  • Hey loves!
On December 4, 2020 I had a total hysterectomy and left side salpingo ooporectomy. I posted a video of my must haves for after a hysterectomy. A lot of people asked me to share the reason for my total hysterectomy so here it is :)

I had my hysterectomy a week and a half ago due to fibroids and adenomyosis. For the last few months leading up to my surgery I never stopped bleeding and the pain was unbearable. I feel so much better now.

I got my hysterectomy cause I didn’t want kids. Turns out I had cysts forming and fibroids or something. So I’m glad I got it out when I did cause I am NOT about to deal with this for no reason.
I have a very small dose of estrogen as a patch to keep my bones healthy. But I am 1 week post op and LOVING LIFE!! Such an easy surgery to have and to recover from. I was in 0 pain after 24hrs. 0. Just sore here and there.
I am a person that seriously believes that if you are done having kids, don’t want kids, or are in a lot of pain… just get the surgery. It’s so pointless to keep them in just for them to cause you pain 🤷🏼‍♂️ 💖

@@LailaLaTishaBradford I have the same Adenomyosis and fibroids, but told mine are small. I finally decided to do the hysto but now my Dr is now saying the hysterectomy may not resolve all of the symptoms because I’m keeping my ovaries. Now I’m torn whether to do it or not. I’m tired of the pain, the bleeding, and pressure and feel my quality of life sucks but afraid to do this surgery and still feel the same. 😩

@Mzbrneyz1 I will tell you it was the best thing for me. My quality of life is so much better. I wake up smiling knowing all that pain, discomfort, and the dreadful bleeding is no more. I was painful for about three weeks after my hysterectomy; I mean i was not prepared for it, but I'm so happy I did it. I kept my ovaries and so for I have been good. Best of luck. Your quality of life will improve.

I will be getting one in the near future because I have several huge fibroids. A 56 year old woman should not look pregnant.😦 Plus my mother died from ovarian cancer. It's just time. I do fear the recovery pain as I cannot take any meds except Motrin & Tylenol. Plus I'm very fearful of post op depression.

    • @Evita_Raylena
      @Evita_Raylena  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I’m sorry for the loss of your mother. ❤️
I didn’t really feel any pain so Motrin or Tylenol may be fine. As long as you have a good support system depression may be avoidable. ❤️❤️
Hope all goes well with your surgery ❤️❤️❤️

I just had mine today and I am home. I had everything removed 😢. I had PCOS for 24 years and I had irregular period until I went for fertility in 1999 treatments and then stopped it, so I was irregular again until I was on bc until 2009 when I got regular after moving in with my then bf and his two teen daughters. But they were still heavy and painful. They got diagnosed with iCS with pelvic floor dysfunction. Then in 2017, I had the Mirena iud to help but it was more painful and had it removed 3 months later. Then in 2018, I had uterine ablation done, which helped for about e year but then the pain and the pcos got worse and I was tired of it. Went to my obgyn who wanted a biopsy done before we did the laproscopic one taking everything out and now waiting to see what happens 😮.

I've been diagnosed 27yrs ago with endometriosis . I've had 2 repair surgery and 3 laps. 2011 I was placed on birth control pills and depot shots to stop my cycle all to together. 2020 I was planning the surgery but COVID came and no. 2021 I couldn't because I had COVID and it took 10 months to recover. Jan 22, I'm done I went to a different gyn, ultrasound showed fibroids and endometriosis that was all over the place. The week before surgery I bleed like a river. I wish I would've done this 10 years ago

      Hi Bethesda,
I share a similar story of fibroids as yours. I was diagnosed with fibroids during an ultrasound when I was 27 yrs. I had one open myomectomy after that immediately. I was then put on birth control for one and half years , but new fibroids kept coming back. Then COVID happened in 2020 and we did not plan for a year .lot conceive. In mid 2021, Doctor advised for IVF and we have 5 embryos freezes since he didn’t want to give time to fibroids to grow. I had a second myomectomy since 3 fibroids were in the cavity. I got pregnant with freezed embryos in 2022 June but had a miscarriage at 7 weeks . I decided to try HIFU , acupuncture, eastern medicine , nothing worked . Fibroids grew back really bad, 10 fibroids now. One measuring 15 cm. Hence my doctor advised for total open hysterectomy but to retain ovaries. M at the hospital now. Recovering well. 5 yrs of fibroid pain and struggle has come to an end.
Sorry for the long post. Tc❤

I had my hysterectomy (took everything except the ovaries) last week. Never had children. My fibroid mass grew outside of the uterus and doubled the size of my uterus!!! Had mine for pretty much the same reasons you had yours. What did your abscess feel like? Is it the same thing as a seroma? I have this fluid around the incision site which feels odd. Left a message for the doctor but also trying to research on my own. THANK YOU!🙏🏿

Hello. How would you go about talking to your doctor for a hysterectomy? I just turned 25 almost 2 weeks ago. I'm wanting one because of heavy nonstop bleeding. I literally just got done bleeding 20 days straight and I'm on Birth control. I was told by my mother that uncontrollable uterine bleeding runs in the family and the only way to fix it is a hysterectomy or experimental medicine. I'm scared to talk to my dad because he's very old school. And laughed in my face when I said I wanted one before. But this pain and the bleeding is horrible and I also have PCOS and fibroids too. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
