I mean, following any action / hack-n-slash game logic, if it has perfect block & dodge, then damage from enemy is optional unless if it's guaranteed hit. HP MP is pretty much staple for magic spammer who knows how to block & dodge. Not really good against mobs with bounty on your head tho. Girliepop could've ended Odin in the first stagger with magic spam but she really wanted to show how good she is at perfect blocking flawlessly.
Good to know about the workaround for temporal imprisonment. Tried soloing Odin with Cloud and thought temporal imprisonment made it impossible since he can't be staggered while casting it.
it doesn’t. it’s high risk high reward. good luck spamming perfect guards in regular fights like this dude. it’s not a feasible strategy in any fight besides boss fights where you keep trying again and again where you can learn the timing of their attacks well enough to make it a remotely good defense strategy
@@markchiodras9291 And to add on to that, Odin has one of the most telegraphed movesets in the game (not to diminish the skills needed for you to do it perfectly every single time like it's shown in this video tho, those are still needed) so this is def something you can *not* do, at least not that "easily", with most other bosses cause there's moves that are crazy hard to parry. So yeah Perfect Guard is not broken in the least, it is simply a high risk high reward mechanic like mentioned here
How are you not triggering his ultimate? I thought you needed to hit him with detrimental effects as well as dodging/pf blocking and hitting him with strong attacks
you have to navigate the amount of times you block him before he gets bored and deal enough constant damage and you'll be fine. you don't need to go all out (unless you're in hard mode i guess but i never tried that)
Does the flower shield dosnt work with his spears ? or it only blocks 1 spear? If so its not worth 1 atb, but for multiple ones it can be done even faster
@@PaulineRagny i did use it a couple like when you had to face 2 bombs only with Aerith in the colliseum, but is not really worth a atb bar i guess xP ... it should be bigger or something, in more harder encounters the proyectiles tend to pass over the shield. And still enemys also move all around, specially with more party members. The enemy skill materia also have a shield skill, one of the last you get indeed, but is even smaller.... devolpers should think that it may be op but defently is not xDD even less when you can reflect proyectiles with some cloud synergy skills XP

The fight is level synced so no matter your level, Odin's stats will be adjusted. Though it is definitely easier with end game abilities and accessories.

You can brute force trough it buy using cloud’s limit break when he is preparing to cast the spell. I always save a limit break for this moment.
What we really learn from these types of videos is that Perfect Guard actually breaks this battle system wide open.
It doesn't "break" anything. It's by design to reward skilled players.

Each of those things help but you don't HAVE to do everything. As long as you don't take too much damage and deal him enough he won't get bored.

You know, it never occurred to me to try. I use that shield so rarely. But it might work! That would certainly improve the run.
