Overall we raised £11,508 for charity, an amazing sum during an amazing day out, hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
That's a brilliant amount raised, well done to everyone that put a lot of hard work making this such a success. The 502 group also had a good day with our sales stand & we thoroughly enjoyed the day. Thanks for having us along
@@Merseywail On to the 507 farewell, we've got a date in mind but obviously we're keeping it in house for the time being, more info will be released in due course :)
I wish I'd known this was happening! 😢
Sorry you missed it. Keep an eye on the Branch Line Society website. Probably the final 507 tour will be sometime in April or May next year
the 507 tour is in september
I was so upset I couldn’t buy tickets for this, hopefully i can for the 507 tour!
Get in quick when it's announced. I have no doubt it will sell out fast
Great day! We were sat just behind the 502 preservation society and you caught me in a couple of shots in the background! It was a brilliant day and so much was raised!
It was a great day indeed. Will be another albeit sad final one next year . Hopefully will will be there again
We have a date for the Class 507 farewell tour: Sunday 12th May 2024.
EDIT: The tour has been postponed, a new date will be announced when we have a confirmed date.
All being well I will be on it
@@Merseywail Tour postponed, we'll announce a new date when we've got confirmation
Hi Paul, we met briefly on the train when you were selling 502 merch. I was on coach F sitting next to Joel and was with the window cleaning crew at 3:18. I had no idea you ran this channel!
Great to have met you!
Thanks. Yes that was me. You can see now why I don't appear in front of the camera, I might crack the lens lol. Our sales went well & we all had a great day, as did everyone I imagine.
Great video as always Paul 👌
Thanks it was a good day, & happy things turned out alright for you in the end ,we all were
Great video. The 508 was newly introduced when I left. I thought they looked flimsy in comparison with the 503/2s and there were problems initially with them, so it's strange to think that they've be missed in turn as they reach the end of their working lives. thanks always love your vids.
Even though they have been round for over 40 years I still think of them as the new stock. You're right when you said they looked flimsy . I didn't think much of the when they came in . But over the years I have grown to like them & will miss them. Before the final 507s are withdrawn I will have to do a video all about the PEPs history on Merseyrail
That would be ace MW, Look forward to it.@@Merseywail
4:31 looks like a familiar sight of 777010 crashing into the buffers at Rock Ferry lol
Yes that's where the 777 collision was. Been plenty of 507/ 508 mishaps over the years, it happens
First accidents happened at least around 5-10 years after introduction unlike the 777s
I wonder if Francis from tick tok was on the tour
I don't know, there was a lot on both the train & the lineside
I will miss them so much as well the Class 507. Since the Class 777 have entered service.
We all will Andrew, they have been a familiar part of Merseyside's transport scene for 45 years. It will be a sad day when the last one departs the network
Indeed 😢
When do all 508s and 507s finish leaving meresyrail?
No definite date as yet though it's looking like it could be end of April to mid may 2024. All depends on driver training, fleet fault free running & some extra track & platform works
When do they leaves?
@@calvinliu6304 next year, probably gone by May, but you never know
December 2023 for the 508's, we don't have a date//month for the 507's though
Great video
Thanks Paul, it was a good day, & we raised a good amount for the 502 restoration
