Hey Ghib, wanna ask did you need to ask permission from the SMRT officers there to film so long inside MRT station? Coz SG gov usually take security at MRT quite serious. Genuinely curious.
You're sooooo funny. Like really. I came to SG last September, still have so many areas to visit and now, one more thanks to you ! I do enjoy a lot your videos. Thank you for your time and energy ! Greetings from France !
"The air con is amazing" - ghib, ponggol coast mrt station. Yes, because no one's there to use it 😂 That said, guess i have a new place to check out this weekend.
I heard that punggol coast MRT station uses District Cooling System (DCS) which is cooling and more energy efficient, 30% lesser in energy consumption compared to typical buildings. 🐻❄❄
9 years earlier, there was a YT TEDx-talk "How we design and build a smart city and nation by Cheong Koon Hean." She touched on Punggol township planning.
My son moved there last October. Its a 10min walk from his home to the PC mrt stn. We are all very excited for this new facility. Thank you for this amazing video!
I really love your content as a Singaporean because I rarely get the opportunities to explore these areas as I'm so busy! Thank you for making these videos.
im glad you enjoy the plaza and the space, i was involved in the initial space design way back, you should come back at night when it's officially open
Ghib: Singapore winter is finally over, hence it is hot. Not even a week later, the skies has fallen and will continue to be for the next few days and its been colder than my aircon.
Hi Ghib,, thks for the info zehi zehi will go when it open, but maybe wait abit becoz it will be crowded.. oh yah Ghib i alrdy asked my Family to order the CNY osake.. will kampai during the CNY i cant wait 😅,, Huat Ah Ghib,, 🍶👍😇😎
Cool man! It's very nice and not crowded, I mean where in Singapore can you find such serenity? Nice landscape, well-paved walkways! No worries give it 1 year and you will see the crowd.
Thanks for the feature Ghib! Punggol Coast now brings us closer to Coney Island which is beautiful. At the Foodgle you visited, there’s an American Cuisine, NomStop, opened by the alumni of Culinary Institute of America (CIA), a programme hosted by SIT. We tried their lobster roll and seafood boil, and they were both flavourful and great for their prices.
Space is kind of massive... not too sure what the space looks like when the building fully operates. But looking forward to the hawker centre as the current coffee shop opposite Punggol Point Cove is a bit too expensive and not enough seats. By the way, where is that foodgle hub located?
Cut down on cars n bikes. Its still good. Even if trains breakdown often.. Still its runs almost 24 hr. Of course it will breakdown every now and then. But more mrt route is better. So one down, there are another mrt way to get to the place that we need to go. Rather than the shuttle bus. 😅💀
Don't worry about the fire alarm in tower 86 hahaha. I've been studying in the punggol campus since it opened last autumn and the alarm goes off every few days. I think it's to make sure it works
I actually passed by the area some time before it opened Aside from that uhh I did consider although its kinda out there a bit Aside from that the next year or two (or three?) is gonna be interesting, mostly next year I think Still some time to go I think it was not that long ago the video of punggol itself A strange one for sure When I went there I think some of the buildings and what not are still under construction so it might be a year or two before they are done Sometimes I wonder how the places looked like many years ago I guess just empty land? I think most if not all the other stations usually they are built into the existing buildings While here it seems more like they build the station first and then the buildings are built around the station Not 100% sure of the timeline since all these things take very long Apparently theres even gonna be a new bus interchange
"Sebei ulu" and "boh lang" are the correct Sgporean terms to use. Another "niao bu sheng dan" sad place with nothing in sight. Question is when will the retail shops and F&Bs open? Come back again next year to do a proper review.
Les goooo, time for a new weekend trip Edit: MOM, I GOT PINNED OR WHATEVER, I’M FAMOUSSSSSSSs Edit 2: well now Ik if u edit ur comment u lose the pin. Sad
0:23 Lucky you caught the first generation C751A train. This train won't be lasting any longer to go to Punggol Coast as all of them will be fully refurbished by end of this year or 2026.
Lovely planning and design. BUT hate the trend towards open air malls (Star Vista etc). While I understand the need to reduce our carbon footprint etc, we need to do this in moderation. Singapore is a tropical island that sees an average of 80% humidity each year. This makes it extremely uncomfortable to sit or hang out in sheltered but open air malls such as these, for anything over an hour. Forget about leisurely browsing like one would do at an airconditioned mall. Other than food retailers having customers during meal times or private schools conducting various kinds of lessons, most other retailers will see less business than their counterparts at an air conditioned mall. (Understandably, the rental will be higher too). Personal (unpopular) opinion here: The mall developers are probably the happiest folks with the development of this trend as they save a ton of money from construction to maintenance to electricity bills, when they exclude air-conditioning for the most part of their malls. Well, I'm voting with my wallet: avoid going to such malls unless there is a critical errand. This is Singapore. Hot lei. What's next? Replacing air-conditioning with fans at our workplaces, hotels and lecture theatres in the name of sustainability? That'll be fun to see.
Billion dollar insight - Singapore collaborate with Japan to install BOSS iced bottled (not canned) coffee vending machines in national or global university campuses, schools, high schools, junior colleges, office buildings, police stations, government buildings, places with security guards on night shifts, hospitals, and construction sites (places where people are time poor and have to meet deadlines), and communicate via advertising, social media and TH-cam that the pivotal benefit of the vending machine is to save time from queuing and squeezing with the crowds to buy a cup of hot coffee to drink in hot weather (don’t make sense). Time saved can go towards max out senior management profits where the workers convert low value wasted time spent in queuing into working, learning or recovery (higher value) times. The vending machines have inbuilt weight sensors linked to e-data sim that alert the BOSS coffee teams to replenish the vending machines when stock is low. A marketing campaign can be launched where members via their phone BOSS coffee app can earn enough reward credits to redeem one free BOSS coffee - subject to 1 bottle free per day per account.
0:15 Goodwill feedback. People are getting poorer, overworked and stressed. Not a good political or media move to place two scenes next to each other where scene 1. Enthusiastic (a lot of people) people chanting to open new MRT station, scene 2. alleged Monkeys enthusiastic about the new opening of the MRT station. Some people will associate and think that you offensively infer that Singaporeans, Singapore or Singapore government are monkeys. Consider taking some media studies, EQ courses and learning about troll behaviours and cultural studies to identify the hidden meaning behind certain media and don’t just take words, text, photos, conversations or videos at face value.
Analysis of the Feedback: 1. Supportive Reasoning: • The critique highlights the potential for unintended offense in juxtaposing scenes involving people and monkeys in the same narrative context. This is particularly sensitive in a multicultural and politically aware society like Singapore, where citizens may interpret media content through socio-political lenses. 2. Counter-Argument: • The choice of scenes could be coincidental or intended as humor without malice. Media creators often rely on light-hearted content to engage audiences, and not all viewers may perceive it as offensive. Some may interpret it as a harmless parallel to collective excitement. 3. Action Point for Improvement: • Media creators should consider conducting focus groups or seeking diverse perspectives during the editing process to identify potential sensitivities. Additionally, training in cultural studies, media literacy, and EQ could help media teams foresee unintended interpretations.

