I was surprised to see that Ultraman had already appeared in the TV broadcast scene of Midnight Cowboy. I hope that the reappraisal of Japanese Godzilla will make people in North America and Europe more interested in these series.
Tbf there hasn't been much adaptations to the classic story as the rest of the franchise is mostly different takes on the basic formula done to their own style. The only ones that are kinda intended to be a pseudo remake are Powered and Shin, adding Great and Neos if you really want to consider those too. Great video for new folk unfamiliar with Ultraman!
Half a century later, Ultraman would meet Godzilla in the indie kaiju fighting game, Gigabash, as both the alien superhero and radioactive fire-breathing dinosaur are playable guest fighters in that game. 👽🦖

The inspiration for Super Sentai was Kamen rider and later on Japanese Spiderman funny enough Kamen rider being kind of it own thing, the original source anyway the TV show does make it more tame and silly
