I've met the guy who originally wrote camp rock with his sister until they took the 5 drafts they had done and let the people who wrote Hannah Montana re write it...
I never kept a diary for long when growing up, but I did keep a spy book and I would spy my neighboors and write it down like Harriet, the spy lol. I actually found out who was causing a certain problem on the street and had all these gears, like binoculars and stuff. It was fun.
I also had a pirate phase, I wore a bandana everywhere and I had various bracelets with skulls and crossbones and shells and other crap, so you weren't alone there carrie ;) xx
Does anyone else really want to hear Carrie sing all of "Stanly's Dad" Don't feel bad about dressing as a Pirate to see Pirates of the Carrabian when you were 16 I dressed as the doctor, Paul Mcgann's (8th, wig and all) to see the day of the doctor, yes that was a few months ago I was 22, now I am 23
I've kept diaries on and off. They're really handy while I'm writing, clearing my head and that, but definitely uncomfortable to read back later. Might bury them in the garden one day, for some future person to marvel at (in a tin so they don't rot)
This is me re-watching all your old videos and remembering how I started this journey with you just a few months later you start it. It's awesome and emotional. I love your old videos (and new, too) it reminds me my old me too. Love from Venezuela Xx (even if we are the less loved country right now)
It's funny because my old diary (where ever it is) would be entries about McFly (Dougie was my fave) and Busted (obvs Charlie) hahaha. I can't believe that was over 10 years ago...
It thinks it's so important to have those memories of who you were when you were younger, maybe they make you cringe but it's great to remember the things you loved, what made you happy or sad when you were 15!
Carrie my poster arrived today in the mail and I would just like to thank you so so much for signing it!! You don't understand how happy I was when I got it, I was literally running around my house screaming ^.^ xx
i love these dear tom and dear carrie videos a lot! i feel like you guys kind of capture the "old days" vlogbrohters vibe of a genuine conversation between siblings.
You're so inspirational and such a gorgeous girl inside and out! I absolutely enjoy everyone of your videos and smile everytime i hear your voice! Please continue to inspire me Carrie!! Love you lots!
WOO "Wicked" in the shelf! When I was in London last year I bought the book Wicked!!! And I met you for the first time! Amazing I'll never forget these weeks!
Anjali Mehra They did completely ruin it, they ruined every bit of it, rushed it through and I'm not even entirely sure Christopher Paolini was included in the production at all...and if he was he really sold out... I watched the whole movie praying it would get better and it just...didn't. My fellow Eragon fans at school all declared that we should murder the director...
A little off topic but I just wanted to say congrats about you and Alex; I really hope it works out for you two and you'll be even happier than you ever were!xx
Omg wow Carrie, I didn't know your birthday is on the 22nd! Mine is the 23rd! You are such a big inspiration!!! Only just discovered these vlogs and they are so lovely. Happy birthday for Thursday! Xxxx
I kept a diary (well, three diaries) when I was 13-14 and every once in a while I'll read some parts and I cringe. I'm pretty sure we're all like that. I'll probably look back at my 17 year old self in a few years and cringe some more.
this might be my new favourite video of yours carrie, you really are my honorary big sister- showing me that even the best people were once cringey teenagers
I love that Carrie was such a normal teenager but with the slight twist that she had the opportunity to meet celebs and go to premiers because of Tom and she acted just as any 14 year old would have, fab :)
My best friend and I ALSO dressed up as pirates for the At World's End premiere, and it was awesome. Super dressed up for all the Harry Potter ones, and me and my college friends now dress up for the Hunger Games ones. And we all wear our Doctor Who tshirts when we watch the show together (so does my mom). It's just fun!!
yeah I did the same thing as a teenager. wrote down every single thing that happened to me. I found one of my old diaries a couple years back and just cried at how cringe-worthy i was back then. ugh.
