I can and quite often play Cthulhu Wars two or three times a month. Hell if I have the time every week. I still watch your videos on each faction and love how EVERY game we have played (since onslaught 1) is different. There is no fixed outcome, no hard and fast way to win, even if you play the same faction over and over. By far my most played game, and because of that, the best value for money! If you are on the fence... do it.. you will not regret owning this game!

Great overview of Cthulhu Wars value.
    ...counting down to OS3!!

Hard agree on the asymmetry reason. I already get a strange sense of enjoyment when picking a Monopoly piece or a GoT Risk color. Being able to pick factions with genuine differences besides color and design? Love it.

@@GreyWizardInsights I have not... Would the cthuhlu wars expansion by the same name have been useful as statues or something in that scenario?

    • @GreyWizardInsights

Maybe? Probably not. We did use the results of this Kickstarter though as props, it was all kinds of things that get real, including a statue, so maybe, but they tried to make everything seem real, not plastic: www.kickstarter.com/projects/482503977/masks-of-nyarlathotep-companion

I understand that a lot of time and effort was put into making this board game, but honestly I think it should not be worth $200. I know recently they dropped it down to $160 which in my opinion a more reasonable price.
The expansions are really what bug me the hell out. I recently was looking through Cthulhu Wars merchandise and I saw one of the expansions which was the Azathoth Expansion which was $280 almost $300. And for what you get (and yes I know there are some pretty sick figures in that expansion, but there are like 12 figures inside while Cthulhu Wars has like more than 50) it is a terrible deal. I reasonable price for me would probably be around $20 to $30. The only way I see an expansion being $280 is it having more miniatures than Cthulhu Wars along with a huge Cthulhu figure topped with all the figures being painted. That sounds more like $280.
Still one of my top favorite games. I usually just use the figures to do D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) role-playing, but some times my friends and I play the actual game. It also reminds me a bit about Risk.

Well Petersen Games doesn't sell the expansion for 280, Game scalpers do. Personally, I refuse to pay more than a reasonable MSRP for games, I'm a game player, not a collector, and I don't need a game that isn't available at a reasonable price, even if I want it. For the base game, whether its 200, 160, or 130 (which I saw it on Amazon closer to), I feel like its one of the biggest, heaviest games I own, what that is worth, I don't know, but I felt good at the 200 dollar mark that I originally bought it for.

@@GreyWizardInsights Agreed. I really just don't like spending money and then just leaving it on my shelf to look at and collect dust. Personally this game and Cthulhu: Death May Die are my top favorite Lovecraftian board games. I don't mind spending the money for the game like a $100, but I am not spending over $150 for a game. I just do it that way. Great video. Keep up the good work.

@@memesouls8653 just back the Kickstarters or go to there website and join the mailing list and get a notification when there is new stock but since Peterson games this small company they have to do small print runs. But between them the price of expansions can go high but it's a 2 side coin if you buy them during the kickstarter you can make that money reselling later. The base game is almost always available at MSRP
