Bro this Singapore Hour is working so well (brought back good memories of Japan Hour), it's very easy to digest and also fun since you're bringing a Japanese friend along too. Keep this up, I know this is a lot of work but the format is really fun to watch, especially the interactions with locals and asking them light questions. Keeping the Japanese conversations flowing throughout the video makes it more interesting too.
I think this is one type of video that you may want to consider putting out on a regular basis, interspersed with your regular content. I grew up watching Japan Hour in Singapore and became so fascinated with your country that I had to visit it, once I had the financial means. I love, love, loved this episode of SG hour! Keep up the good work, my man!
This is a wonderful concept Ghib! It not only introduce or re-introduce places in Singapore for Singaporeans but also gives visitors from other countries good recommendations to places they would otherwise not know about! Thanks!
Omg this version of 'singapore hour' is so fun and just like the original Japan Hour! I'm always watching Japan Hour and so nice we have our singapore version now!! Yeahhhhh thanks to Ghib!!
Thank you for showcasing AMK to the world, we are very proud of our country and we are happy for you to share Singapore to the rest of the world. I like the way you interact with our locals, keep it up! God blesz you...❤
Ghib-san. This is a great program!! Enjoyed every minute of it. I am a Singaporean living in Tokyo for more than 20 years now. Always thought it is a pity for most of my Japanese friends to only know Singapore for the ‘new’ and expensive places. Would recommend this for anyone planning to go to Singapore.
This reminds me of my late grandfather. He was known as the bird man of Toa Payoh and appeared on the National Day poster in the 80s with his bird cage and his bird. ❤ We grew up with birds everywhere- in the bathroom, the toilet (separate rooms), the bedrooms, living room, kitchen… I would watch the birds bath and they were chirping all the time. He fed them lovingly and truly was passionate for them. Bird songs filled my life as a child and I’ll always be thankful for that.
As a Singaporean, this makes wanna explore Ang Mo Kio...will bring my kids to the bird singing club, dragon playground and bishan park this weekend...what an awesome video. Thanks. U got a new subscriber.
OMG!!! I'm a fan of Japan Hour especially the local rail series where the hosts can only go to places recommended by locals and be officially entered as part of the 10 not to missed attractions. Every time I watched those episodes, I often wish that it would be nice if Singapore can have something like but I dismissed it because Singapore is too small and homogenous. You have proven me wrong and really made my day!!! Thank you Ojisan ...Thank you so very much!!! I thoroughly enjoyed this video. 🙏👍
感謝你Ghib,給獅城帶來新的魄力。祝你身體健康,笑口常開! And yes, I'm a Singaporean. Update: I just realized you just intentionally spoke with a deep diaphragm voice, just like the Japan Hour narrator.
This is so 'japan hour' style, you must have put in alot of time and effort to made it so well done!! Both you and your female guest are so cheerful. Very impressive and awesome. Well done, appreciate your effort and please keep it up!!
Interesting fun video. Hiyori is adorable and so obliging...always smiling and polite. Good to see the locals interacting. The uncles and aunties are all so cute. Like your presentation and comments. God bless!
Wonderfully nostalgic as you combine Japan Hour with local life. This episode will be exotic to your Japanese viewers. Perhaps your "Singapore Hour" should also be aired in Japan.
Beautiful video! Awesome getaway! Gorgeous food! Wonderful park! Magnificent neighbours! Please do more neighborhood visits around Singapore eg. Joo chiat, tiong bahru, toa payoh, bedok and tampines etc etc. I want to rewatch this video again. I'm sure other followers will too.❤
Ghib, this is one of your best episode. the very successful recreation of the Singapore's version of Japan Hour is refreshing and it looks almost like the real show!. and some of the place i haven't even been before... the bamboo pole of hanging clothes is a fast disappearing sight. now new flats and upgraded flats (including mine) have changed to the new type of roller type... maybe another 30 yrs it might disappear already... Last time playground used to be filled with sand, and when it rains i can make sand castle, hill and flowing streams, now all replaced with rubber pad....
i’m a big fan of japan hour CNA. your version of Singapore hour is brilliant and so on point. refreshing entertaining and the approach to the content is so interesting! thanks ghib san! it is so so so nice to watch!!!!’ looking forward to this series and hope to bump into you one day and one day hope u can do your own version of your japan hour and share with us 🎉🎉🎉
ahhhh japan hour! yes! such a familiar and amazing show. having a singapore hour makes me chuckle but i really enjoyed this concept and video! will be looking forward to many more episodes to come!
