I love Anne Murray & this cover of this Beatles song.Which is better than the Beatles version. This rendition with Chicago must be close to 50 years old when i was 13.I love seeing these videos.Keep them coming.
Funny, for years as a young Loretta Lynn fan, I rejected Anne Murray outright. She was rock after all, why did they sometimes play her on COUNTRY radio?? Then I bought the “Let’s Keep It That Way” album. I was hooked. I went back and bought her older records and this one was one of my favorites.
One of my favorite female altos. Talk about a rich powerful voice. Had the pleasure of hearing Anne live in Biloxi about 10 years ago. She still sounded incredible. Could hardly believe my ears, how good she was.
A shame the Caribou Ranch (Chicago's studio) burned down so we'll never hear the true stereo version of Anne Murray with Chicago singing... however I can take duophonic as a substitute. All techno lingo aside: what a mezzo phenomenon she is.
Sorry, I didn't see your comment sooner. Thank you, I never knew it was called duophonic. Enhancing a mono track to sound like stereo is a simple technique I discovered when mixing old mono mono recordings back in the 60s. It's easy to do and very effective.
