Great idea for a horror game monster: someone all stuck in some alien monster robot thing... and the noise they make should just be literal screaming, not evil screaming, but just the person stuck screaming in pain/horror!
The best part of the first scare, from Outlast, is that when you pass the dude the first time, he does absolutely nothing, only jumpscaring you the second time around.
And Outlast 1 wasn't even scary. It was way too predictable. "Do a task", better check for the locker I have to hide in first. Wasn't scary. BUT The Whistleblower DLC....jesus fuck. That's a new level of scary for me.

Bioshock, in a room with fog, you can hear steps around you but couldn't see anything. When you pick up a speed boost potion(If I remember it right) and turn around, a speed boosted splicer is right at your face!! That scared the shit out of me.
PT was the playable teaser for what was going to be Silent Hills, starring Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead. That short demo was the scariest gaming experience of my life. Sadly, the game got cancelled. Fortunately for us, someone decided to take what they were doing and make a new game anyway that's very similar. Not much to it yet, but so far, it looks like it's going to be great. Watch the play through of Allison Road. Wide screen, of course...in the dark. :)

Mmm I don't think it does. They are very different, very very different. The grudge is more of a "I follow you ghost around your home, and there is no way to kill me." In fatal Frame it usually takes place in old houses where a lot of people died after a failure of some type of ritual (usually the person sacrificed is the antagonist). Also the way they fight ghosts is pretty separate, you use a camera to kill them. I think that if fatal Frame took anything from the grudge it would only be the noise some ghosts make, but in Japan most creators make ghosts sound like that (which was originally in the Grudge).
i love that Alma is part of this compilation.. i just started talking to keep my fear in check, and was usually more scared of literally anything else. alma was actually the calming part of the game to me. not sure why, as any scare in a game sets me off, almost tossing my mouse across the room.
On the part I'm talking about, you play as Ashley and Chris and you're walking through the basement, and right after you open a door, there's a demon or something, not a Wendigo.

Instead of explaining the jump scares before they happen, why not explain WHY you gave them away first? This video would've been way better if you would've just named the game, then played the scene and let us decide for ourselves. Also, if these were meant to be in order by scare factor, a few were mixed up, and you also left out some great ones from a few other games.

marcus cruz I get what you mean, it kind of spoils the fun of the scare. I'm still kind of glad they did that though, I get scared pretty easily and this helps a bit.

I don't usually get scared enough by video games to jump out of my seat, but some of these got me haha
This would be much better if the scares had not been told before actually showing them in the video. Sometimes less is more.

I turned my camera to the left (on 1st person) and guess)) the face of the dragon appeared exactly in front of me...i still dont remember how much time I needed to recover from that shock! lol

Instead of explaining the jump scares before they happen, why not explain WHY you gave them away first? This video would've been way better if you would've just named the game, then played the scene and let us decide for ourselves.
Also, if these were meant to be in order by scare factor, a few were mixed up, and you also left out some great ones from a few other games.
To be fair, it's not "the 15 scariest moments in video games". It's a list, not a ranking.
True, but he still shouldn't have explained them first. If I made a list of 'scariest moments', I probably wouldn't include most of these, but he did still ruin a few great moments.
