I agree with this review 100%. This figure is too big, and dare I say goofy looking. And the lack of articulation for Krypto stinks. Hands down Captain Carrot is the best figure in this wave. I’m curious to see if this sells. Judy seems like I don’t think Todd knows what to do with or really cares about Superman that much. We all know Batman is his true ❤❤ haha.
What I meant to say about him not caring is his commitment to the quality of the supermen figures vs the Batmen figures. Not how many he’s made. I know there are many Superman figures, in fact I own most 😂😂. But his Batman are far Superior than his Supermen for sure.
There are many duds of Batman too. Batman sells the best, of course he’s done like 100 Batman figures, so there will be more good ones. There are more Batman duds too…I think
I'll be taking the head off of that buck and putting it on a regular body OR the black and silver suit from the bearded Solar Superman. It'll make a good 90's Superman in Black.
I think the Dark Knight Returns Superman is an interesting choice for this figure. I like it better than the huge torso body they've been using. I do wish they had retooled that S on this chest to be more in keeping with that 90's styled S. I will say that this looks better on camera than it did in those initial photos that were shown. I'll probably pass on this as what I want is that Classic Superman using the Page Punchers body, because aside from the inaccurate belt, I like that body sculpt best of all so far. That release may finally dethrone my Action Comics 1,000 Superman.
@@dHuntersReviews I would prefer Action tot he Page Puncher body, but the lack of double joints is really bad. I like the Action body more than the Infected sculpt for sure, but Page Punchers is still better than the DKR for a general Superman body. Only things holding back the Page Punchers body for me is the correct belt, and a more simple S shield.
@@dHuntersReviews Don't get me wrong, Action Comics Supes is still right up there. For me the tier is Page Punchers, Action Comics, then the Atomic Skull two-pack Supes, then POSSIBLY the Classics figure. Page Punchers, on its own isn't very good, though I do like it. The head is too small and the hands are too big. The new head and hands in the new classic colors though, made me see that figure in a new light. The over all proportions are really nice. I like the torso block not being so bulky like the Infected sculpt and the thighs aren't as thin looking as the Action Comics figure and there's double joints on all four limbs. Sure, there are some trade-offs like the inaccurate belt and that Superman Returns S with the raised ridge in the middle of the S, and I would have preferred to have them retool the arms and legs of Action Comics Supes, but as an alternative, I really like the Classics figure using the Page Punchers body. Anyway, Merry Christmas, or Happy Holidays if you don't celebrate Christmas, and also a Happy New Year as well!
Hunter did you see the Clark Kent figure that Muff Toys will release next year? It's called Protector of Metropolis and looks really cool. Already preordered mine.
It's a third party figure but it looks promising. Hopefully it's on the same level as Bruce Richman or that Kingdom Come (Return of the King) Superman. Thing is, if you don't preorder, you end up having to pay almost double on Ebay a few months later.
I bought this figure set for one reason: Krypto. I don't care for this body or the card stand, they are useless to me. I will probably swap out the head onto one of the many reused infected Superman body bucks. This is no more a Return of Superman figure than the "classic" Superman figure using the page punchers body buck is a classic Superman figure. So disappointing.
Anyone else hungry for X-Mas cookies? I thought I wanted that Mafex DKR Sup. Mind is changed. This one looks like a sup worthy to kick it with my Spawn OG Spawn Collection. Have any Batman Suggestions?
Actually this is exactly the way jon bogdanove drew superman while he had his run on superman.. ....i just think todd could have use a different s sheild.. because that screams frank miller and i think todd could have had a different cape mold.....todd so lazy when it comes to superman

Looks nothing like Death and Return of Superman comic. Also I thought in that Comic Superman had the yellow S on the cape. Something tells me this was a lazy effort and just used a body they didn’t have to sculp.
Super Swollen! Krypto the cute doggo. Love long hair on men. Definitely getting this big boy.
Not a fan of long hair on dudes myself
This is a iconic look for Superman at one point though
90s, baby!
Yessir!
They dropped the ball on the yellow s on the back of Krypto's cape
Not a big deal
Todd M is such a strange dude, at least Toy Guru gave people what they wanted!
Toy guru?

He will probably sell because of Krypto but it's a terrible figure.
It’s too big
But accurate to a version of Superman from the 90s
You can’t say Todd only cares about Batman, he’s done 35 Superman figures too!

I don’t like that body mold but like the head. I’d just want crypto and the head for other Superman.
The most swole figure I like is caveman Batman.
I should’ve head swapped into action comics Superman
I wish McFarlane would bring back the DC Collectibles flight stands with the spring action waist grip.
Not familiar with those…

I much prefer action to page puncher body

To each their own
That’s why I like hearing opinions

Atomic skull is my favorite but it’s the same as action so I just say action
Then hush Superman is next
I thought this figure was really cool. I liked the buff body, just like the 90's comics. At least to me, this will be my definitive Superman.
He is from an iconic period, definitely not my definitive version.
Was Krypto even in the comics during the Death & Return of Superman runs? Honestly he should've came with Classic Superman.
I don’t even know
Not that I recall
I hope lobo gets a rerelease with Dawg. I’m not feeling that space hog
Don’t count on it
Seems unlikely
I Love McFarlane Superman figures!✊✊✊
Me too!
Really curious, would the Mezco supes head fit on this Mcfarlane figure? I think the bulky body looks great.
I can check for you sometime if you remind me
Maybe 🤔 one day Todd McFarlane will make a classic Superman maybe 😞
He’s made plenty of traditional normal Superman
Action comics #1,000 I’d call classic Superman if I’ve ever seen one
You’re right yet I’m would love one that’s taller than the Batman hush figure with the light blue instead of the dark blue I’m just saying
That’d be WAY too big, Hush Batman is already too big as it is!
@@dHuntersReviews Good point lol
Single jointed elbows!?😮💨
The bigger the figure, the more Todd feels articulation looks bad

No, where is it sold at?
Got mine on AliExpress.

It’s mislabeled as to what it is

Hush Batman or Batman spawn 2 pack Batman
How is page puncher Superman's fists bigger than the return of Superman figure?
Just a weird design decision
I like it
Just wish they referenced the right source material
Captain carrot and superman chase is at Target already
Not here
If you can help me I’d appreciate it
I have carrot on the way
Yep, he should change his name to "Buffman".
A new hero is born…
I sometimes wonder why am I watching a guy that playing with his toys, I think I like toys?
I’d assume so…

Yes, it is exactly Bogdanove Superman
But it wasn’t advertised as such, it was labeled as Return of Superman which it is not
The Dark Knight Returns body. Another reuse. Great review though brother.
Of course it’s another reuse in the premium line!
If those are Royal Dansk in the tin, I'm down
What if it’s empty because I ate them all?
@@dHuntersReviews I ate a whole can myself, last week
Mullet supes is the shit. Replace krypto with timber from gi joe classified

It looks like he was portrayed in the 90s some but not from Death and Return, they got the source material wrong.

Superman just standing there…
No S on his cape ?. Was a huge version like this story was over powered and grew ...ill pass on this
Yeah, there was some story when he came back where he kept growing with power or something. He was drawn huge and buff like this from some of the 90s.

He was drawn that for by one artist that started with a B can’t remember the full name

Cloth ones sometimes
