I'm wondering the same. Maybe the accessories he has on? Also deshell doesn't seem to work, cuz it says, no effect. The doppelganger copies everything she does, except for the limit break?
@@TheLateral18 Yeah Deshell and deprotect seem to be broken. They do actually work on very select enemies that have something defensive about them like those crabs or those desert sahagins with shields. But even then it's only a 10% damage reduction for 30 seconds. Not worth it.
It's great for hard mode when you can't have mp recovery because you can put it on one of your backline characters and use them as your healer outside of combat.
It's the HP MP materia. Limit gauge gain is based on the % of your max health you 'take' in damage. When you perfect block, you get limit gauge contribution based on that even though you took no damage. So having a tiny max HP makes your limit gauge fill incredibly quickly on perfect blocking.

It's because of the hp/mp conversion materia. Any damage that would have been lethal when Yuffie perfect blocks increases the limit gauge by a lot.
