You have a cat named Hiccup? That is so fantastic and adorable. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW BOOK COMING OUT, THAT MUST BE SO EXCITING! Also, starting a new one!!!! It seems like it's some kind of fiction book, so I am now so incredibly excited to read it! Good luck, Carrie!
I have ebooks too but physical books are unbeatable in my heart. To have my house full of books is the dream. :)) I can't wait for your upcoming book Carrie and the future ones too.
i couldn't stop smiling when you talked about All I Know Now and may or may not have cried a few tears of joy when you said you were writing another book
Hello Carrie! id just like to thank you for your videos, your videos never fail to make me smile and as i have just been diagnosed with anxiety and your videos give me such a lift so thankyou for that, also i have seen you in les mis, (and we met at the stage fdoor which was awesome) and in TWOTW which was the best thing ever as i went into that one kind of blind, i mean i knew the music but id never seen it before. Thanks for everything, Hollie xx
Carrie, I've been watching your videos for a long time now, and you're such an inspiration to me and so many other people. Please keep doing what you do because you're the best honorary big sister anyone could ask for.
Ariel Bissett had this idea on a book panel: When you buy a physical book it needs to come with a code so you can download it on an E Reader. Its perfect. This needs to be a thing.
You are so inspiring to me. I struggle with jealousy and feelings of inadequacy quite a lot. I am being completely honest when I say I've let myself down repeatedly by not being the best that I can be. I have had so many wasted chances in my life. Note: I regret them while accepting the fact that past is past and I'm not a bad person for my flaws. However... one of my greatest regrets is abandoning my creativity. I used to sing solo, in choir, study guitar and piano, go to art school - I've let all of those things go and I don't feel a connection to my creativity before. This new book thing is an amazing example of how creativity feeds creativity. All your singing, songwriting, drawing, playing instruments - you are flexing one big (complex) muscle. I keep telling myself, tomorrow I'm going to pick up a pencil and start learning how to draw... watching you might actually get me to follow through. Thank you!
I'm exactly the same as you. Ebooks are really useful for holidays etc BUT there's something SO BEAUTIFUL about physical books. I'm a complete addict and own a collection that's really getting out of hand now...What I need is a floor to ceiling bookshelves with those amazing slidey ladder thingys *sighs dreamily*
Ebooks are so easy to carry and convinient and honestly an amazing invention.... However, I still haven't gotten used to mine and I've had it for a couple of months already. I use it sometimes but I feel so much more sattisfied and happy when I read a real book. I hope my collection grows as much as yours one day! xx
Ohmygoodness! That signed copy is beautiful! And I totally (now that you mention it) agree with just buying a not gorgeously signed book instead of reading your signed copy, though I myself just used the library for my one signed book that was also a present especially since it's by one of my favorite authors 💚
I'm actually reading les mis at the moment! I fell in love with the movie when I first saw it, and then with the theater production when I went to that (and got to see Carrie as Eponine, which was incredible!!) and now I'm obsessed with the book! It really is a masterpiece and I would totally recommend reading it x
Carrie, you are such a huge inspiration, just a few years ago you made a video about your goals in life and one of them was to write and publish a book and you're now planning a second one (which I really hope becomes a thing). You have achieved so many things in your life, including being an amazing actress/singer/songwriter, so thank you for giving me hope.
I don't mind ebooks but nothing compares to the whole experience of a new book, a proper book. Congratulations on your creativity! I already ordered "All I know now" and can't wait to read this new one that's still mainly on the idea factory haha.
Just hearing how excited you are for your new book idea, makes me excited!! I have know idea what it's about, but I want to read it, you really are a very special person Carrie, love from Oz xx
when ever someone brings up the prospect of never needing physical books i kind of freak out. i love books i love to hold them and smell them and just embrace the pages. its a record of our past held in our hands, even fiction tells you about the history of the time it was written. flipping pages, folding down corners, being able to fall asleep with it in your arms without worrying about cracking the screen of a 100 dollar device is just so beautiful. a book becomes your friend, you take it everywhere, you wear it out, but it's ok because thats how books are supposed to be.
I love that you often talk about books in your videos because I am, just like you, quite a nerd when it comes to books. I have only like 2 friends that I can actually discuss books with, so it's always nice to come here and watch you talk about books :) x
I totally TOTALLY agree!! I love to hold and read a real physical heavy good smelling book, but an ebook is very handy when you're travelling. It sucks though when you're reading a book and you are really into the story and your battery dies... A real book never dies in your hands when you're reading. Oh and I'm very excited for your book! And I love your videos :) X
I have a Kindle, but I find that I remember things better if I read them from a physical book or a physical piece of paper than if I read them on a Kindle or on my laptop. Has anybody else experienced this? It happens to be that I do have a very good memory for details, and I think part of how I form memories as I read is by seeing the words on a particular spot on a page: I usually remember where exactly on a page (left, right, top or bottom) an item appeared, and because the Kindle doesn't use pages that way, I think it throws me off. Anyone else feel this?
I must tell you that I watch a ton of youtube videos. I should say, listen to them. I have them on as i clean my house or as I do some work, or cook or what have you. But one of my favorites is you. Your disposition is so pleasant and you are so fun and informative. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
I have a kindle, and although I absolutely adore the smell and feel of a real book, I also love how easy and convenient my kindle is. I've been in hospital for the past week and being able to just download a book onto my kindle is great!
I love you soo much Carrie and I know all I know now isn't out yet but I am already exited for your next one! I came to see you last February at les miserable and unfortunately you couldn't come out as you had another performance later but I really hope to meet you one day! 💕
I really like my kindle and it's helped me get back into reading in a huge way. I've gone from reading a couple of books a year to 40+, which is a combination of ebooks and physical books. But after a year of mainly reading on my kindle I do miss real books with their colourful covers all lined up on a bookshelf and browsing books online is never ever going to be as enjoyable as browsing in a book shop, except that I can do it in bed :)
Carrie i love your videos so much ! Your one of the my favrote youtubers. You have inspired me so much that i decided to write a book myself. The main character is inspired by you ! I hope you don't mind . And please carry on doing what you do . You are awsome !
hey Carrie so you are bringing out another book as well All I Know Now. OMG OMG i can't wait for both of them.i agree on your opinion on ebooks. :) xxxx
Ever since I got a Kindle, I have been reading at least 100 books a year. No joke. It is so fantastic to be able to buy sequels RIGHT AWAY so you never have to wait to know what happens. I love my Kindle so much :)
I have a Kindle but I've only ever bought two books that I knew I wasn't going to particularly like anyway. I'm like that with movies and tv shows and music too - a lot of my friends watch shows online and meanwhile I'm patiently waiting for the next season to come out on DVD so I can catch up... I like being surrounded by the art and stories I love, instead of having them in a series of 0s and 1s on a piece of a hardware. When I got my fancy hardback version of Great Gatsby I promptly spilled my tea all over it, and my huge flowery fancy Jane Eyre copy is covered with strawberry juice (it smells great though). I feel the struggle, Carrie! Xx
Hiccup is so adorable! I have a kindle and I use that if I want to take a series or books away or a big book. I took Les Mis away to Spain with me on my kindle so I still had room in my suitcase!
For my 16th birthday I asked for a waterstones voucher so armed with 30 quid I practically ran to waterstones and just sat on the carpet for hours reading the first page of pretty much every book in the shop, I settled on the minaturist because honestly it sounds so enchanting but im still reafing one day and the time travelers wife! I have too many books
bless your excited squeal! when i read a lot rather than doing coursework in school i'm certain i'd have 2 reading books in my bag, one game of thrones and another random book ...then my schoolcrap and my wreck this journal D:

