women aren't any better. My grandmother hid her sister from her daughter and 2 generations later we learned about it.
      We have a family cousins uncles nephews that we never knew about simply because one woman didn't approve of her sister's husband !
      We were contacted a few years ago to know if we were interested in artifacts that a Museum no longer wanted to pay to keep in storage ????? We learnt about art that belonged to our family but had been kept from us.

    Interesting Canada Trust could not recover any documents that had to with Norma's share in the estate , but were able to find two documents with her signature. It would have been easy to match the signatures to other documents Norma would have signed during those years . The rules are set-up in favor of the wealthy banks . Hopefully on appeal the family will get their mother's inheritance.

    i support this family's quest for justice. George was so callous and greedy - what was the point of defrauding his own family only to run the company to the ground and subsequently give his estate away to acquaintances? He had no biological or adopted heirs - he could have at least attempted to right his wrong by leaving his estate to his sister and her children.

    It breaks my heart that the justice system has so far denied fairness to this family. Shame on the judge for not expecting the trust managers to notify their mother before the records were destroyed. Something needs to be done. For the judge to say, her mothers part was no more than $500,000 is not even logical who took those assets from the managed trust but the bank in fees. It sounds even criminal to me. I pray for justice still.

    Something similar happened on my mom’s side of the family only it was how my great-grandfather wrote his will. My great-grandfather owned a very successful paving business in California. My maternal grandmother was his oldest child. When my grandmother was in her late teens, my great-grandfather remarried and had a son and another daughter. When he died in the mid 60s, he left the business to his son and said my grandmother was to receive $250 a month for the rest of her life. Well, in the mid 60s, $250 was a decent amount of money but, as time went on, it obviously was worth less and less. If my grandmother had received a portion of the business, she wouldn’t have had to work so hard and so long (she was widowed twice by the late 1950s and never remarried).

    My great Uncle was the same way. His father's will divided the estate, even giving my grandfather a meadow that sat between the two farms. My grandfather got nothing, and neither did any of my great Uncles and Aunts. Only the one got it all. No one fought it, they just left the state. When my great Uncle sold the estate, he sold the meadow my grandfather was supposed to get out from under him. He sold 475 acres, plus three livable homes for $53,000 at auction and never told any other family members about it so they couldn't lay claim to the property. This was in the 1970's. I hope he is sitting somewhere real warm right now.

My wife's father built up a legacy of millions and his wife and son destroyed it through squandering on a 15 yr shopping spree which including selling 2 houses in the USA for which no money to date has been received. I come from a family of battlers yet understand what a legacy is all about it gives future generations the freedom to study or travel but not to waste a humans beings life-time of hard work. Well, I hate to say it, but the courts do need a “cut off date” for lawsuit’s. It’s too bad she’d kept these secrets from her adult kids, they MAY have been able to do something earlier when George was still alive. AND it could have been their mother pride or their dad’s pride, that she didn’t ask questions after her father died ~ especially when there was obviously PLENTY of money to go around. My former mother in law had a similar situation happen when her did died in Nova Scotia in the 60’s. Her dad owned a sawmill and a lumber company. When he died, her brother aimed to “get everything” AND did. He used a third siblings disability against her. Basically he told her he’d not look after this sibling and he’d have to go into care, IF she didn’t agree. So, being a somewhat simple minded woman, (about business) who wanted her brother to continue to live in the only home he’d ever lived in, she agreed to her older brother’s terms. Little did she realize, that after she’d signed documents “giving up” her share, he could have still placed the third sibling in care. Luckily, he held firm in his agreement, and looked after this third sibling. Particularly galling is my mum in law had had a child out of wedlock, and because her older brother had no children, her father and brother decided, the day after she’d given birth, that the “best thing” would be for her brother to take the baby and raise it as his own. Then he treated her like this. What a sheister!!

      @@dmsmiles4044You are second-guessing the wording of the FATHER'S will (not grandfather!! The 7 siblings had a mother whose FATHER owned the company and assets, and their mother was the one named in the will, and the mother was the one who brought forward the lawsuits). According to this video, the will named two children, a daughter and a son, with their names listed. You cannot get clearer that. You want to place the blame for all these inheritance troubles at the feet of the father by saying his will wasn't clear. Hogwash. If the father had had a crystal ball, he could have foreseen his son being a manipulative, greedy and deceptive heir, and those allied with rhe son being of the same fraudulent nature, and he could have saved everyone grief by not leaving his cheating son a red cent. Sadly, the father had no crystal ball. What he did have was a will with the names of his two offspring listed as heirs (apart from his wife having a life interest).

    • @cheetoesgal5229
      @cheetoesgal5229 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@dmsmiles4044Quit blaming the father for VERY clearly stating his son and his daughter as heirs in his will. The father, sans crystal ball, could not know that his son was a despicable, manipulative fraudster who cheated his sister out of her share, treated her despicably, ran the company into the ground, committed arson, etc etc.

    It may be partially driven by principle but in the end, it has nothing to do with legacy or principles it has to do with money.
