    got the very same and it's very handy, used it 2 days ago on the wifes car when it reliably informed me the battery needed changed, you can diagnose without these but its quick and takes the guesswork out of things

    I’m really glad your testing a topdon battery tester.

    Very interesting tool! Just a side note - the internal battery resistance reported was in milliohms.

    This basically the BT200 with a printer. It is a good bit of kit and is handy for testing batteries. I'd definitely recommend it.

    Cheap and cheerful tester - I have the Midtronics tester which is a quality bit of kit but all these testers work on a similar algorithm of data usually internal batt resistance/temperature etc etc. I use at least 2 or 3 methods of battery testing before I condemn a battery 1. Midtronics 2. Drop test 3. Hydrometer test if possible (wet cell).

    I thinkn Topdon v2200plus is better buy for averege car user. Bought one. Started one coworkers 3.0 tdi touareg in minus 20C and tested his battery. He was impressed and bought himself one. And so did another coworker.

    Not impressed with Top Don I bought a top scan obd11 tester and can't get it to work. Poor support from techs. I bought a launch battery tester and very happy with that. No printer though I do like that

      Most people won't really use the printer. I don't think Topdon has UK support

    I had one, and it failed pretty much every battery, even brand new ones 😂

    the Halfords EFB battery told you the criteria to select, 700 CCA(EN) so why didn't you select EN ?

    • @larrysimon1
      @larrysimon1 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      CCA and EN are equivalent battery rating standards so make no difference at all which one you select as same result would be recorded.

    • @azerotha4531
      @azerotha4531 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @larrysimon1 CCA is equivalent to SAE, EN is a more stringent test so a 700 CCA/SAE battery in EN is aprox 640 if you test an EN battery as CCA/SAE it's got a better chance of passing, if you test a CCA/SAE battery as EN it's more likely to fail the test. However some manufacturers show the battery Amps as both cca and en for the same rating others will give multiple ratings on the battery with the correct number after en cca sae din etc

      @@azerotha4531 EN standard is tested at the same temp -18 degrees C but split into to separate tests of EN1 or EN2 ...........both are not used in this Country because they are far to complex and CCA & SAE is simpler and better for the UK and USA. EN Standard may in theory be more stringent but it is also more complex and not relevant to fast accurate battery diagnosis or real world testing.
