I was stationed there at Taukunen Barracks from 1973-1976.. Some of the best years of my life.. Loved Worms, the Germans pronounce it Vorms… There is a 2 week festival on the river called the Bachfisch fest, that is the time of your life, at least it was back then.. The Cathedral is like the only place that stood after the tremendous bombing there.. As I recall the walls of it are 10 or 12 feet thick, but you could still see chunks of it that were blown out.. I lived off post, and adored the civilian's there.. My landlady treated me better than my own family did, and they treated me good... If you wanted a beer at 8am, you just knocked on her door.. She would tell you to come on in, and she would shove a Eichbaum bier in your face... Hehehe... Thanks for the video...
Hi. Great video. I'm glad that you got the opportunity to finally go to Worms. Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy it as much as I did. I loved Worms, after being stationed there for six years. It's a beautiful little historic town in my opinion. I really do think that the weather put a damper on your really seeing all of the beauty in that little town and your really enjoying it It's a lot more to do there in the Summer months.
Mandy you just don’t know how Im spreading your channel to others due to you and your family taking trips all around Germany and other places. Our two adult kids were here in Florida visiting and just went back and I told them about your channel and how I seen places from the videos where I want to visit when we come there either in May or June of next year. I’m watching your weather so my hubby and I can decide to come and we want nice days. Of course you can’t predict what the weather will be next year. But anyway keep going places and I will keep storing your videos for where we want to visit!!!
More pretty places to go for a day trip from K-town: • Bad Kreuznach with houses on the bridge over the river and an old pharmacy with a façade decorated with snakes and skulls. • Rüdesheim am Rhein, very touristy place at the entrance of the Rhine Gorge, walk the famous Drosselgasse and take a round-trip by boat to Assmannshausen, chair lift up to the Niederwald Hunting Lodge, walk through a park with an enchanted cave, an artificial ruin, and gorgeous views over the Rhine to the Niederwald Monument celebrating Germany's victory over France in 1871, and then back to Rüdesheim by another cable car. Take the ferry from Bingen to Rüdesheim to get there, not the long deviation via Mainz that most GPSs will tell you.
Thank you, Mandy, I needed this video this morning; as I am missing my mom. I remember going to there when I was Calvin's age. It brought back wonderful memories. The videography was on point. A+!💯☺🌟
Not going to lie while being stationed here, my husband and I get a lot of ideas for adventure days from your channel as well different restaurants and stores lol but I love your videos overall!
0:50 This is why you always should carry an umbrella with you! 7:20 Didn't you follow the footsteps of Martin Luther? He was quoted to Worms to revoke his teachings! Worms was also in the Middle Ages, the government center in the Holy Roman Empire of the German nation and was one of the centers of Jewish faith.
OMG! even though my family lives in Texas my Mom still lives in Worms.right by the old water tower which l did not see in your video.you must go back when the weather is better.down by the Rhine River they got restaurants and cafes you can even go on a ride on a ship.there is a lot you haven't seen.l was there last Sept.and will go again in November.looks like u had a good time anyway.btw when will u have merch again? Nice vlog! Beside the Dom Worms is famous for the Nibelungen. A German heroic tale with everything GoT or middle Earth offers too. There is a museum for that there. It's great to go on adventures with you. #LoveTheZeek

Thanks for making this! I live in Worms. Always wanted to know, what others think of my city.
This was my mom's hometown. She was born there in 1936 and left for the states in 1960.

I absolutely love Craig Morgan. He lives about an hour from us outside of Nashville! We were stationed in Mannheim from 87-90.
