It’s a tragedy you don’t have massive following and views. Your documentary type videos are incredible quality and has proper useful information. I have watched your how to care for anthurium videos so many times. And I have switched to drain-less glass jar setup for anthurium for all of my anthuriums. They are all thriving and made my life so much easier on maintenance. Never stop making videos!
@@plantgayforlife I hope so! You should start a patreon! I would love to be your patron to support your content (especially the history of a species and anthurium care). I might not be able to contribute a lot but I am sure your patrons will grow as the channel grows.
Appreciate it! Side note, we should start calling it Golden Plant😅 or if epipremnum is too much of a mouthful what about calling the plant Aureum? Like as a common name? A Home Depot / garden center name. I’m just riffin don’t mind me
I agree with what another commenter says, it is a shame & a shock that you don’t have a bigger following. Your work is really well thought out, put together & edited. Your narration is brilliant & humorous. I really love watching your videos. I save up a few and then binge watch them together. Keep up the hard work, it’s so appreciated. I know you will end up with a huge following eventually, because your channel is excellent & artistic .
I appreciate your kind words! Sharing the video with your plant friends always helps. Also buying merch from my shop is a great way to support me if you enjoy my work. Thanks for watching my videos🙏😄
Also love your docuseries, they're very well crafted and a treat to watch when I feel like learning and relaxing at the same time. I think that actual pothos make interesting terrarium/vivarium plants, especially Pothos pugnax which you've featured in this video. I'd never heard of it but I'll definitely get one if I ever find one available. I just checked my favourite seller's stock and it turns out he has more than I thought, he doesn't have pugnax but he has Pothos barberianus which is very similar. The leaves' innervation reminds me of some Anthuriums!
Never knew any of this information and I thank you so much and I have been sharing your channel and will continue. I would like to see you with over one hundred thousand before end of year . I have my goal and your worth it . ❤❤❤😊 love you
@plantgayforlife your most welcome babe I felt I needed to give back for giving me so much . I just can't listen to one more message about politics which I have followed always but in the past almost 10 years has made me physically sick. It can be addictive and you are here to give me positive information I'm much more interested in you have come along for the health of many . Don't know what else to say . Your videos are a treasure.
Cebu is pronounced seh-boo, not see-boo. Didn’t mean to sound rude, because I’m not trying to be. I love your channel! Epipremnum is my favorite genus of species in the plant world. Thanks for sharing this!!! You rock! I’ve been telling people that it’s not a pothos, it’s Epipremnum for so long (since the plantdemic). At least someone with a big following (that’s growing) is planting that seed in the minds of plant addicts in the west. You are a true plant person/collector.
Thanks for the clarification! I’m usually very thorough when it comes to trying to get name pronunciations right but I totally missed that one. I guess I’m just so used to hearing the plant name pronounced with a long vowel. And thanks for the kind words!
🍀☮️ I love the E. aureum cultivars! My favourite are the Teruno World, specifically Champs Elysees & Lovesong. I’m a sucker for weird plants, and those strange cup-like growths behind each leaf is no exception. They’re growing up Sydney-Pantguy-mosspoles, so we’ll see how long they’ll take to pinnate. I love your docuseries, you’ve a great voice for it. 💚🎶
Nice video, great research and beautifully presented, I love your educational content! I did know that E aureum is not a true pothos but hadn't seen the true species in such detail, I wish they were more readily available to collectors, I think they're fabulous! Love the flattened petioles, how cool is nature!!
I live in a rural village in the Philippines in just few walks from our backyard into the jungle you will find Pothos scandens and Epipremnum pinnatum hugging trees. In my mother tongue, we refer to Pothos scandens as "kurukandila" because it looks like a candle and sometimes "uru-ulalaypan" because it also looks like a centipede. Great video!
Please, make a documentary about Araceae's flowers! From the world's smallest flower (Wolffia) to the largest unbranched inflorescence in the world (Amorphophallus titanum)
I look forward to your short documentaries. They're informative and digestible. The real pothos look primitive to me. I hope people continue to not want to collect them.
I feel like we should leave the science to the geeks, and I say that with all the love in the world. I feel like if you're an at home keeper the only reason you would get this pedantic about the name is if you want to be that person.... Oh you all know that person.. The "well actually" person. We are all that person from time to time, not too much shame but ya. As a keeper, all I care about is how do I keep this hoe glowin and what corner can I stuff it in, I got too much. but good ass video love the background :P
I hear you. On one hand, a name is just a name…a made up word we assigned to something. On the other hand, if botanists go to all this trouble differentiating and naming species and organizing them into genera, families, etc, does it even matter if we are going to misname plants. I think it can go both ways and I see validity in each side of the argument
Note: Someone let me know I mispronounced Cebu. It's actually pronounced like "sebu" with a short e.
Awesome vid!

This may have been my favorite documentary of yours so far! You made epipremnum cool again, which made me want a true POTHOS. 🎉
I love to hear that☺️🙏I hope people enjoy videos of the common plants as much as the rare ones!
Wow Jake! Even more mysteries unlocked than I realized. Best plant Geek out ever!!!!😻
Full of twists and turns like a soap opera!😆
Definitely love the plant stories. Keep these coming!
Thanks! Will do!
Stunning visuals. I love these informational videos 💚.
Thanks! 💚
Loved this video, so interesting to get a background story to such a common plant! Thank you!
Thx! Some stories are just way too fascinating to overlook!
"Golden...plant". Thanks for the research, Jake! And I love the Mona Lisa comparison. Spot on.

Fascinating. This needs thousands of views.

Fantastic Jake! I loved this one like all of them. You are so fantastic at this somehow we have to push this out to more people!
I appreciate that! Sharing it on social media can help more people discover it:)
These documentaries are sooooo good...thanx for the work that it takes to make them....I love learning something new !!!!
Glad you're enjoying them!

Yeah! Very cool terrarium plants that can provide some filler for that cheerleader effect! And barb is a neat looking one
Great video, Jake!! I am learning so much from these type of videos. I just got my sweatshirt today and can vouch for the excellent quality 🙌🏻
Glad you're enjoying the videos and the merch! Thank you so much for supporting me ❤️

They’re definitely cool and quirky plants for sure!
I've seen one flower ONCE here living in Florida. But it was so far up in a tree i couldn't get a good look at it.
It’s amazing how rare their flowers are!
Once again an excellent and educational documentary.

i really like the true one! Does it grow in an aquarium as well?
They are not aquatic plants. But they grow very well in terrariums
@@plantgayforlife aww thats a shame, though explains why they aren't that popular
Thought it was Sir. Attenborough for a sec.

Good idea! Maybe the anatomy of aroid flowers?
8:10 That's not 'Jade'. 'Jade' is all green.
oopsie
But what about epipremnum jade. Isn't the golden “pothos” a variety of jade “pothos” and jade was before golden?
If you have an online source to back up your claim I’d be happy to take a look!
I need to get a lemon pothos I have a lemon lime philodendron and they will be sisters 😂
A matching set!
