Hi I have a question. Are there certain rules for using the GoPro? Or can I just use any mount? I’d like to use my chest mount but I’m not sure if that’s allowed!
Good question! I'm pretty sure chest mounts are allowed. You might want to double check on GFNY's website or hit up their support channel. They are pretty responsive. I saw many people rocking helmet cams, so that's also an option if you don't get an answer on chest mounts. (I'm pretty sure chest mounts aren't an issue though,)
Yeah, once we got out of the Palisades (the first segment through the park), the road gets better. Tbh - the road throughout the course wasn't too bad. There was definitely some chunky sections though! Going through West Nyack was a tad rough. I lost a bottle when I hit a pot hole and the bottle hit the rider next to me. It nearly took him out!! 😲
@@smouvemouves thanks for the update. I didn't see your stats but could tell you were prepared and well conditioned for the ride. I'm going to try Sebring for next year.
@@talentous718 No prob! At this upcoming event in May 2024, my plan is to give a lot more effort and add a data overlay to the video. I really loved this event! Sebring sounds nice! I'm sure that will be a killer event!
Grand Fondo's should not be "no drop" rides. It should be full gas, sink or swim. Waiting for your slow buddy would've been a non-starter after paying the crazy entrance fee's for these things _ and it looked like you actually made it to the front (only to drop out of that group for your buddy??) Your vid could have been more interesting if you were actually challenging for a result. who eventually won?
I got a full time career... cycling is something I enjoy doing and I'm not getting paid anytime soon to do this, so I still came away with a great experience. However, next year's event will definitely be different 😎
You can go full gas if you want. Some people do It for the experience and to enjoy with their friends just like what this guy did with his friends. There are professionals in this race so they already finished hours before lol
I stumbled back on to this comment. I'm happy to report that this year's event was waaaay different than last year with my buddy. I finished a little over an hour quicker than the last year. I knew the course and didn't have any friends to wait up for... I went for it! 😎
I MIGHT HAVE TO POP OUT!
Bro thanks for producing this video. Very educational for first time riders. thanks!!!
Thanks! I'm glad it was useful!!
Great job on your filming, and you did good timing . I was there myself and finished in 6:31 . You took those hills nicely 🚴🏻♂️💪
Thanks, bro! This was my first time doing GFNY. I loved the ride and vibe out there at the event - I'm definitely going to attend next year's event!
Friend, what camera did you use and how did you carry it on the bike?

Thank you for sharing! Did the conditions of the pavement get better as the ride progressed?

@@smouvemouves see you Sunday. I will be there as wells.
@@joesantos7196 See ya out there on the course!
how much is the Registration fee?
Pretty costly tbh! Take a peek on their website. There's intermittent price increases as you get closer to the event.
