This is what a freaking market should look like, not these dull ass malls. I made it all the way through. I've seen grosser at the Vietnamese/Chinese markets in Oakland Ca.
Great Video, it really brings back the memories of when I went to Mexico to visit my grandparents. Thats exactly how the markets in Mexico were like!!! I love the markets, the only thing was that everyone was always trying to sell you something. ^__^ Thanks for the video
Happy New Year Victor! I'm curious how you were using your GoPro. Was it mounted on your head? Everyone seemed so much shorter than you. Great video thanks.
Born in Peru, has an american accent, lives in japan. Your life is so interesting, i love watching all your videos and hope i come across you when i visit japan in a year or 2! :)
I remember going to one of these near Lima when I was a kid, the smell was overwhelming but the fruit shakes were delicious. Plus dead chickens everywhere (probably the origin of the smell) and dogs walking around everywhere too. Fun place.
Victor , un espa;ol entre tus subscriptores y he de deecir que me impresiona que te manejes con tanta fluidez en 3 lenguas diferentes, keep doing such lovely and entretaining videos boss!
Great video! I thought a lot of the food looked interesting. I love to try new and different food. How do you know if something is good unless you try it? I will try almost anything, if I don't like it, then that is that, but you gotta try things!! Lol.
Victor, there's a popular market in Saigon, Vietnam that looks just like this one in Peru. When I watched the video, the market reminded me so much of the one I went to in Vietnam. They sell lots of fruits, candy, dry meat etc. I think you'll enjoy it. You should visit some time. Btw, yoko looks so uninterested lol
Great video, Victor. Sorry about your female companion (soroche). Most of people don't feel it. She needed to rest first day. Good time to visit South America (Summer time there). On Sundays you would not recognized the market, it gets really crowded. In Macchu Picchu (about 4 hrs in train from Cusco), the Andes always makes me feel very insignificant.
Hi Victor, Seem like you are having a good time in Cusco. If you have some time, as you already visited the most popular sites, hire a cab for the day and go to the Salt Mines in Maras and Moray. Also check out the show at the "Centro Qosqo de Arte Nativo" (pretty good imho). Happy traveling P.S.: If your wife is suffering from "soroche" besides "te de coca" you can buy "Sorochji Pills" (over the counter medication)
Oh I knew he was going down the wrong stairs were he left his wife haha and yeah she does look uncomfortable there which is a little funny because Victor doesn't haha ¡Bienvenida a Latinoamérica señora! puede que nuestras calles no sean muy bonitas en general y también se vea obligada a llevar el bolso por delante pero la gente es muy amigable y nos gusta reír..!!
djokawari Why are people like you so heated on youtube over one comment? I don't know how long he's going to be gone for, i dont pay attention to every detail in this mans life
The thing is that most Peruvian(Latin American) markets are completely unhygienic. They leave the meat open. Who ever passes by can touch the meat and it is ok to touch it. It mainly stinks not because it is raw meat but because they don't have a cooling system. As you walk through the market there is blood and dirt on the floor. I lived in Peru for more than a year and the markets can be really gross for some people. But the food is delicious.
Unlike other ignorant comments below, Peruvians are very healthy and food poisoning is extremely rare. Unlike frozen meat, fresh meat is much healthier for you. Just because it doesn't come from a freezer or in a can, it doesn't mean that it unhygienic. People don't go around touching meat, the vendor makes their living and reputation with this. Think before you make such as stupid and pig ignorant comment. The only I would recommend is for people not to drink tap water.
ladyfl786 "Unlike frozen meat, fresh meat is much healthier for you" back that shit up with peer reviewed science or post a retraction. I'm holding you accountable for your unsubstantiated statements. If we all just went around making up 'facts', we'd live in a terrible world.....one much like the one we find ourselves in now.....depressing.
Most people speak Spanish. Quecha is still spoken by native Peruvian Indians, though. Perhaps it's like people who still speak French in Louisiana? Minor but important to local areas?
I'm the same way with smells, if I smell something bad or sometimes just something odd like meat I will have a headache or feel sick for the rest of the day.
¡Gracias por su video interesante! Esta me hicieron sentir como un gigante como consecuencia de método de filmacíon. No lo sé por que. Quizás distorsíon de la lente o el ángulo. Sorry if my Spanish isn't good. I'm still learning it. Anyways yeah it felt like you were some 8ft. tall guy walking around in there. I don't feel that from your other vids that I've seen. あけましておめでとうございます!
I do that too :O I think both languages sound similar. like 'mas' and 'masu'. And 'de'. Also, I always thought "donde esta?" sounds eerily like "doko desu ka?"
I love the similar sounding words with different meanings...baka, well, at least both are talking about cows ;-) aho - Garlic vs Idiot... and so forth.
Ok, so it's no just *my* wife... Your lady looks as if she's hating life...my wife would be too...hence we don't visit the land whence my parents came... ;-)
I've gone hunting many times and had to field dress several types of animals, so this doesn't really gross me out. They do smell pretty bad though, and that's one thing we can't experience through a video.
Poor thing ur wife really hated it there. I understand I hate going to San Miguel in El Salvador: it's very dirty, but most cities are in Latin America are anyways; not to mention that they are very dangerous too.
I do not know what exactly you mean by grossed ....been open to other cultures does not mean grossed....just like japanese eat almost everything but it is respected by other cultures.......
Gimmeaflakeman Great video! Poor Yoko, she should have chewed some coca leaves, the best medicine for altitude sickness. By the way, you need to practice your Spanish. You have some heavy English accent some times.
This is what a freaking market should look like, not these dull ass malls. I made it all the way through. I've seen grosser at the Vietnamese/Chinese markets in Oakland Ca.