I bought myself a kindle a couple of years ago and personally I love it. It's really useful because, obviously, I can take lots of books with me without them taking up space and adding extra weight. After getting it I started buying any new books I wanted on kindle because they were cheaper and it was more convenient, especially since I'd almost completely filled up my bookshelves. However, I was given an actual book for Christmas this year and in the process of reading that I realised that I had in fact missed having a physical copy of a book so I've recently started reading proper books again. I still love my kindle and am continuing to read ebooks but it's also really nice to read a physical copy of a book sometimes so I'm a fan of both.
I love to read books on my iPhone or iPad. I like that I can choose the size of the font so I can make it really big when I'm tired and I love that when I find a word I don't know I just highlight the word and can get a definition right away. But I prefer to shop for physical books. I like looking at the covers and reading the blurbs. I can't wait to read your book in a couple months. Stay awesome!
ATTENTION (not a self promo, i promise... its something much, much better!) Everyone who lives in London - or anywhere with a functional transportation system - should learn how to make origami dragons (or anything else origami) and then leave them on the trains or buses with their twitter or instagram name on the thing that they left. (It could even be just their name and a little note.) Then, if another hopeful finds it, they can follow whatever handle the person left and it would be such an awesome way to show the power of the hopeful nation. I got given a kindle for Christmas, which has massively increased my reading (holding books for a long time hurts my hands, it's annoying a heck) but there's something magical about physical books.
Wow what an amazing start to your year Carrie! Wishing you the absolute best for everything. With you on the library idea - I've always wanted my own, nothing better than a 'real' book. Happy days. :))
I would say my book purchases these days are about 75% ebooks to 25% actual books. The ebooks started to become more handy when I started running out of bookshelf space and wanting to buy even more books/take more books out with me. Now my kindle is the perfect solution and I still buy physical books on occasion too.
Carrie! Im so excited for your book I've already pre-ordered it, and I would love to read anything else you write! If your agent is already on board with this book then I'm excited to see what its about. Good luck love and keep up the good work, you make me smile every day! x
You inspire me so so much. You are literally doing the exact things I want to do with my life, writing books and acting, and it makes me feel like if you can do it then maybe I can do it too. Thank you Carrie. :)
I get you, there is something beautiful about physical books, but then again ebooks are pretty handy too
-A,x
Nice seeing you on Carrie's channel :) Love your videos
I love you two! Have a Nice day ^-^
I loved the story about how you got the signed book. Exciting that you're writing away again! :D
I love the Dear Tom & Gi videos
You have a cat named Hiccup? That is so fantastic and adorable. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW BOOK COMING OUT, THAT MUST BE SO EXCITING! Also, starting a new one!!!! It seems like it's some kind of fiction book, so I am now so incredibly excited to read it! Good luck, Carrie!