interesting
Punggol is a hell hole with massive overcrowding though.
The winter started 2 days ago again. Now Punggol is 23 to 24°C ... 🥶.
My son moved there last October. Its a 10min walk from his home to the PC mrt stn. We are all very excited for this new facility. Thank you for this amazing video!
Singapore's public transportation is so reliable. I'm happy about it.
So many breakdown of trains nowadays. Still reliable? 😂
I really love your content as a Singaporean because I rarely get the opportunities to explore these areas as I'm so busy! Thank you for making these videos.
Always keeping us updated on the most recent where-tos 🎉
Hello Ghib, I always enjoy watching your amazing videos, happy new year 2025. 😊 Hope you continue to upload more interesting videos. 💜
Thanks so much! Happy New Year to you too! 🙏
Happy new year to you & your family. 😊
Finally you cover this! Welcome! I live opposite the MRT 😊
Oh ghib..you are so funny..the way you look for food!
大きくない国なのに、こんな広々とした駅、街が新しく出来るなんてすごい!
建物カッコいいですね✨
I hate how impatient commuters can get when they want to board the train. Like seriously let people alight first, it’s that simple!
im glad you enjoy the plaza and the space, i was involved in the initial space design way back, you should come back at night when it's officially open
I went there on the opening day!
OPEN! OPEN! OPEN!
Looks like it’s gonna be bustling soon!
Ghib: Singapore winter is finally over, hence it is hot.
Not even a week later, the skies has fallen and will continue to be for the next few days and its been colder than my aircon.
Thanks for sharing. As a Singaporean, I seldom go out. 😂I have learnt a new place of Singapore from you🤭
How about woodleigh!! I hope to see a video on woodleigh, considering it has changed so much over the years :D
When the SIT university opens up, this xould be even busier bthan Orchard MRT. So cherish the emptiness whilst we can
Hi Ghib,, thks for the info zehi zehi will go when it open, but maybe wait abit becoz it will be crowded.. oh yah Ghib i alrdy asked my Family to order the CNY osake.. will kampai during the CNY i cant wait 😅,, Huat Ah Ghib,, 🍶👍😇😎
Yeah can try to go after the mall opens! Enjoy your sake with your family, HUAT!!
That place looks like it could be a decent map for a team death match game. 😂
as a train enthusiast myself, once the first batch of students enter SIT, it will be used more often. teck lee be having a competition now 💀💀💀
Cool man! It's very nice and not crowded, I mean where in Singapore can you find such serenity? Nice landscape, well-paved walkways! No worries give it 1 year and you will see the crowd.
Looks awesome! Seriously impressive

