I think they have a lot of life left in them. Atleast another 10 years. I think merseyrail are putting the 777s in to fast and will regret just getting rid of these. They should be kept on the west kirby or new brighton line, or even at chester. Its insane that they are not preserving or keeping any of these in a museum or for special occasions especially since they are the oldest running EMU/Passenger trains currently in service. These trains are history and they are just being thrown away.
The final Class 508 operation since 1979 after 44 years in service sadly is going to be withdrawn stock all Class 508 to scrapped and not to be saved or even survived and even non to be preserved. The Class 777 battery electric trains stock now operation in service which will replace the class 507 and class 508 is no more
Bring them back the 777s arnt up to the job winscreen wipers hanging off over crowding and the doors wint close this is progress progress 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 we carnt even make working winscreen wipers 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I do agree that we need to perserve at least one of them for museums, and I think some groups are making an effort to do that.
