Nice video but I have an even better method. When I'm reeling them up to the boat they just pop right off, especially the big ones! Sometimes they even take the lure with them.
Thanks a lot for this video. I’m 12 years old and I’m going fishing by myself for the first time, I’m scared of hurting the fish so I’ve been looking for easy way to free the fish without causing harm.
Awww its alright bud. i am 23 still dont like unhooking the fish because I feel too bad for them. Especially if the hook is hard to get out or injured the fish.
I am 62 years old and have been fishing most of my life and have never seen this. Well your never to old to learn something new. Sure wish I would have learned this years ago. I was raised with 4 older sisters and cannot remember how many fish i had to remove for them and their friends. Love Y'all !!!
Thank you so much! I’m going fishing by myself for the first time and I always have had a family member de hook it for me since I don’t know how to do it but I will definitely try the first one
hey Robert my dad taught me a trick with catfish when I was a kid. If you ever get poked by one just rub the spot where you got poked, on the belly of a catfish and the stinging feeling goes right away. I hope that it helps in the future. -jesse
@@titantubeultimate9570 Yeah it's actually kinda funny I got pricked a few weeks ago because after watching videos like these I was kinda scared but I just washed with soap and water and it was fine. Hurt like hell though. Now I'm better with em.
I’m so going to try this. Going fishing for the first time by myself and not wanting to touch or hurt the fish is what makes me nervous!! Thank you and I hope I can make this work if I catch anything!!
Very nice tricks for fishing, nice bullheads! Glad to hear Aria in back ground, saying you did it wrong! Love you guy's God bless Emma, make her strong!
the quality of his recent videos has been exponentially and amazingly better. I think a lot of us would love to see a reworked version that is compiled into one.
already have caught a 30# Blue Cat off of these (going to try to get a 60#+ next year). th-cam.com/users/postUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 Definitely very strong, and sharp. Additionally, the gap is wide enough to actually hook a fish (not always the case with circle hooks). I purchased the 8/0, but probably should have got the 9/0 (they seem slightly smaller than other 8/0 hooks). Additionally, having the point in-line helps if you drift fish. I have yet to get a serious snag with one of these hooks.
Itd be cool to see you do a catch and cook off all the native Florida species like striped bass, cobia, snook, pompano, grouper, lionfish. You could even make it an educational series like focusing in on the particular species adding facts in for fun then cooking them up :)
Hey Rob, don't know why it's not putting my picture up but anyway...I was thinking the other day...Heaven is going to be a lot more fun because you are going to be there! Jeff Fletcher here...I'm in Jacksonville and me and the wife are going to come down one weekend and camp out at your door until we get to meet you! Love you and your family!!!!
never a time I didn't enjoyed your videos, get all excited when I see a notification. Been watching some of your earliest videos, when you were driving across the river for crocodiles, man your a fast 🏊 swimmer, crazy too. those videos Respect life in the outdoors, I really, really enjoyed, there exciting.
I am going to need to show this one to my niece ...Or maybe not since it makes me feel manly when she asks for help taking the fish off!! Great Video guys, love what you guys are doing and putting out
Man Rob, that's slicker than catfish skin! Just when I 'thought' I knew it all, you blow me away with the simplest tricks. I'LL never get 'cat barbed' again. You da man! Thanks!
Went out fishing for the first time today. Caught a very small perch and had to kill it because I had no equipment and didnt know how to get the hook out. It was too small for me to get a finger in and it had swallowed the hook. Feel pretty bad about it but I knocked it out first so hopefully it didnt feel much
Thank you so much! I am going to go fishing and was having anxiety about how to de-hook "if" I do catch any fish lol. I always had someone I go with take it off for me but today it will be me by myself .
I'm here because it's a pandemic and the men in my family would never let me do this kind of thing by myself. Can't wait for spring so I can get my own rod and start fishing for real!

Hey Robert. Just bought an awesome silver stag woods and water deer meat for dinner edition knife. Wanted to say thanks for all u do. Love the knife, keep up the good work!!
Thank you so much. I wish I knew this sooner. I had a really bad experience where a monster cat swallowed a double treble hook lure. I was only able to get one hook out as he completely swallowed the lure :( I had to let him go with the lure hanging out of his mouth likely to die and me feeling like I never want to fish again 😢
Awsome video!! and awsome couple, both of you are beautiful inside and out... keep the videos coming, we are learning a LOT from you guys! Bob from ...Philippines
Really enjoyed this thank you. I’m very new to fishing and I have heard of you hold the fish wrong they can hurt you ? I mean I do canal fishing catching roach and carp etc anything I should look out for when handling these beautiful fish 🐟?
Awesome tips. I really like the idea of using the rod to get the hook out. Next slimy old cat fish is coming off that way...coat hanger isn't something I'd keep with me for sure, great tip though.
Robert-You can also grab the catfish from the bottom so you only have to contend with the two side spikes and ignore the back spine because it is away from your hand. You still have to deal with the catfish slime but again, no spine pokes.
Never seen them tricks before. Pretty cool I always use my index finger and middle finger and hook each fin.knuckles on the belly to get a good grip to get the hook out. Gonna have to try these out thanks for the awesome videos.
Now Rob, in Florida, people have a habit of releasing pythons into the wild if they don't want them or can't afford them, and this creatures are a nuisance. Have you come across any signs of them on your ranch or even in and around you camp? Pythons are stealthy and will attack anybody, if you have come across them how do you get rid of them, and they multiply like wild hogs. Thanks Rob!
I've never been hunting and only been fishing a handful of times, but I watch every single one of your videos. I life in the city and oh how fast I would trade it for this life style.
Locking hemostats. Locks on my shirt pocket ready to use. Grab hook shank and turn. Fish drops right off. I don't like to touch trout if possible when catch and release. Cool trick with the pole though.
@@c78c73 I tried it and, it didnt work. But I at first tried it on bass. When I tried on catfish same thing. Didn't work. Maybe I was doing it wrong or something.
Cool trick, I'm an avid fisherman and I've honestly never seen that before lol. I'll make sure to wrap my hanger around the next 30" snook and make them panties drop. 🎣
Hello once again Rob, in the olden days they used to roast a whole hog at once, you don't see that nowadays and again is a very kind request, would you please do one, and the technique you would use to roast it properly, and what ingredients you would use to make it delicious. Thanks
Nice video but I have an even better method. When I'm reeling them up to the boat they just pop right off, especially the big ones! Sometimes they even take the lure with them.

That’s the sign of a good fisherman, none of us should be wanting to harm the fish unless we’re eating them.

proceeds to whip out coat hanger
Herman Wooster that’s because that fish swallowed it dumbass
He’s making a joke chill out
Technically, a coat hanger is not a tool, rather it's a coat hanger.