The song Stacy's Mom follows me everywhere! It came out around 6 months after my daughter Stacey was born and ever since people have just sung it to me.x
I sometimes look through my dairy from when I was 11 and I was awful like really awful. I'm a teenager now and right now I don't think that I'm that bad but in like 5 years I might look back and realize that I actually am extremely awful
I've written daily for 42 years. Some of it is certainly cringe worthy, but if you keep at it, it may reward you with wisdom in the years to come. And I add, I never wrote for the journal, always stream-of-consciousness. I think that makes it more of a 'chronicle' than a 'journal' or 'diary'. Good luck to you! =Maine=
At 18 I'm still like that which is shameful :') I had genuine withdrawal symptoms from the ghost of you and watched the video 7 times. This was on Wednesday. I miss the dear tom videos :(
Ahhh Carrie I was extremely head over heals for Lil Chris when I was younger!! I still have his CD and pretty sure if I looked hard enough some love letters to him oh lord. He was very irrelevant at my school so I forgot he existed?? but you've just reminded me of my "Checkin' It Out" Lil Chris days xx
I love this - you were a perfect teenager! Over dramatic with feelings all over the place (just like the rest of us) Good job for keeping such a detailed diary, so you can actually remember these things.. Thanks for being brave enough to share ;)
Omg she got to meet so many singers bc of her brother I would have freaked out if i got to meet the jonas brothers and camp rock was my favourite film ever till I watched the pirates of the caribbean series for the 1st time, then the 3rd part was my new favourite film hahaha
OMG Lil Chris! that was the first Up Close N Personal tour because my friend and I came to the Carlisle show from USA to see the show and saw Lil Chris there. Was crazy.
most people who are like 18-19 right now went through the MCR stage, well i certainly did and fall out boy, black eyeliner, sad song, aaah, this video made me think of my past and now i want to find my old diary
I have/d a diary, except I never wrote in it regularly, but I love seeing my thoughts on all my crushes... it's quite amusing, and you can tell how confused about life I am by how regularly I write in the journal There are still somethings that have taken me a long time to tell people, but now and for the last few years since I've been in secondary school and found good friends I always tell at least one person about my deepest thoughts- I'm like an open book now and it makes me happy; just like your videos Carrie xx
Haha! This was adorable. I've journaled most of my life. Yours is hilarious! So brave to share it, I would hate to let anyone know what my journals from when I was a teenager were like!
okay, can I just say I am INSANELY jealous you met Kevin Jonas? the Jonas Brothers were my idols as a teenager and were such a huge part of me growing up. they're actually the reason I got back into singing at 14, and Kevin inspired me to learn guitar. yep, I'm cool.
I kept a diary of my trip to Greece when I was 7... I read it and I just think "oh goodness I can't believe I was like that." And my handwriting was really bad. It's not much better now... Carrie's handwriting looked really nice and pretty and neat. :)
When Carrie said "Who do you think would win out of dragon and dinosaur fight" an did the noises my dog jumped up and barked at the computer. Scared the crap out of me.
This was amazing! My heart skipped a beat when you said the fourth of june because that's my birthday haha. I've always wanted to keep track of a diary, because I would love to read it when I'm older, but I just can't do it. I've tried it multiple times and I failed pretty hard each time...
Believe me, Carrie, you were NOT the only teenager to have a diary like this. I'm thinking about the diary I kept when I was 14/15... Yeah, I don't want to read that again.
Actually I dressed like a pirate too!!... but when the 2nd one came out :D And I won't even mention Harry Potter robes, or Harry Potter scarfs, or a Bellatrix disguise...
When 'At the world's end" premiered here, my cousin's friend was dressed up as a pirate too... She wore a red scarf, an alike shirt, boots and the only thing missing was a sword. But as the cinema is in a mall... I doubt they would let her in carrying a weapon. You also said about the Twilight movie... I guess you haven't seen 'The city of bones'. Believe me: This one managed to be even worse, with several things that there is on the book and could perfectly to be on the film. But no. They screwed up every single thing. I laughed at your little snore after reading the bit about Kevin Jonas. So cute! (I won't even get started on how lovely you were when younger :)) And I love your interpretations when reading. xD
Love your eye make up here, Carrie! Also, yes; all teenagers are like that :). Haha...And I went to the theatre dressed as a pirate for the midnight showing of the second Pirates film!
This is brilliant!! I'm gonna be 21 in April and this video brought back so many memories from my early teenage years. I too had a crush on Lil' Chris and was obsessed with My Chemical Romance and Twilight. Even though it's cringey now it's so funny to look back, made me wish that I had kept a journal :)
I like to go through my smash books every now and again. Have you heard of one? It doesn't have to be bought by a big company or anything. It can be made using a notebook and any and every thing you have in your life already. It's a great alternative to a diary and quite fun. But I like diary writing too.
I have diaries from when I was eleven or twelve and THEY'RE HORRIFIC. I made a little more sense when I turned 13 because that's when I joined a bigger school and sort of grew up. I feel you, Carrie (Though I kind of liked Camp Rock. I hated the movie for Eragon. Read the book! it's so much better)
I meant it to be Stanley's Dad. Stanley. Like the name. Similar to Stacey. But everyone's jumped to Stan Lee's dad like the comic book artist! XD xxx
Please post a vid of you singing the whole thing! It sounds brilliant!
I definitely thought you meant Stan Lee's Dad and was worried about your mental health for a moment... WOO!
