My anthem for this year is another song on the album called No Respect for Disrespect. I'm finally getting a handle on my mental health and am just not going to let folks walk all over me anymore.
Hate comments are so truly awful - but LOTL turned this gut wrenching phenomenon into a beautiful work of art. I too aim to be more LOTL about my haters (even if its just the stares) so much respect for both LOTL and also you also Tank, great commentary and content - thank you!
Fun fact: Gared wore a t-shirt in this video featuring an old hate comment that was turned in a merch slogan: 'Cringe Metal Band' (some frames at 9:24 - 9:27). I love their move of releasing this album so spontaneously and since they reached #1 in german album charts, they cleary took not the worst decision. ^^ On the first two listens I wasn't fully hooked since I were so used to the epic feeling of 'Judas'. But this album is a grower for me, especially 'The Future Of A Past Life' ft. Marcus from Heaven Shall Burn and 'One Last Song' (as far as I know Chris wrote this to be the last song he wants to sing before he leaves this world behind) stick to me on a higher level. I stumbled upon the fact that Chris actually never sings that 'this song' is the one he is singing about in "One last song". He describes a lot what the song would be about and what he would intend with it. But you cant find something like "a song like this" in the lyrics
Another Hate comment turned Meachandise is a wonderful shirt with (GOLDEN SPARKLE LETTERS): Lord Of The Super Super Gay Ninjas, first it was a limited release some years ago and I was said because I missed that, but since a rerelease 1-2 years ago I am a proud owner of that shirt :D
Oh, and about Unzucht - Their vocalist features in the LOTL video for "My Constellation". Also, Unzucht was one of the friend bands who made their own version of Viva Vandetta on the LOTL+ bonus CD from the Judas special edition. On their LOTL "Festival of love" Christmas stream from 2021 they performed a cover of a Unzucht song. I think they like each other a lot. 🙂
Unzucht are fucking awesome as well, I still need to dive into their discography soon, becuase I've listened to a few songs and had them on repeat for ages now, but never sat through an alubm yet, that will change though!
The title track video "Blood and Glitter" was released two weeks ago as the first video and basically the only promotion for the album release a few days later. I really liked the old school concept for being able to sit at home and listening to the entire cd, with the booklet in your hands, and everything (except the pre released titletrack/-video) was new. That's awesome! And they got the #1 in Germany!
Chris said that there will be 13 videos for the album. So one for every song. He also hinted after the release of this one on 1/1, dates like 2/2, 3/3 etc might be a good time to look if something drops. 😏 What is also wild is that they actually made #1 in the German album charts. There were fans that actually bought extra copies and special boxes for other fans that couldn't afford them in the race to make it happen.

