A Good Review. Now I can also make it with my Tigor EV, I m pretty much sure. The only thing frustrating in this vehicle is, it doesn't show the range and battery% at the same time. Experts can be Ok with it, but a normal user will face difficulty in optimizong his/her driving based on percentage left Vs range. Rest all is good in this vehicle. Thanks for this video. One more point, BPCL Charges mostly installed on hwys, but most of them are still not operating or closed. BPCL needs to looks after that. By the way, I m planning a trip to Pune to Indore and then to Kanpur, in coming days, but a stretch of more than 250 km has no chargers, awaiting for them to get installed. Lets see. I recommend your channel to everyone who says EVs are not for long distance travels. Keep up your passion and good work. Thanks 😊
Hey thanks for the support 🙏🏻 good thing about bpcl is that you see so many chargers that means in the next 3 to 6 months you will actually have a charger in 50 kms on certain highways which actually the most important ones
Will have a follow up video on it but we drove 80 to 90 speed on an average and without ac covered the distance in approximately 3.5 hrs from the jio charger
Thanks for the review. First decent review of Ec3 on a long drive. Wished it was the same trip for comparison to Goa cause up hill drive consumes more power. No regen feedback also. But thanks a lot for doing this trip n giving us your honest review.
@@NoiseFaktory hey, I am planning to take Nexon EV Max. I have gone through many videos but couldn't find a better video. Did you make a video about complete city mileage from 100 to 20% in city mode and regen mode 2 or 3? I know it's a big ask if you have to make one as it will take so many days to make it.
The need of the hour : chargers which can charge at a speed of 150kwh and cars that can atleast handle 100kwh (even smaller capacity BEVs). Imagine having 30kwh batterries which can be charged from 0 to 80 in 15 mins. If we have these type of charges for every 150 kms then long trips become a cakewalk. Heck I am ok even with 20kwh cars if it means more range every kwh and also if it reduces the price. Alas, I may be dreaming way too much. .
1 question, although its not showing in app, the percentage, but still you know that your battery is 40kwh, and if its showing 7khw charged, you already know that its 15-20% charged.
I think in summer, time of day makes a good Difference in power consumption.. due to the AC and the sun heating the interiors.. night time driving is lot more efficient...You can turn off the AC compressor once its cooled and turn it on once in a while
No particular day I guess but industrial areas usually have outages on Thursdays also in monsoon you need to be careful while planning as heavy rains cause power cuts too
Please mention time as well As it's equally important factor to consider For example how much time it took for each charging at fast charging stations Please
Sir finally how many hours it had taken to reach hyd frm Pune and also do mention what time you people had started nt frm where you picked your friend. Hoping helpful answer🙏
I am glad that I cancelled this car and bought Nexon EV prime XZ plus model. The air cooled motor is a big con and Necon ev gives far better features by paying bit extra over this car.
Is there hill hold for Citroen ec3 ? Does the vehicle roll back in slopes ? Is handbrake a must to hold the vehicle form roll back while starting from a slope ?
Without active cooling battery life over long term usage might be an issue where the ageing across the various module might vary. We have seen this with cars like E2O, Verito.
The placement of batteries in both the cars are different. In Tata its like matrix of cells and in Citroen its blade (just like blades in BYD).The arrangement of blades are in such a way that they have the space for dissipating the heat and it manages well than the matrix cells. Hence w.r.t the life based on cooling, you can expect the life of citroens to be better than Tata's although they are managing the cooling using water. E2O or Verito were using Lithium Ions, where citroen is using lithium iron phosphate where DoD (depth of discharge) is much better and the CD cycles are much higher. If tatas are using just Lithium ion (not sure which chemistry they use although some people claims they use iron based lithium batteries which I am not sure of), you can expect double the life for citroen batteries than Tatas.
@@hiran2016 Looks like you have more info than anyone ever shared about the eC3, Svolt(the company supplying cells) didn't disclose this and I don't think they have blade cells. But Svolt does specialise in air based cooling though. But I agree that active cooling might not be needed for regular usage, but the point in question is during fast charges when the ambient temperature is high. This is known to degrade cells if the battery temperatures reach high temps. Verito and E2O are also using LFP. Tata uses LFP too. Tata EVs use liquid cooling and not water. Better get your facts correct before generally having astrological predictions on ones preferences of which is going to survive longer. I don't have anything against Citroen, it is just that company hasn't tested it enough in Indian conditions. And battery degradation due to heat is a sure issue when active and uniform cooling is missing. Also, when a company advises back to back fast charging but customers can't even do a single fast charge when the ambient temperature is high is laughable.
@@hiran2016 Also, you seem to be missing the comments by other eC3 owners just below this comment, they are clearly saying active cooling or lack of it is a definite issue for fast charging. I don't understand your DoD comment in this context anyways.
@@hiran2016your views on blade battery is correct but E2Os and E veritos are using LiYP and LFP batteries respectively of Wondersky make. I know this bcoz I have both. And e2o is cabin ac cooled where as e verito is AC compressor based cooling.

Hey we did use that charger while returning and have also used it during our first hyderabad drive in Tigor ... jio vo was used as we didn't start our journey at 100% and I saput was looking out of reach
Hi guys. This is the first time i think this review might mislead people. You should have reviewed fairly on lack of active cooling and details on the battery pack and lack of details that are required for a ev user are missing in this car. They would have nailed it if they had good battery pack..
Hi not at all trying to mislead anyone ... we just took it on a long drive and shown car's performance and as there are so many videos on the car we didn't bother to give out redundant details and just stick to the range test and driving experience, as far as cooling system is concerned we actually didn't face any issues and you know that any issue faced by us in travels we will be the first ones to highlight that and probably even dedicate a full video just to explain that issue . Maybe in future we will try to drive the car just during peak hit climate conditions in the afternoon for 200+ kms and try to find out if the cooling is working effectively or not
Also, I don't like the fact that battery overheating issue is underplayed in the video. This is a dealbreaker for those who want to use the vehicle on highway. Citroen boasts back to back DC charging is possible but they didn't say in the night only!! What a way to fool public. According to me one should raise a complaint under warranty and not agree with this kind of shit.

We have a dedicated video on charging apps. Check on our channel
