I actually don't mind the reuse of the Dark Knight Returns body, and think it could have worked for a 90's Superman, if there were a new headsculpt and a new accurate "S" symbol. Superman was occasionally drawn really huge and roided up like this in the 90's. The Action Comics 1000 head is much too small for that body and even though I love it, it's been used to death. Since this Superman was total reuse (even the headsculpt) I think more money should have at least been put into Krpyto and made him articulated. Still not a bad figure though.
Great review, man. Your videos are quite informative. I am torn on this figure personally but I think if I can find it discounted I will grab it. I have a soft spot for 90s era Superman and Batman stuff
TBH the proportions of the Superman figure look exactly like how Jon Bogdanove drew Superman in the '90s. Krypto not being articulated isn't a deal-breaker, but I completely agree about the cape being a weird choice.
I’ll probably pass on this one. I don’t like the super buff Superman figures. I don’t have a Superman yet but my favorite is in the Atomic Skull 2 pack so that’s probably the one I’ll get eventually. Great review!

Definitely not a collector figure, but I’m enjoying him more and when posed next to the OTHER, “Reign of the Supermen,” figs, TDKR body definitely stands out in a good way as the REAL Superman. Great stuff. 👌🏽
It's one of the greatest WTF?! McFarlane figures ever. Worst choice for body style, but a great repaint of it. Even going with the claimed "overused" Bizarro body would've been better than the Dark Knight Returns mega roided body. McFarlane could've taken a page out of Hasblow's book by looking at their articulated wolves that come with Snake Eyes to make an articulated Krypto. Not that excited about statue Krypto. Also, his jawbone could sink the Titanic! Damn.......why did I get this figure? lol Hope I can get the Mezco Recovery Suit Superman at some point. That looks seriously badass and cool!
Oh, and the Platinum Editions for this whole wave are a joke! At least the Plats for Wave 2 made me have to get them. What's with an almost identical Captain Carrot, a Supes suffering from extreme Kryptonite poisoning, and Batman as a construct? Like.....what?
The arms having single joint elbow but has swivel to make up for it. I thought I hated this body type for Superman but it was just the ugly face of the Miller art turned into figure. I don’t mind so much Krypto not having articulation except the neck.
Who is taller wonder woman or this Superman and krypto versión? I want a Superman at least as tall as wonder woman , i wonder if this Superman scales with Batman hush versión