I remember seeing a video with a bunch of little kids freaking out, jumping around and dancing in the station. Like it cant be THAT exciting
I JUST WENT THERE LAST WEEK
Space is kind of massive... not too sure what the space looks like when the building fully operates. But looking forward to the hawker centre as the current coffee shop opposite Punggol Point Cove is a bit too expensive and not enough seats. By the way, where is that foodgle hub located?
SIT block E4! : )
Oh, it's relatively close to Coney Island! Time for to plan a day trip for exploration! 🌲
Look so nice and interesting place
Most of them opening on Mar 2025, so Mar or April you can try see it.
Oh wow it's open already
Wow this is nice , I would love to visit
久しぶりにジブオジさんの動画見ました。
日本語もまだところどころ話すんですね。
中心街から25分でこんな人工都市に住めるなら東京なら超絶人気になりそう。
You've got to try the delicious American Cuisine at the SIT Canteen, it's called NomStop run by Alumni of the University!
"only 20-minute train ride from city". Me who lives on the other side needing 2 hours to reach (now slightly shorter thanks to new station) :(
Also visited with my friends😁
When it’s hot and steamy I always look for an icy sugar cane drink👍😋😄
Wah so fast breakdown already.
I will miss the ‘ulu-ness’, the peace and quiet of that area + Coney 😢
Cut down on cars n bikes.
Its still good.
Even if trains breakdown often..
Still its runs almost 24 hr. Of course it will breakdown every now and then. But more mrt route is better. So one down, there are another mrt way to get to the place that we need to go.
Rather than the shuttle bus. 😅💀
Don't play play, drink Sake🍶 dance Sakura pala pala...🎉 Huat ahhhhh. Punggol-rian. 😂
Is Ghib San going to do a series of all the MRT station in Singapore ?
That can be interesting!
You should come again late March when it's officially open
I just come see there last week 😂
Don't worry about the fire alarm in tower 86 hahaha. I've been studying in the punggol campus since it opened last autumn and the alarm goes off every few days. I think it's to make sure it works
Good to know! 😅
omg punggol used to be just filled with trees... and the tree... and the haunted house...
even the monkeys were excited....
open! OPEN! Open!!😂😅
They are all the same, you visited one, you visited them all. Train stations connected to a bunch of malls selling bubble teas and fast food.
Looks very nice compared to other countries
Look at New York 😂😂
I cycle there often
The open area reminds me of admiralty 😅😊
I like Singapore but I still prefer my town UK where I'm staying for years
I'm staying in the blocks around it as well and I totally agree with that guy - It's better than Tengah 😂😂😂😂
Tengah is ulu lah😄
Punggol was the original ulu😄
Tengah is near airbase too. Super noisy!
punggolians who stay near the water will be greeted with ship horns from time to time
@@moonstarsun633 fighter jets train daily above punggol point too
Is Coney Island walking distance from the station?
Yes it is! Less than 10mins away.
@ thanks!
That was a pond not a lake.
Ghib san, im having motion sickness after your video. T-T
Sorry about that 😭
Facing the sea? More like a wide river😅
The monkeys are real deal. I stay 5 mins from the new mrt😂
ロンドンのカナリーワーフっぽい感じの場所やね。最もあちらは金融街やけどさ。
hahaha bro, why are you laughing when trying to promote the CNY Promo sake? 🤣
because it's HUAT!!
@@GhibOjisan Wish your family blessed and HUAT HUAT for the new year!

is no one talking about how he had two lunches?
i think will be ncie to see Ghib cross collab with MalayPanTV
I actually passed by the area some time before it opened
Aside from that uhh
I did consider although its kinda out there a bit

1:36 'New' MRT station, but the escalator has already broken down. Smh. Standard.

People staying in the east are like people from Kyoto, just less passive aggressive :D
and then there's the west.
Bro missed out the event 😭😭
Hi ghib
Welcome back
There is nothing "EMERGENCY" happening. Is just a PA testing...😂
Your shoppe links are directed to log in, which is a barrier and extra step… couldn’t see the price at all :(