Seeing Looking For Alaska on the backround distracts me SO MUCHHH! Best book ever!

OH MY GOD, I LOVE The Miniaturist!
I'M READING THE MINIATURIST RIGHT NOW. Wow that's cool. I am so gripped by it at night time.
The miniaturist is such an amazing book, highly recommend it!
the Miniaturist is such a good book!!!!! I'm loving it, so well written and surprising
Carrie, I've been watching your videos for a long time now, and you're such an inspiration to me and so many other people. Please keep doing what you do because you're the best honorary big sister anyone could ask for.

I can't ever see myself switching to eBooks. The feeling of having the physical copy of a book in my hands is part of the experience for me!
I'm so excited to read your book Carrie! Xx
Can't wait for both your new books now then Carrie! and I 100% agree on having a physical copy for the library :) xxx

I'm so excited about this potential new read.
there is a romance with books that exists and can't be replaced with ebooks. I am with you on that one.
I'm gonna buy your book as soon as it comes out-i can't WAIT!!!
Can't wait to read your book Carrie, and have it on my book shelf:) xx
So happy for you Carrie!! Can't wait to read All I Know Now and really curious about this new project!!

That is the coolest story Carrie! I love Jessie Burton and I just bought a copy of the Miniaturist recently!
Love the All Star Family Fortunes Mug Carrie !! It was so much fun working on the show :D
You know. When you get all nerdy about books my chest gets all tight with happiness :) thanks for that.
I don't mind ebooks but nothing compares to the whole experience of a new book, a proper book. Congratulations on your creativity! I already ordered "All I know now" and can't wait to read this new one that's still mainly on the idea factory haha.

I didn't know it was alright to fall in love with a book character you created yourself! 💕 ily carrie xx
Oh, I had no idea that David Nicholls had a new book out. Thank you! I love his writing style
Ever since I got a Kindle, I have been reading at least 100 books a year. No joke. It is so fantastic to be able to buy sequels RIGHT AWAY so you never have to wait to know what happens. I love my Kindle so much :)

That's crazy about the book incident! I once brought a Jacqueline Wilson book when I was younger and it was signed!! I cried.
bless your excited squeal!

I feel exactly the same way as you carrie! I love my books so much and I am trying to figure a way to take them with me to college! Love you xxx
YEEAAH a second book!
And great vid Carrie. Maybe I should start reading ebooks too
Just noticed the Wind on Fire trilogy in your background. One of my favourite series of books :) I can never find over people who've read them
I know what you mean about e-books. I resisted kindle for years, and then I wanted to read the Charles Paris books and found they were only available on kindle so I had to get one. Now I love it. I like the convenience, not having to carry my book around and risk it getting damaged. I also tend to read quite large, and thus heavy, books and the kindle is so much lighter. The only thing is it tends to be more expensive, because when I really like a book I want a physical copy as well as the kindle edition. I can't wait to read your fiction book! I'll probably fall in love with the male protagonist too- somethings are inevitable.
Totally agree about buying books as well as the ebook. Convenient it may be, but you just can't beat a beautiful physical book
That story about David Nicholls is the best! I love him and his books)))
Oh my god I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see what you're writing :D
Oh my carrie- not only am I ecstatic for all I know now, but I'm now immensely excited for this novel!! 😱
Omg I love the intro, seriously it made my day!!!! Xx
love you carrie!
I love my kindle as it is like having a library in my hands. It is really handy but it doesn't mean I don't like my books on my bookshelf.
I love physical books more than ebooks, but I respect that they're much more convenient sometimes.
ATTENTION (not a self promo, i promise... its something much, much better!)
Everyone who lives in London - or anywhere with a functional transportation system - should learn how to make origami dragons (or anything else origami) and then leave them on the trains or buses with their twitter or instagram name on the thing that they left. (It could even be just their name and a little note.) Then, if another hopeful finds it, they can follow whatever handle the person left and it would be such an awesome way to show the power of the hopeful nation.
We could call it operation: hopeful or something.
Whoever sees this and thinks it is a good idea, give it a thumbs up so more people can see it and we can actually make this thing happen.