Ghib's video today is omoshiroyi ne❤️. When I saw the words "SG Hour", I started laughing bcoz here in SG, Japan Hour is so well known that the words are almost "patented" for the Japan travel program alone. The funny part is there's even a male voice over who sounded very much like the narrator in Japan Hour! Aiyoh the "copying" is so real and funny😂. Me wondering if that's Ghib san or is it another person 🤔? I must take my hat off to Ghib san. How and where on earth did he always find his guests who have freshly landed yet they do not behave like traditional Japanese bcoz they are not only young, but sporting and brave. I mean very different image from the japanese that I used know. Today, Ghib's guest, young lady some more, dare to try the durian and the chicken legs! Oh my, as a local myself, I don't eat chicken legs! Overall today, Ghib recommendations to add to the travel guidebook are good and authentic. Yes the Bishan AMK park is a good recommendation. Been there, it's a beautiful, quiet sanctuary away from the city noise. There are other places around SG to be added to the guidebook too (example Coney Island, Chek Jawa, old churches, lighthouses, Sungei Buloh where one can catch the seasonal migratory birds, must bring bino). I like Ghib's ending part. I think he summed up the essence of sight seeing in SG very well. That is, the real stealers/ surprises are within pockets of SG and not the usual touristy areas. Thanks for the hard work again... esp on a scorching hot day🥵.
Thanks for featuring this part of AMK!! This part of AMK an integral part of my childhood, I studied at Bethesda (where the aunty recommended Teochew food) for kindergarten and basically grew up living in Kebun Baru over the weekends. My relatives still live there (and in fact, they also run a stall at the hawker that sells basically every food you can think of). This is really a part of SG that people wouldn’t feature and it’s really refreshing to watch it! ✨
Love this new concept. It's very refreshing, entertaining, informative and fun. Please make more videos like this asking locals for recommendations to find hidden gems in every town in Sg
Ghib it is so thoughtful of you to create this video after Japan Hour. I have seen so many Japan Hour shows and think you really did everything superbly well here. Bravo to all who worked with you to create this as a team!
Really love the Japan Hour concept. I didn't read the comments and once I started watching.... OMG, this is Japan Hour but for Singapore. Would love more of this kind of content. Maybe also do a train line edition where you drop off at random stops and find 10 interesting things to do on the line. Maybe you can also get sumitomo and yukult to sponsor you.
Thanks for the intro of my area, @GhibOjisan. Hope you will more videos on other areas like Bishan, Toa Payoh, Bedok, Eunos, Bukit Batok and perhaps Henderson area etc .
Love it that you are visiting local neighborhood like Ang Mo Kio. I used to stay in Jurong & my childhood favourite playgrounds include the dragon playground, the clown clock house, the watermelon and metal elephant. There used to be so many interesting & fun playgrounds but due to wear & tear plus changing it from sand pit to cushioned mats type they were tore down & replaced. Happy to see how these non-touristy places are being featured in Ghib-san's Singapore hour. Looking forward to more content about Singapore & Japan from you!
It's really nostalgic for me to watch this. I grew up in Ang Mo Kio, it's still my favourite place in Singapore. Even though i've relocated overseas, whenever I visit Singapore, I'll definitely make a trip to Ang Mo KIo. Thank you so much for showcasing it to the world! Good choice to include Dragon playground as the government wanted to demolish them all for new playground - I'd hate to see it go!