And apparently it took off like hell, because a few days before chart cut off they were in #1, but another band was catching up. So they asked their fans on Telegram and Facebook if they were willing to go the extra mile to keep the spot. They put out a special support pack, and fans were even buying extra copies for other fans who couldn't afford it. It was an amazing display of support and in the end, it was enough. 🙂
"Your's is an empty hope" by Nightwish adresses the same thing. Sadly, it's not always an empty hope. Here is a story: Michael Mills, australian muti-instrumentalist and singer once sung "Wuthering heights" by Kate Bush. In original key! (Btw. he also once made a cover of "The fairy feller's masterpiece" by Queen. So well, that Brian May congratulated him on it.) A few weeks later, I wanted to share the link with another friend. It was gone 😞 And so I asked Michael "What happened? Did Kate Bush interfere?"...His answer was: "I deleted it myself.I'm fighting with depression anyways. And I recieved so many hateful comments, I couldn't take it any longer." Isn't that sad? My fianceé wrote him, that he should not listen to those "keyboard warriors" and keep up his fantastic work. The good news: he did it again! On here is a playthrough of his album "I like it!" I can complete relate to the initial statement. For example as much as I loved Tekkno and Pain Remains, I was sad, that I knew what to expect and most songs. This feeling of opening a bottle of wine or beer, sitting down and going into an album without knowing anything about it, is severly missed by me. At the same time I can't bring myself to not check out the new song of a band I love - and it gets even harder with the automatic playlists from spotify, I often use to discover new music.
The album is fire. The features with Marcus Bischoff(Heaven shall burn) and Jasmin Wagner(Blümchen) are awesome. It rightfully jumped straight to the top of the German album charts. I absolutely agree with Tank. Chris is a genius and the band is talented af. On the issue of hate speech, it's just a shame how some people behave online, but I don't see a way to change this unless the people change their mindset. All this homophobic, misogynistic, racist, transphobic hate makes me kinda sad... I just don't get it. Where is this coming from? What drives people like that? What's their intention? Well, anyway. Great video and I hope for more Lotl reviews soon. :)
Excellent reaction and very nice analysis of the content and backstory about the bomb Napalm had to accept throwing with this album~ (pun intended). LOTL took the risk and proved that the artists that are true to their art don't need to follow the rules and the trends. It's just like any other form of art. No matter how much technology can aid, we all still love some traditional art. And being an artist myself, I know that very well. Sometimes you gain more by making the difference against all odds.
What I like about LOTL is that you never really know where the journey is going. The new album is a banger. Excited to see the next music videos, especially for Forever Lost - that song is getting a lot of airplay at my house.
The one with the sunglasses was a parody of Xavier Naidoo. Xavier Naidoo is a german RnB Singer who is also a christian fundamentalist and a huge conspiricy theorist. He said alot of Qanon stuff here in germany that he just killed his own reputation in the past 3 yrs. LOTL is a great band.
Yeah, I knew there was a good reason to just simply hit the thumb up even before watching five seconds of the video :D That Britney Spears quote in the end surprised me as well , like "What now..?!". This is what I admire with this band, their well ballzy-ness. Even going on tour again with Iron Maiden, in Europe. Relentlessly recommending: Vreid "Wild North West" - gears, outfit, beautiful nature Parasite Inc - "Once And For All" - straight up great melodic death from Germany.

I'd never heard of this band before this video, so thank you for bringing them to my attention. No deserves such hateful comments, of course, but I was surprised by your surprise at some of them. Where I live, lots of folks say things like this *aloud*, in real life. It's deflating to see real-life hate in the world (beyond internet trolls).

The song Blood and Glitter was recommended to me on my TH-cam Music page. They know I like metal and synthwave and the song was a great mix of both. I think you'll like it, along with the rest of the album.
This was the 1st time i have listened to this band and i liked what i heard. It really annoys me when your being honest about something and you get hate for it, because on the other side of that you can be called out for being fake so either way you cant win. I was really surprised by the album release because they, like, just had an album not that long ago. I didn't care for that one, but I really like this one. Just one banger after another. But, yeah, as someone who has spent a far amount of time on IG and twitter, it's pretty amazing what people will say without any consequences. When I watched the Blood and Glitter video, most of the comments were positive, but if you scrolled down enough, oh yeah, they got nasty.

