I've never played on Turtle WoW but got this video recommended, absolutely fantastic video and piqued my interest to give the server a try! Seems like a great community!
The more I hear about turtle wow, makes me want to play it more and more. Blizz is sooo disappointing now a days. They put skeleton crews on everything, and make trash. They need to hire the private server people and allow them to do their thing...
@@RandyRadium I have personally never had that many issues. Players on turtle are not more toxic than players on other pservers. People in general are very helpful even if world chat is meme city. Plenty of good, chill guilds too. Worst thing that can happen is getting a chinese tank in a LBRS run. Good luck explaining candle skip to that guy.
I had fun for a while in early 2023 on Turtlewow but could never quite get into it longterm. The old vanilla client is rough compared to the more modern Classic one. But not playing any MMO atm so maybe it's time to check it out again.

Whatever you make is quality anyway, but of course I’d rather have this top quality once per month than you quitting and have nothing at all 😄 And btw thanks for promoting Tel’Abim. It became so lonely leveling there that I went back to Nordranaar recently. I’ve been on twow since 2021, but played Tel’Abim since that launched.
So much good stuff is coming to Turtle WoW. I'm excited for the updated and new dungeons and maybe my PC will even be able to handle the graphics update.
The worst part about turtle is that it is built upon a 1.12.1 client. The client simply just feels clunky on modern hardware and it wouldn't surprise me if 7th of July was when they announced what the Turtle WoW 2.0 was meant to be. The visual overhaul will bring another large wave of interested to the game. But a client overhaul from a stability perspective would be amazing.

The reason all the fish prices are continuing to rise is due to market manipulation stacked upon insane demand, and tactical injections of stock into the market. For the rest of you, Oily blackmouths and firefins will always be a good source of early income, and nightfin snappers is probably the highest gold/hour at a low level if you can find yourself with the right fishing gear, and find yourself in moonglade. Good luck everyone. Also stop burning temporary armor potions and the market will go down in price.

Something that just popped into my head. With the graphic overall, do you think this could mean "darker nights" might be built into the game (or at the very least toggleable)?
I really, really, hope this is an optional update that comes as an addon. Because a graphics overhaul could filter me. I find the old graphics extremely comfy and nothing in any other game compares to it. If they change it, ill feel forced out of the server for good
When the first teaser came out team reps did say it'll be a toggle, and the server does have stats on what computer hardware is currently on the server. I doubt the team wants to lose people that badly so chances are you'll be safe.
I actually agree about that as well I think the problem for the turtle team has been dealing with a client and this might be their best way to approach it, my basic understanding is that a lot of these effects are something you can toggle.

Turtle has been around since 2018, and has had higher populations than it does currently. I guess we'll see, but IIRC where TWOW is hosted is nowhere a C&D has enough sway to be effective.
Best server by far No joke..best server of all, not only classic. Playing here 4 years ago. With some pauses but once i tested turtle i left nostalrius, kronos, elysium

@@VrogragFishslayer If the Turtle team somehow actually managed to introduce a dynamic lighting system and get upscaled textures to not crash a 30 year old engine engine with 4 GB RAM limit (after tweaks) trough some techno voodoo, the people working there could easily get six digit salaries in any of the big gaming companies. Whatever witchcraft they used to make this thing work, I can't wait to try it out.
Ive played on turtle for about a year now. Its ok, but its made me appreciate regular vanilla even more. Fully progressed with people raid logging in full bis, half chinese / hardcore players, tmog, tbc mounts, etc all cheapens the experience. I almost uninstalled immediately when I saw the cloud mount. I kept playing bc it was the only decent option. This update just put the nail in the coffin for me.
Fishing will only downturn when the population does, I've said it before and I'll say it again but fishing prices are a good basis on the server's health
I started not long ago and it feels fine, tons of people leveling in all of the zone and I can always find a fella to quest with. Also did all the low level dungeons while leveling.

Currently using a 10 year old pc; no choice at the moment, so I'm hoping this graphical upgrade won't cause an issue. I get well over 120 fps, dropping to 40 in a busy Stormwind. If the graphical overhaul is too intensive we may well see a player count drop.
Anything is possible but I know the team is aware of their user's hardware and the "new graphics" will be some kind of a toggle I guess, so it might not be so dire.
Stupid question why is this not being shutdown and is allowed to run so many other private servers have been shutdown by Blizz, always wanted to jump into this version of wow but always worried all that progress will be lost due to Blizz shutting it down
Little while has been around since 2018 I believe, blizz hasn't been able to shut it down because of having servers that don't listen to CND's from the US. Plus they have many back ups and redundancies.
@@VrogragFishslayer what you getting per hour there? When I searched up Twow database they state that Azshara is the best with 17% and second is Tanaris. However I fished every zone in Azshara at day and night time and the highest yield I got was 13% over 500 fish caught. This was using fishing buddy addon and avoiding pools for data collection. Also, do you like to nightfin fish?
@@Black_Kakari what you don't realize is that in hyjal you can get double procs of fish, and it happens with some regularity. Plus elemental water, fire fin, black mouth, essence of water all can double proc. Makes better gold over all imo
I really enjoy these videos. but I run Linux and even though Linux has been able to run WOW for years without any issues. For some reason since the patch from 1.12 to 1.17 it can't run it, and I have no idea why? I was told by a turtle GM that they don't support Linux. If anyone has any ideas pls let me know. TY Players will have no clothes on them and be named as unknown, and you can't log out or quit.

Twow is full of some of the worst players imaginable, almost as bad as Warmane jajas. Good for rp, terrible for everything else.

Yeah and for years the line has always been, we don't have the man power to make it happen... Maybe with last year's boom they got those resources.

Nothing official has come out but I see no other way to get these visuals without either HEAVY client modifications or a custom one.

I think this isn't as much lighting as much as something with the client going on, I'll be looking into this.

Freshest is Tel'abim, and overall the turtle team seems to not like catering to the fresh chasing crowd historically.
From my understanding of the server's playerbase, it's never too late to join. There's a lot of laid back people who welcome newcomers.

As always ask around in the main discord in the support channel, I know people that run the latest client on linux, so it may be a simple fix.