Ang Mo Kio have 6 or 7 wet market. Now is considered mature town but when I was born and my parent move here, it was a new town. I loved the food and convenient which is why I choose my resale here. I already registered for your concert and I can tell you more about older stuff about Singapore during then. Hiyori san reaction is very cute. She will be staying in Singapore for a while then? One thing about Ang Mo Kio or just AMK, we have a few Town Council here. The one you visited is around block 300+ and the dragon playground had changed quite a fair bit over the years. It's had been rebuilt as well. In the past, it's had sand and some swings as well. Well the playground is so close to my house.
Like the way it is presented and also these are the lesser known aspects of AMK! Very Japan hour like, keep it up! Both Ghib and Hiyori both are very natural in front of the camera, hope to see more of such interesting food/places contents and interactions with "locals" of the area.
I am a Singaporean born and bred but never really explored Ang Mo Kio like that! Love the refreshing insights and recommendations, thanks Ghib! Pls do more neighbourhoods~
Ang Mo Kio is not far from where I live, so I actually visited many areas in AMK. Even then, some of the areas featured in the video are new to me. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to more episodes of Singapore Hour !
Ghib san, thank you so much, you are an inspiration to me and many others, you have given much, please do rest and take a breather, life is a marathon. I totally enjoyed this Singapore hour...
Your comment at the end about the best part of SG being outside the city was totally right. When I lived there and also when I visited last year, it was the locals that made my day. Inviting me to lunch after yoga class randomly, and inviting me (treating me) to cendol in Yisun after randomly meeting at Sembawang Hot Springs. Even the taxi drivers were so friendly on my last trip and when I lived there. That's why one day I'm definitely going to live there again! Btw Bishan Park is definitely the best park and I used to cycle around there and up through Ang Mo Kio and along to Punggol. Love that route!
nice format, more of this please. do one for Canberra, the newest estate in the North. you'll find a hidden old-school kampong mosque right by the seaside!
Concert Updates: Confirmation emails have been sent out today😃 If you have not received an email from me, it means you are on the waitlist! We will contact you if there are available seats nearer to the date. Thank you so much! ありがとう!
Waitlist? Great!!! … means I still have hope then 楽しみです🤞🐶
😮😂

Appreciate the support IZ! Glad you enjoyed it as much as I did😁
@@GhibOjisan yes bro enjoyed it so much especially the JH sound effect haha!
I agree it’d be so fun to watch and even to learn more about my own country too, hopefully it becomes a series!
Love this! Please do more the Singapore Hour!
The narration and background music are on point! The intonation for the narration is very much Japanese docu-variety show vibe!
It's so Japan Hour!! 😊
Ya spot on!
I think this is one type of video that you may want to consider putting out on a regular basis, interspersed with your regular content. Omg @ghib you totally nailed the Japan hour feel. From the opening voiceover to the conversation. The tone was perfection 🎉
Omg this version of 'singapore hour' is so fun and just like the original Japan Hour! I'm always watching Japan Hour and so nice we have our singapore version now!! Yeahhhhh thanks to Ghib!!

I like the way you interact with our locals, keep it up!
God blesz you...❤
Thank you too!
What a beautiful concept! Using the method of filming in Japan hour, you did a Singapore hour. Great work!
こういうシンガポールローカルな話題とても好きです!
今後も観たい🎉
Very entertaining… feels a bit like watching Japan Hour… the lady introducing wanton Mee is so friendly… your videographer deserve a pay raise
Happy to hear that!

Wifey talking and laughing behind the camera is hilarious and big bonus! Really good work w the camera too!
Thanks! Great video, good vibes.

Omg i loved watching Japan Hour when i was a kid haha this video was lovely ^^
Great video! Thank you for supporting and embracing Singaporean culture and stories so wholeheartedly :)
Appreciate it Nigel. Glad you enjoyed it!
Love this new "Singapore Hour" format. Hope to see more contents in this format in the future.
This is so 'japan hour' style, you must have put in alot of time and effort to made it so well done!! Both you and your female guest are so cheerful. Very impressive and awesome. Well done, appreciate your effort and please keep it up!!
I must say, the scenes on the train local line and the introduction are spot on!
Interesting fun video. Hiyori is adorable and so obliging...always smiling and polite. Good to see the locals interacting. The uncles and aunties are all so cute. Like your presentation and comments. God bless!