Like I said in another comment; One guy is a parody of xavier naidoo (RnB Singer and hardcore conspiricy theorist) on his desk we see a bottle "Tashio" wich was an energy drink brand from Attila Hildmann (Famous for beeing a vegan chef [he is not a real chef]. While this band's music is not for me, I very much respect their talent and skill. I also very much respect those (very much including LOTL here) who can turn hateful sentiment into comedy; I imagine it's not always easy to do. In a way, this song reminded me of the Mel Brooks film, "Blazing Saddles." That film did a masterful job at showing just how idiotic and absurd hateful people are. Even while serving in WW2, Brooks was able to make people laugh by playing over a loudspeaker to the ears of both axis and allied soldiers a popular song recorded by a Jewish artist (listen to Mike Rowe's "The Way I Heard It" podcast episode 6. "This isn't funny!" -- Seriously, it's only 7 minutes long). So, in a way I think Mel Brooks' works say everything I wish I could about turning hate into smiles. I'm happy to see that LOTL was able to do the same thing. While I know it's not always the best solution, I think one of the most effective ways to "deflate the hate," as it were, is to laugh at it. If people don't give the haters the reaction they want, then hopefully the haters are less likely to post at all in the future. As for the music, while I said it's not really for me, I will still give this song and perhaps some more of the album a listen to support the band as a thank you for what they were able to do in this song alone.
The world is not always a pleasant place, and the internet is the front line of hate and stupidity. Sadly it is getting worse outside of the internet also. I work at a grocery store, and we have seen a lot more hate and straight up bullying from customers the last few years. You need thick skin to survive in this world. At least we still have some good youtubers we can watch to have a good time. You suck Tank! 😆
It’s less about the band and more about the name. When I first discovered them on Twitch, Germans couldn’t agree on what their name 100% translated to in English so it’s kind of become a joke.

What I like about LOTL is that you never really know where the journey is going. The new album is a banger. Excited to see the next music videos, especially for Forever Lost - that song is getting a lot of airplay at my house.
The one with the sunglasses was a parody of Xavier Naidoo. Xavier Naidoo is a german RnB Singer who is also a christian fundamentalist and a huge conspiricy theorist. He said alot of Qanon stuff here in germany that he just killed his own reputation in the past 3 yrs. LOTL is a great band.
Yeah, I knew there was a good reason to just simply hit the thumb up even before watching five seconds of the video :D That Britney Spears quote in the end surprised me as well , like "What now..?!". This is what I admire with this band, their well ballzy-ness. Even going on tour again with Iron Maiden, in Europe.

I'd never heard of this band before this video, so thank you for bringing them to my attention. No deserves such hateful comments, of course, but I was surprised by your surprise at some of them. Where I live, lots of folks say things like this *aloud*, in real life. It's deflating to see real-life hate in the world (beyond internet trolls).

I was really surprised by the album release because they, like, just had an album not that long ago. I didn't care for that one, but I really like this one. Just one banger after another. But, yeah, as someone who has spent a far amount of time on IG and twitter, it's pretty amazing what people will say without any consequences. When I watched the Blood and Glitter video, most of the comments were positive, but if you scrolled down enough, oh yeah, they got nasty.

While this band's music is not for me, I very much respect their talent and skill. I also very much respect those (very much including LOTL here) who can turn hateful sentiment into comedy; I imagine it's not always easy to do. In a way, this song reminded me of the Mel Brooks film, "Blazing Saddles." That film did a masterful job at showing just how idiotic and absurd hateful people are. Even while serving in WW2, Brooks was able to make people laugh by playing over a loudspeaker to the ears of both axis and allied soldiers a popular song recorded by a Jewish artist (listen to Mike Rowe's "The Way I Heard It" podcast episode 6. "This isn't funny!" -- Seriously, it's only 7 minutes long).
So, in a way I think Mel Brooks' works say everything I wish I could about turning hate into smiles. I'm happy to see that LOTL was able to do the same thing. While I know it's not always the best solution, I think one of the most effective ways to "deflate the hate," as it were, is to laugh at it. If people don't give the haters the reaction they want, then hopefully the haters are less likely to post at all in the future.
As for the music, while I said it's not really for me, I will still give this song and perhaps some more of the album a listen to support the band as a thank you for what they were able to do in this song alone.

The world is not always a pleasant place, and the internet is the front line of hate and stupidity. Sadly it is getting worse outside of the internet also. I work at a grocery store, and we have seen a lot more hate and straight up bullying from customers the last few years. You need thick skin to survive in this world.

It’s less about the band and more about the name. When I first discovered them on Twitch, Germans couldn’t agree on what their name 100% translated to in English so it’s kind of become a joke.
