    Don't feel like you can't homeschool if your day doesn't look like this. Our "homeschool" day lasts less than an hour. We don't have a formal classroom. They have lots of time to explore their own interests. I've graduated 4 with one to go, doing it this way. You really learn over time what is important and what you can let go.

    For us it depends on how the kids moods are. Normally we break school up some in morning and some in afternoon. Usually Thursday’s and Fridays were done with school by 10:30am. Monday -Wednesday we are normally done by 1:30pm with a 2 hour break in between, we usually start school anywhere from 7:45am-8:30am

    Hello from Austria! :) I've been watching your videos for a while now and I love how loving you teach your little girls. I have three kids aged 2, 6 and 7 years and we officially homeschool since last autumn. so it's my first year and we're kind of improving our system every month. But meanwhile everything is going very well for us. We're trying new things every week, like starting an online typing or drawing course or using apps for extra school practice. There are some quite funny learing apps to use for the kids, especially since all this crazy stuff started. That also keeps it fun. We start our school day around half past 8 or 9 in the morning and most of the days just go through everything in one slide, have a tiny snack while learning and finish around half past 11 to 12. then it's lunch, relax and play and have fun for the rest of the day. a lot of reading we do in the late afteroons or evenings, when everyone starts to feel a little tired. then we snuggle on the couch and one of the bigger kids or me reads a story to everyone. I love that.
    I want to thank you, for inspireing and encouraging me so many times during the last years. At least you're one of the reasons I started homeschooling. And there couldn't have been a better moment to start.
    All the best! Tina and family ☘️

    We have timed our school day recently. To do primer/kindergarten and 1st grade and all subjects and extras it takes us between 2-2 1/2 hours. It depends on their attitudes and need for breaks and such too. That doesn’t include our sons extra therapies either.

    Having white board and desk-chair, it seems bringing classroom environment to home. Its okay. But I guess, homeschool can be as relax as it can be, let say, studying on the couch, or kitchen table. Or at the carpet. This is just my opinion.

      @@BrittanyLynnHomeschool Sitting at a desk seems to flip a switch in my son's mind. He's 4.5 so sitting at the desk means it's time to get to work and not play. Your kids actually sit still. Mine wiggles and has a hard time staying on task if I'm not right there. The desk seems to be a cue to help ground him. We do our reading lessons in the kitchen because we use magnetic letters but with anything else he'd be hard to keep still.

    Such a nice structured learning. I'm definitely learning a lot. My daughter is doing grade 5, we do about 4 hours of school I would say 3-4 days of the 5 days. We also start around 09:30, strictly 09:30 she has an online class until 10:00 then I give her a stretch break which she usually declines most of the time so we work from 10:00 and give her a 30 minutes break from 11:00-11:30 then we work until 13:00/13:30 it depends on what subjects we're doing. We don't leave staff unfinished. If we're close to the end of unit we hang on until we are done so that next time we don't have to start with revision as I find she sometimes need a reminder when we used to leave things off because of time. Now it's the beginning of autumn in South Africa, it gets really cold I'm still trying to figure out how will we break or what activities she can do being the only child. She enjoys playing on her own but I know she wouldn't mind another playmate it's sad sometimes when I think about it. Great video as always.

In fact, "if you're wasting your playtime..." is an effective deterent when he starts goofing off. He's 4.5 but still, we've been doing this since he was 3 so no excuses. • @CheckeredGreen
      @CheckeredGreen 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      -ed is taught in phonics as a separate ending. Kids get confused and will add ed and then make the word (for example) stripeed instead of striped, if they aren't taught to drop the sneaky e

    • @vanessakeen8660
      @vanessakeen8660 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The silent e is dropped for other suffixes like “ing” so it is more consistent to teach it this way.

    Hi!! I have a question for you that is truly weighing on my heart. I have two little girls 4 & 2. I decided this past year that I am going to homeschool them. I have the support from my entire family, while I know my husbands family will be very unsettled to hear what I plan to do. I’m not knocking anyone’s lifestyles, but in my husbands family, he has many nieces and nephews who have been doing activities such as competition dance team or gymnastics, daycare and preschool, anything you can think of from anywhere between ages 2 & 3. Very socialized children from a very, very young age. My girls have always been a little bit more shy, especially my older daughter. I was shy as a child, and my husband was shy as a child, and he still is as an adult. My in laws are not too thrilled about my children being shy as it is, and are constantly telling me what I NEED to do in order to “fix” it.....I’m VERY nervous to tell them about my wanting to home school my kids. Any and all advice would be appreciated.

    • @franny5295
      @franny5295 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My in laws are/ were concerned about my homeschooling my now 4.5 year old. He's reading on a first grade level and has been killing it on a pedal bike since Christmas last year. They're so proud of how "advanced" (I know it's just because he's been exposed to more) he is that they're not as concerned about it. And I've already made it clear that he'll be homeschooled until he's ready for college or trade school. The good thing about this pandemic mess is it didn't affect his schooling and there are families that aren't worried about covid so he can still play. We've already gotten sick with the original and at least one variant so at this point we're either immune or there's no such thing. Some people are just naturally shy and there's nothing wrong with that. They're shy at school too. I was a really quiet kid. I read a lot and kind of stayed to myself. I'm still quiet, read a lot and keep my circle small. Even though I'm quiet natured I get my point across very effectively and establish healthy boundaries where I need to. She'll be fine unless you try to "fix" her.

      Hey... Congrats on ur decision👍 I have the same issue.. just started homeschooling this year and in-laws were doubtful.. But my husband supports me, so I TRY not to listen to anyone else’s point of view.. VERY CHALLENGING BUT U HAVE TO BE STRONG‼️ They are worried and perhaps they don’t know anyone who has homeschooled?? So, you will be the first one‼️‼️‼️ Just STAY POSITIVE AND DON’T give them too many details on ur homeschooling life right now.. Until u feel fully ready to answer any question or comment.. IT’S U GUYS AGAINST THE WORLD!! Make sure ur husband and kids are ALWAYS ON THE SAME PAGE✨✨make a family huddle time or give ur self’s a funny.. cute.. team name.. Ex: “THE INCREDIBLES” ok.. Are you all religious? Is there a certain Bible study you do with the girls? I’m trying to find one for my son that he would really appreciate and understand!

      We all do things differently, isn't that the beauty of homeschooling? Doing what works best for your family in the season you're in?

    “Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world. He did not send him to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭3:16-17‬ ‭ERV‬‬
    Turn to Christ and repent for He loves you and wants to have a relationship with you 💕
