You are quickly becoming one of my favorite plant youtubers, i absolutely love these backstories & the way you make botanical knowledge accessible to those of us who may not know the lingo just yet!!
Unless the check was big, I feel like working for someone else would take the fun out of it. I like being my own boss and making these docs the way I want to make them. I can go off script and be a little silly, opinionated, even swear if I want, and no one can fire me😌☕️
The carlablackiae has been on my list for a while. I really enjoy these videos for their information and I love seeing the plants in their natural habitat.
Absolutely fabulous video! I know how much work goes into this level of editing, and the contributions from Carla Black really take it to a whole new level! Good stuff!! 😀😀🌱🌱🌱
You are an amazing storyteller, Jake! Thank you for producing this video. I’ve been looking for this very specific video on carlablackiae’s discovery and you delivered. 👏
Such a fascinating story about perhaps one of the best looking anthuriums we have known. And the narration made this story even more interesting!! Great work!!
I absolutely love your story telling and it is very educational especially, with going down the anthurium rabbit hole. I just love the solace the plants bring me and I enjoy providing their care.
@ I live in a wonderful place Turrialba, close to a volcano area y lots of mountain area, summer rayne did a a video in “el catie” if I’m not mistaken, love leaving here ! Lots of orchids and aracea in general growing everywhere!
Another wonderful video!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and doing all the work that I'm sure goes into such comprehensive information.
Much appreciated! These videos usually take only a few days to a week to make. But this video has been months in the making cuz I wanted it to be perfect.
Dude, u nailed it again!! Go on with this stuff, I need this shit more often 😫😭 love your videos, especially this type ones! Do u also ship stuff from ur shop to Germany, dude? 🤙🏽
Cześć. Jestem zauroczony tym Twoim najnowszym filmem. Super głos, super narracja i historia związana z Carla Blackiae. Serdecznie pozdrawiam z Polski. Serdecznie Pozdrawiam i życzę Powodzenie w Nowym Roku. Jurek Borowy :)
❤❤❤ I Effin luv it when you do the informational videos Jake. I could listen to them on repeat. If you had a podcast I’d be addicted. 👁️❤️this videooooooo!!!!!! #JakeIsTheEffinMan🪴🪴🪴❤️❤️❤️
The podcast would have to be HEAVILY edited. Because these 10 minute doc videos are actually just the good takes out of 30-60 minutes of me clearing my throat, messing up then proceeding to say FUCK, cussing at my noisy neighbors, and swatting away the occasional gnat.😂
Always the best. I love my Carlas! A women going into that narco territory? Bad ass. She stuck a few in her backpack in Peru and hiked around for days and I panic when it ships in 3 pounds of stuffing. Kinda sad we buy them for $300 and those people have nothing.
Some may be, especially those with foul smelling inflos, but according to Tom Croat Anthuriums are primarily pollinated by Euglossa. That being said, there’s been very little observation of this, and even some botanists have claimed to see hummingbirds and moths visit anthurium inflos. So it’s probably a community of pollinators.

I appreciate those kind words very much🙏
This is amazing!
You should be hired by National Geographic or Discovery Channel.

I love these videos! It gives me great respect to realize how we came to have these amazing plants in our homes.
Yes! There’s so much to appreciate!😁
Amazing discovery! ❤️❤️❤️
The carlablackiae has been on my list for a while. I really enjoy these videos for their information and I love seeing the plants in their natural habitat.
I'm glad you like these videos😊

Thank you! Carla really elevated this one with her storytelling (much of what I said was her exact words).
You are an amazing storyteller, Jake! Thank you for producing this video. I’ve been looking for this very specific video on carlablackiae’s discovery and you delivered. 👏
I appreciate that very much🙏
Such a fascinating story about perhaps one of the best looking anthuriums we have known.
And the narration made this story even more interesting!! Great work!!
I’m so glad she had photos to share!
Amazing, love this style of video Jake!
This was absolutely fantastic
I absolutely love your story telling and it is very educational especially, with going down the anthurium rabbit hole. I just love the solace the plants bring me and I enjoy providing their care.
You have the right mindset. Anyone who clout chases plants ends up crashing, so you gotta grow what you love and love what you grow😌
yay we're learning today!!! 💚💚 love it😊
Loved it!
Yes yes and yes this is content

OMG I just love, love this video.😍😍😍😍
☺️
Thanks for making so detailed educative plant videos 🫶 warm greetings from Costa Rica 🏳️🌈🌴🏝️🏡
Costa Rica is on my list of places to travel to see aroids! Where in the country do you live? Have you gone on any hikes and seen any cool plants??
@ I live in a wonderful place Turrialba, close to a volcano area y lots of mountain area, summer rayne did a a video in “el catie” if I’m not mistaken, love leaving here ! Lots of orchids and aracea in general growing everywhere!
I’ll look into that area to see what I can potentially find! I definitely wanna see Anthurium scherzerianum when I go to Costa Rica😍
Amazing contributions as usual! Thanks for the brilliant content💚
Appreciate it!

Glad you enjoy them! I enjoy making them😁
Another great video with great content! Thanks.
My pleasure!
Love this Jake!!! I finally have some history behind the name! Keep them coming! I get so confused over the Anthurium names.
It’s amazing how much you can unpack in a name😃
Hey Jake, this documentary was very entertaining. You are a good story teller indeed!
I appreciate that!
Yesssssssssss! LOVE the docs! Keep it up Jake. They're getting better and better!
Aw shucks!😚
Another wonderful video!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and doing all the work that I'm sure goes into such comprehensive information.

@plantgayforlife it's very thorough, and all the footage was fun to watch! You really have a skill set here. And growing plants, of course.
Loved this!
Dude, u nailed it again!! Go on with this stuff, I need this shit more often 😫😭 love your videos, especially this type ones!
Do u also ship stuff from ur shop to Germany, dude? 🤙🏽
Thanks! More docs to come! And yes my merch shop ships internationally😁I just don’t ship live plants internationally.
I am glad I got one Carla recently here in India 😊
Glad you found one!
Your documentaries are the bomb
Thx!😎💣

Would love to add this one to my collection! 😊
They’re beautiful and pretty easy to grow
I'm here for it lol let's go
Is that something you would be interested in doing or is it something you’d have to go to school for?
I have no interest in becoming a botanist. I just love growing plants and exploring nature.
@ Ah I think you mentioned that before in a video
I much prefer making TH-cam videos and music:)
conflicted on this one and the elitist collectors who gatekeep it as if they discovered it alongside carla herself.
Yeah anthurium bros love to flex their garage-grown leaves
exactly 😆 if I photograph this one with no lights on in my garage, see how black and velvety it is 😂
She is my wish….that doesn’t have anything to do that my name is Carla 😂😂😂
That’s a bonus!!!
Always the best. I love my Carlas! A women going into that narco territory? Bad ass. She stuck a few in her backpack in Peru and hiked around for days and I panic when it ships in 3 pounds of stuffing. Kinda sad we buy them for $300 and those people have nothing.
Plants are resilient and so are the people who discover and collect them in the wild!
First to like!

@ Ah ok. Thanks for the information
