9/24/24: Helene Will Turn Massive - Hurricane Warning Now in Effect!

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 24 ก.ย. 2024
- Tropical Storm Helene is expected to intensify into a major hurricane impacting a large area including Florida, Georgia, and the Southeast. It could become a Category 4 storm and bring significant wind, storm surge of up to 15 feet near Apalachee Bay, and rainfall of 3-6 inches or more. Landfall is forecast for the Big Bend area of Florida's Gulf Coast on Thursday night. There is also a threat of tornadoes, particularly in Central and Northern Florida. Josh discussed the potential for rapid intensification due to favorable environmental conditions. He noted uncertainty in the forecast track, which could shift east or west of the predicted path. Josh also mentioned the potential formation of another tropical system in the central Atlantic and the ongoing impacts from Hurricane John's remnants in Mexico.

Prayers for Florida.
@@Dorothy4Jesus thank you! This looks scary.
I live in Sarasota, Florida, and I'm praying for all of us who are in the path of this storm. May God calm this storm and weaken it to a disorganized tropical depression. I believe all things are possible with God. In Jesus' mighty name, I pray Amen and Amen 🙏
❤Weather update & Prayers too? Awww- Perfect combo~ Stay safe everyone.
That was a pleasant surprise for me as well. Thank you Josh!
Thank you, Josh, from Okaloosa County, Fl.