Please, post a full clip of this. Actually sounds pretty good.
I've met the guy who originally wrote camp rock with his sister until they took the 5 drafts they had done and let the people who wrote Hannah Montana re write it...
Please post the full lyrics
God. 15 year old Carrie sounds eerily similar to 15 year old me. Maybe that's just how all teenagers are...
i wrote a diary for 20 years. i've just got back in to it (these past few days). this time it's digital and has a password. i've learned! x
I read the words "Tom" and "Diary" and immediately thought "Oh, yay, she's doing a video about Harry Potter!"
I think we all cringe when we read our old diaries, but that's good, it shows that we have grown up and mature at least a bit!!!
I never kept a diary for long when growing up, but I did keep a spy book and I would spy my neighboors and write it down like Harriet, the spy lol. I actually found out who was causing a certain problem on the street and had all these gears, like binoculars and stuff. It was fun.
This sound somewhat like the diary I had when I was 14/15. I tried to be really dramatic and it's now painful to read.
I also had a pirate phase, I wore a bandana everywhere and I had various bracelets with skulls and crossbones and shells and other crap, so you weren't alone there carrie ;) xx
That genuinely sounds like a description of me! haha xxx
This is what Johnny Depp can do to a person aha :) xxx
Does anyone else really want to hear Carrie sing all of "Stanly's Dad"
Don't feel bad about dressing as a Pirate to see Pirates of the Carrabian when you were 16
I dressed as the doctor, Paul Mcgann's (8th, wig and all) to see the day of the doctor, yes that was a few months ago
I was 22, now I am 23
idk why but i felt the need to watch this after Lil' Chris dying the other day, he was way too young to die :(
I thought the same
I can't believe you met the jonas brothers. teenage me is so jealous of you.
same
Oh Carrie, if I ever want a good laugh, I pull out my old diary. I was a dramatic teenager...a very dramatic teenager.
I've kept diaries on and off. They're really handy while I'm writing, clearing my head and that, but definitely uncomfortable to read back later. Might bury them in the garden one day, for some future person to marvel at (in a tin so they don't rot)
haha, when you said Stanley's Dad, for some reason my mind thought you had meant Stan Lee's dad.....yeah....
This is me re-watching all your old videos and remembering how I started this journey with you just a few months later you start it. It's awesome and emotional. I love your old videos (and new, too) it reminds me my old me too. Love from Venezuela Xx (even if we are the less loved country right now)
Please record Stanley's Dad. For me :)
I am thoroughly enjoying these Dear Tom/ Dear Carrie videos. They are all so good, I love them!
i love these dear tom and dear carrie videos a lot! i feel like you guys kind of capture the "old days" vlogbrohters vibe of a genuine conversation between siblings.
Spotted my book just poking out on the shelf on your left. Glad to know you received it. Hope you liked it. You're the best.
tbh your diary sounds more well written than mine ever were, honestly the things you look back at and cringe over... *shivers*
I love that she puts a teenage boy voice on
Stacey's mum is one of my favourite songs and now I will forever sing Stanley's dad. Amazing.
Stanley's Dad deserves a whole video devoted to it.
Eragon? Please tell me you read the book series by Christopher Paolini. The movie was major let down after reading the book!
I only read the books and avoided even looking at the DVD cover. I just couldn't imagine them making a good film out of it.
Tefans97 i only saw the trailer and that was enough! they ruined it!!
Carrie I love this little seires with you and your brother. Your just so talented😊
I want to hear the rest of stanley's dad!
I also went to see At World's End dressed as a pirate and it was fabulous, so don't you dare ever feel bad about that.
Omg wow Carrie, I didn't know your birthday is on the 22nd! Mine is the 23rd! You are such a big inspiration!!! Only just discovered these vlogs and they are so lovely. Happy birthday for Thursday! Xxxx

You just gained like another million points for me with the MCR bit! Who would have guessed you like them too!
This video is one I always come back to when I'm down. If nothing else works I'll keep replaying the bit about the nasa patch til j feel better xx
I'm glad I'm not the only one that goes back through my old diaries and just can't believe how much of an annoying person I was
I'm loving this series of videos!
I love that Carrie was such a normal teenager but with the slight twist that she had the opportunity to meet celebs and go to premiers because of Tom and she acted just as any 14 year old would have, fab :)

yeah I did the same thing as a teenager. wrote down every single thing that happened to me. I found one of my old diaries a couple years back and just cried at how cringe-worthy i was back then. ugh.
Please please please make a video going through more of your journel!!! So funny!!!

