I just love this band: Due to their music and due to themselves.

I did the same thing with them when I discovered them a couple years ago. Liked the song, then they fell off my radar, then I got totally obsessed with them. Looking forward to the podcast with Chris. 😁
The cringe metal thing started from a comment and Chris ran with it lol They even have it on merch

I love the "FCK it, just Do it" mentality of lord of the lost, it brings so much 'freshness' and unknown Potential to the music. Did you already Heard and seen "La Bomba" of Lord of the lost? Man, that piece of music is special AF, like it takes some balls to play with different styles and just publish it to the public :)
Super glad you liked them a lot!
Also how could I missed that you made an Interview with Chris? I'll have to watch it now while working! :D

I saw them first when they were "just" a warm-up band for Eisbrecher and got hooked by their sound AND Chris voice. Absolut fandom hit me when they released "Raining stars" since then they're rock solid in my play lists. Think you would love the breakdowns in raining stars and the official video is one of a hell

10:03 World's first cringe metal band came from the haters of the band. They accuse LOTL of being cringe because they sound to slow for a metal band and to heavy for a gothic/industrial band. The band even made a special T-Shirt with the text "Cringiest Metal Band". This is their way of showing people that they don't care what anyone might say, they just will continue to do what they want and how they want it.

It always feels a bit nostalgic to me, listening to their music. I first saw them live in 2009, in a very small venue and there were legit only about 5 to 10 people attending their concert. When I saw them on the WGT (Wave Gotik Treffen) in 2010, they already had a bigger audience. Admittedly, I don't listen to their music much nowadays - I lost sight of them - but you doing those reactions kinda makes me wanna catch up on the music I missed in the intervening years.
If you ever have the time, I can recommend 'dry the rain' - it was one of my favourite songs by them back then :)

I never hear of them before 2017 and I first heard of them bc I acted with some people in a music video shoot for a small alternative band from germany and the guitarist was there too. I didn't know any of the people there except for the vocalist and dummer cause they both tattooed me and bc of that I got into the music video. And after the shoot they posted a pic on insta where the LOTL guitarist was tagged too and I checked out all of their Profiles and also his and realized he played in Lord Of The Lost one of the biggest german goth-metal(?) Bands and I was surpised. Since then I really like listening to them.

  • @DrSkeff
    @DrSkeff 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I also hear the DM influences but I always get a Sisters of Mercy influence - I know the Germans really got into the first wave of Goth and also that Eldritch lives in Hamburg. Also I sometimes get a Paradise Lost vibe as well, especially when they went more electronic.

I love all the different styles these guys have - from the screaming Goth Metal to the classical versions to the choral arrangements on Judas. The wonderful Festival of Love Christmas livestream which introduced me to a number of other bands (and which is still online, BTW).
And of course the top quality funny stuff. The "Matt Bellamy" version of "My Better Me". Chris singing "Let it go". The YMCA parody and its associated rockumentary ("The Goth Metal scene is stupid, and we're a Village People tribute band now." 😂 )
    Tears and laughter. Love them.

This is my first time hearing this band. Really, really nice visuals and a pretty good song. For some reason during the middle of the song, it reminded me of Rammstein...I have no idea why, maybe it was the drums/rhythm that sounded like one of the last songs by Rammstein.

Cyan guitars is a small workshop around Thomas Harm that makes fun guitars. Check out the LED one Chris is using here: th-cam.com/video/gIfV-PK3HzA/w-d-xo.html (from a goth festival in germany, very close to where i live) The most well known artist to use Cyan guitars alot is Farin Urlaub from Die Ärzte, a german punk band who sold over 8 million units and had 8 no 1 albums in germany. Also they have a standing drummer.

    • @TankTheTech

Well, paperwork is pretty much the same everywhere, which is A LOT. But what changes venue to venue is how comfortable the local fire marshal is with you using certain pyro. They're definitely more on edge if it's indoors vs. outdoors.