Me parece bien la idea 'Go Pro'.Me interesa este mercado!Gracias,Victor!

Victor , un espa;ol entre tus subscriptores y he de deecir que me impresiona que te manejes con tanta fluidez en 3 lenguas diferentes, keep doing such lovely and entretaining videos boss!
Awesome video Victor. It's interesting to see how other cultures do business locally.
Paying the lady to make the Donkey talk was hilarious and awesome haha
Great video! I thought a lot of the food looked interesting. I love to try new and different food. How do you know if something is good unless you try it? I will try almost anything, if I don't like it, then that is that, but you gotta try things!! Lol.
I agree! I try everything!
***** I had a great time, Roberto! Pero ahora estoy en Japan. Talvez escuchaste la lengua Quechua? Parece Japonés, no?
***** There are lots of Japanese tourist and immigrants in Peru too. And Chinese immigrants too.
Victor, there's a popular market in Saigon, Vietnam that looks just like this one in Peru. When I watched the video, the market reminded me so much of the one I went to in Vietnam. They sell lots of fruits, candy, dry meat etc. I think you'll enjoy it. You should visit some time.

Awesome video, Victor! And the whole "No se siente bien... está vomitando..." part was hilarious. Well, not for Yoko I guess.
Very interesting. Enjoy your vacation. Happy New Year!

So why was I supposed to be grossed out
nice video , i felt queasy after about 20 min though . too much movement ? or may the perspective from the head mounted go - pro .
Is there any grand New Years celebration in Peru like there is in Japan, and NYC Times Square? And if so, will you post a vid?
Happy New Year Vic!
Different cultures fascinate me
sheesh, I was just scrolling through the comments and ended up staring at your comment for at least 10secs thinking "da faq"?
Baka Man Why?
Gimmeaflakeman sorry I meant avatar
Did it smelled more like fish, or cooked meat, or fruits, or did it smelled different depending on what section you were in, while you were in there?
feliz ano nuevo Victor!!
Oh man I love these types of markets!
Thanks for the tour victor and I don't think yr wife liked that market place ??
Best wishes for the new year
Cool video Victor! Thanks for doing this one.
Hehe, mind your head Victor! Almost totalled the GoPro after the Mule Meat section!
Hi Victor,
Seem like you are having a good time in Cusco. If you have some time, as you already visited the most popular sites, hire a cab for the day and go to the Salt Mines in Maras and Moray. Also check out the show at the "Centro Qosqo de Arte Nativo" (pretty good imho).

I have always wanted to go to Cusco. Thanks for the video tour.
Victor, did you ever wish for the power of control?
Es como las plazas de mercado de Puerto Rico. ¡¡¡ Hace años que no voy a una !!!
Are you extremely tall or are some Peruvians really short?
John Doe
Neither Japanese people, or British, or Spaniards, etc.
UT24N I'm just under 6 feet tall which is TALL in Peru.
Oh I knew he was going down the wrong stairs were he left his wife haha and yeah she does look uncomfortable there which is a little funny because Victor doesn't haha
¡Bienvenida a Latinoamérica señora! puede que nuestras calles no sean muy bonitas en general y también se vea obligada a llevar el bolso por delante pero la gente es muy amigable y nos gusta reír..!!
Does Japan not have any open markets like these? I know they have that popular seafood place but it's ain't too comparable to this.
Yoko looks ready to head back to Japan ASAP.
Wasn't grossed out. I saw grosser things working for a wildlife rehabilitation centre. Thanks for sharing Victor!
Victor, who watched Maggie while you were gone?
Unless she went with him... the wife?
Check that. I think I saw her in the Vid. Mayhaps one of his wife's relatives will keep an eye on Maggie then?
Or he puts her outside/leaves her in the house like normal people with dogs?
Buu Victor would leave his dog at his house alone for some 2 weeks? You believe that? What the hell are you talking about?
djokawari Why are people like you so heated on youtube over one comment? I don't know how long he's going to be gone for, i dont pay attention to every detail in this mans life
cool vid victor thank you
That was a really fun video to watch. Thanks for sharing. :)