Good job for keeping such a detailed diary, so you can actually remember these things.. Thanks for being brave enough to share ;)
omg i used to looooove lil chris, i used to watch his music videos and interviews 24/7 :')
Jesus Carrie, i wasn't really like that in my teens but I can't help feeling that you did being a teenager RIGHT!
Omg she got to meet so many singers bc of her brother I would have freaked out if i got to meet the jonas brothers and camp rock was my favourite film ever till I watched the pirates of the caribbean series for the 1st time, then the 3rd part was my new favourite film hahaha

Carrie your videos are my favourites on TH-cam, I love themmmm
I was so like this as a teenager. How embarrassing
At least you're not alone! xxx
Haha! This was adorable. I've journaled most of my life. Yours is hilarious! So brave to share it, I would hate to let anyone know what my journals from when I was a teenager were like!
I honestly though of Tom Riddle when reading the title :D
That picture is Tom is very appropriate for every single celebratory occasion
"It's got firebreathing" - definitely the phrase of a Magic: The Gathering player, that.
okay, can I just say I am INSANELY jealous you met Kevin Jonas? the Jonas Brothers were my idols as a teenager and were such a huge part of me growing up. they're actually the reason I got back into singing at 14, and Kevin inspired me to learn guitar. yep, I'm cool.
I think I prefer 'Stanley's Dad'. :)
You would Stacy! ;)
as a fellow Stacey, I have to agree .
that song drove me insane !
I kept a diary of my trip to Greece when I was 7... I read it and I just think "oh goodness I can't believe I was like that." And my handwriting was really bad. It's not much better now... Carrie's handwriting looked really nice and pretty and neat. :)
Just going to say this... There is nothing wrong with dressing up for premiers... Lol.
When Carrie said "Who do you think would win out of dragon and dinosaur fight" an did the noises my dog jumped up and barked at the computer. Scared the crap out of me.
Little Chris 😭 it's so sad
The Day the Crayons Quit is on your book case. i love that book.
I read back my Facebook statuses from 2009 when I was 15/16 and cringed the whole way through
I'm so happy because I'm coming to see you as eponine in les Miserables in March!!!
Omg I loved lil' Chris! I was obsessed with his song 'checking it out'. I wonder what he's doing now...
This was amazing! My heart skipped a beat when you said the fourth of june because that's my birthday haha. I've always wanted to keep track of a diary, because I would love to read it when I'm older, but I just can't do it. I've tried it multiple times and I failed pretty hard each time...

CARRIE LIKES MCR STOP EVERYTHING THIS IS AMAZING IM WAY TO EXCITED ABOUT THIS DISCOVERY
Actually I dressed like a pirate too!!... but when the 2nd one came out :D
And I won't even mention Harry Potter robes, or Harry Potter scarfs, or a Bellatrix disguise...
Just ordered a hopeful tshirt yesterday i'm so excited :D
That was amazing... I'm still a teenager so I have a feeling I'll be reacting just like u in a couple years
2:54-2:59 had me in hysterics! Loved this video, glad I'm not the only one who's absolutely mortified looking back on their teenage years!
Edward is clearly not a vampire he lives in the woods, he doesn't eat people and he sparkles he's obviously a fairy
My Chemical Romance? excuse while I go and cry
+smilinglikeadaisy Holy shit I didn't even know they broke up. 15-17 year old me is a little bit heartbroken
This sounds exactly like my journaling. Not sure what that says, except that you aren't the only one Carrie.
The fact that you said the words my chemical romance is making me cry with joy ^^
My Chemical Romance...yes Carrie you legend.
Aww, the first post she read out was from my birthday :') reminds me so much of a Wicked journal that I used to write in loads haha
OMG ! Carrie your not the only one who did/does that kinda stuff.. wow haha! x
When 'At the world's end" premiered here, my cousin's friend was dressed up as a pirate too... She wore a red scarf, an alike shirt, boots and the only thing missing was a sword. I like the fact that your not ashamed to admit you like the twilight books.
"Ch-ch-ch-checking it out!" That's going to be in my head forever.....
Love your eye make up here, Carrie!
Also, yes; all teenagers are like that :). Haha...And I went to the theatre dressed as a pirate for the midnight showing of the second Pirates film!

We have the same birthday!!! I love it when I find another person born on Oct 22!
Hearing about mcr and your thoughts on twilight have gained you a lot more respect from me:)
yay this was filmed on my birthday :D i found some of my old diary's are so cringey
Yes classic teenage stuff. And BTW you have such an amazing personality!!! Love your videos!!!
Love your videos and how you tell things! You're awesome and very funny! :)
Favourite video so far 😍😍😍
As beautiful and inspirational as always xx :)