Thanks Josh, we are praying for everyone in Helene’s path
My daughter, her daughter and husband and their 3 little girls ages 4, 2, and 6 months live in Dunedin, Fl. I ask them to please leave tomorrow but they say they know what they are doing and will leave Thursday. Please pray for their safety and that they will leave tomorrow! God bless you and thank you for your prayer request and for your very professional weather update!
🙏🙏🙏
praying for your loved ones!
A Category 4 is not “Click Bait.” Also - Why do boat owners insist on leaving their boats tied up to the dock when a storm this size comes along? What a waste of money..
Boat owners are usually loaded so they don't care.
So thankful for your information. I'm in Clearwater and hour by hour it changes. I will sleep better tonight. God bless
Thanks for the insight. It's really appreciated. What a blessing you are, Josh!
Do your prep, secure your property and get out. The only prayer that I pray for myself whenever a storm is coming is for the Lord to give me and now you strength to deal with whatever comes. My wife and I had to endure Irene.
Thanks for the update Josh. We're preparing here in Bradenton FL. Keep us posted
God bless!
How refreshing to hear this, God bless all.
Helene reminds me of Opal 1995. Formed by the Yucatan, tho' west of Helene, and a trough pulled it north. I remember Opal in Atlanta. Thousands of trees downed, power outages, and 7 inches of rain.
@@petermarshall7352 I remember that too! We lost power for days. Are you still in Atlanta? I am. Looks like she's going to whip on us too!
@@laur131306 No, I am now in Flowery Branch, about 45 miles NE of the ATL.
I remember Opal. I was five and it was the first major hurricane I was aware of. Was in Dothan, AL., trees down everywhere and no power for about a week. Michael in 2018 was very similar.
Thanks for the update...you're our go to for all things "severe weather" as you give much more detail and explanation in your reporting.
Thank you so much for your work in keeping us abreast of weather on your TH-cam channel. And ESPECIALLY, that you include the Good News with the bad news! (We live near Pensacola, and have family in Asheville).
Really enjoy your channel Josh! It's nice finding people who really seem to be good examples of Christians. Helps me in my journey with figuring all of that out! Have a good one. 😊
Beautifully said
Thank you from Flagler County, FL
You're on this lucky side this time.
Amen to that John. Thank you. The Lord is amazing!
Thanks Josh....Greetings from Greenville, NC.
Thanks weatherman Josh
Our local Chief forecaster says the storm is 600 miles wide WOW! In South Florida we are not in the cone but might have isolated tornadoes One big storm and it floods GOD PLEASE BLESS US ALL THANK YOU AMEN
Wassup Josh, how's everything going with you today? I'm a huge fan of the channel love how accurate, in debt you get. For the ppl who don't like to pay attention, or just someone who needs it. You're great 👍
@MothKeeper yeah, don't know why but you sure don't like me
Thanks weatherman Josh
My local forecast says it's going to go west of the Ohio valley. Hope they are wrong. Desperate for rain.
Please evacuate if possible 🙏
Also I'm a Miami, FL boy. And agree with you thinking about a cat. 4 / closer to the east. 😢
That storm is gonna be a cat 2 not a 4
@roxannehudson7410 if anything I'd say high end cat. 2 maybe 3 if it has the time to.
@MothKeeper lol, didn't say, For Sure category 4 on the way. Definitely looking more like a high end cat. 2/ maybe 3
@@MothKeeper alright, same page .all good 👍
Perfect Bible verse for the times we are living in now. Thank you!
Thank you! God bless you. Please lift me up. I will be praying you and God's guidance in your life. In Jesus's name.
Those tabs lol.. Thank you for the info
Spot on Brother! Thank you for your service ❤️🙏🙏
Look at it with just wind you will see it's a serious hurrican
😮 Why does everyone keep calling the big bend , the panhandle!😢
This thing is going to cover all of Florida, I don't see why the whole state isn't under a state of emergency
Because he's hyping this. Why I don't know. Just follow NHC or Tropical Tidbits.
62 out of 67 counties are under the State of Emergency.
People like you are exhausting. How do you know? Are you a meteorologist? I shouldn't have to continue to explain myself to someone who refuses to listen.
Thank You
Stay safe Florida. I'm skeptical about this storm turning west. Does not seam right to me. js. That is all I have heard this year. West😳😡
Lost a home during Ian in the cape. So lost. God bless
Stay safe Florida!!!
Storm surge warnings now
Just curious will flights continue leaving Orlando area as the hurricane approaches? My husband is there and supposed to fly out Thursday 😳
I’m praying for you all in Florida
Not sure - that's up to the airlines. They're under a TS warning now.
Bay County Resident here
What’s the latitude and longitude of the storm?
I've always thought of the big bend area as being in Texas, the Big Bend national park area.... but I'm from Texas 🤷♂️
It's where the state bends around at the coast to form the eastern part of the top which across the whole top of the state is basically the panhandle I live in w palm beach central east coast😮
Thx for update
But other weatherman are saying it’s not as bad as it was suppose to be. It’s downgrading
Y’all need to compare pics of hurricane Ian and Helene , Helene will be bigger than Ian was
Love 5he 23rd psalm lovè this meteorologist he is comforting thank you for acknowledging the lLord most would not❤
Think Lakeland/Hillsborough county will be fine?
Ts wind plus small tornado risk, but relatively speaking yes
@@joshsseverewx gotcha thx
Raleigh Florida??
I'm sorry but there is so much warm water out there, and it could intensify and go towards the east coast of Florida, you can rule that out
Could this turn and get close to Sarasota Florida
Probably not, maybe St. Pete on north but not Sarasota
I heard on another channel it's gonna be a 2 at landfall maybe 3 at the most but mostly a2
1
Has this other channel been changing his forecast with every model run? I know one like that, and he's often wrong on big storms
@@hellobethel7464Thats the one i watch 😂 If he is wrong on the last forecast then i am unsubbing him.
@@investigator20164 days ago that one said this would be a TS, nothing more. Very irresponsible I unsubbed after this evening's.
@@hellobethel7464 Dont blame ya. Pretty sure ive been catching him being wrong a whole bunch the last two months but i always forget what he was wrong about 😂 This time im watching close.
What about north west Florida Pensacola ?
Just some rain, no direct impact from high wind or surge
We’re all coming to your house 😊😂
But the center is compact. Just the tropical stprm wind field is wide.
Have you seen the latest imagery? It is getting under the anticyclone and growing, and tomorrow will start to interact with the trough and grow even more.
Hate it for the path but not in west FL -it is what it is
Cat 2 no biggie. Cat 4 oh boy!!!!
I promise that upper level trough / low will steer Helene more easterly and slam into the Tampa area or central Florida region at CAT 4 and has already reached a lower pressure reading than Michael back in 2018. If that pressure drops below 930mb, get ready for another disaster run.
hmm it was said to be a hurricane by this afternoon glad to see it isnt and its evening
Cat 4? On edit, this is not good
It's 3 days from landfall
@@jenkinsljenkinssquire9137 2 days, not 3.
Just too many of the basement weathermen. They scare folks to death. These guys always say different than National Weather Forecasters.
Oh this storm will be a doozy get prepared folks definitely has cat 4 written all over it!! This is the October surprise..🤨
Gotta love the titles of all the TH-cam weathermen lol
@@WilL-lt7zv Would “Hey, wind and rain later this week” fit your expectations better? This is a herd of meteorological Tyrannosaurus Rex’s heading for Florida. No sense in communicating the severity of this with kid gloves on. Dramatic expressive words exist just for situations like this. This IS the time for strong words. Chipotle “ruining your life” for getting your order wrong, isn’t.
Send it swf I get off and get paid
the average person does not understand all this jargon he is putting out. i have respect for these meteoroligists ,but they love to hear their own voice. all we need to know is the basics. where and how strong. all the rest of this talk means nothing to most ppl.
I actually spend time explaining how weather works and what goes into the forecast. If the average person wants to remain average, that's fine. But I think a lot of people still appreciate being educated.
Why doe's everyone make this a big deal before it is,? It's just a hurricane not the end of the world.
Because people die in storms. also dangerous for pets and wild animals. It's best to talk about the dangers rather than minimizing them.
@Lilith218 I get what your saying but people over dramatically posting and talking about this
No they aren’t, people are seeing the setup for a powerful storm. They have the data and realize this will be serious. I think a lot of people are ,ore dialed into the situation than you realize. They are sounding the early alarm and good for them doing that.
What will charlotte nc get