Victor, when you answered that guy by saying "カメラ", was that Spanish? or a slip of the tongue?
I kept waiting for the gross stuff but it never came : (
I found the meat stall kind of yucky, but I'm a vegetarian, so I dunno if anyone else would. XD

Yeah....watch me do it.
It looks incredibly fun!
Victor:I can't cook
Them: It's already cooked.
LOL
Hi, what do you think about dog meat in Yangshuo.
Is Quechua the language of communication in Peru and Spanish the language of instruction?
Most people speak Spanish. Quecha is still spoken by native Peruvian Indians, though. Perhaps it's like people who still speak French in Louisiana? Minor but important to local areas?
Is it your wife's first visit to Peru? She looked a bit shocked :)
Yoko must've been not so used to the environment. Was it humid? Did she eat much or stay hydrated? :(
She was already sick. The altitude didn't help.
Wooaahhh! I nearly puked!
From how dizzy I got though.
Keep still Victor! Lol
Great video though!
Thank you for sharing.
You should come to Colombia. You'll love it.
Wow there are so many things I wanna buy in this market! I wanna go to Peru someday!!
You'll get there some day!
Happy new year !!
¿Uooo porqué no sabía que Víctor habla español? Amazing I want to be like you one day and speak 3言語
I'm the same way with smells, if I smell something bad or sometimes just something odd like meat I will have a headache or feel sick for the rest of the day.
明けましておめでとうございます。
¡Gracias por su video interesante! Esta me hicieron sentir como un gigante como consecuencia de método de filmacíon. No lo sé por que. Quizás distorsíon de la lente o el ángulo.

Holly crap victor you can speak Spanish, that's cool!
Your Spanish is very impressive, Victor!
This is actually similar to the markets of mexico. Its weird but I miss that "stench" haha.
We have a similar market in my hometown and I can totally relate to her over the smell thing. That mix of strong raw odors is really disgusting.
I got dizzy @-@
The dog didn't even try to steal the pork xD
Nice, thanks for sharing!
Lol you mixed Japanese with Spanish...happens to me all the time, my parents just look at me with blank faces as if I'm speaking in tongues..
I do that too :O I think both languages sound similar. like 'mas' and 'masu'. And 'de'. Also, I always thought "donde esta?" sounds eerily like "doko desu ka?"
I love the similar sounding words with different meanings...baka, well, at least both are talking about cows ;-)
aho - Garlic vs Idiot... and so forth.
Thank you for the great video, thumbs up.
Amazing! What made me sick was the shaky camerawork.
Lol, yo if the dog won't touch the pork...
Reminds me of the mercados in Mexico..
Great video!
It is beautiful !
"Buenos díasとか" lol
Never seen Japan from this Side...,
Ok, so it's no just *my* wife... Your lady looks as if she's hating life...my wife would be too...hence we don't visit the land whence my parents came... ;-)
Cool video
I've gone hunting many times and had to field dress several types of animals, so this doesn't really gross me out. They do smell pretty bad though, and that's one thing we can't experience through a video.
very nice.
Not grossed out at all. I've experienced similar things in Dominican Republic.
Victor, your wife didn't look so happy. LoL
Looks just like the Markets in India.
isn't the president in peru japanese?
So how'd you feel, Victor!? Awkward or Nostalgic!? Or a bit a both? X3
So that's where I can pick me up some donkey face. Amazon's always outta stock.
All of the things in that mercado that never got purchased...
Yoko seemed annoyed to me..
But wow she actually waited for you outside on the same place. .
I hope your wife is a feeling better.
Not so bad. Thanks for the video.
dude, did your grow three feet or are you wearing a super tall hat?
Poor thing ur wife really hated it there. I understand I hate going to San Miguel in El Salvador: it's very dirty, but most cities are in Latin America are anyways; not to mention that they are very dangerous too.
reminds me of the flea market
That mercado has my name XD
I do not know what exactly you mean by grossed ....been open to other cultures does not mean grossed....just like japanese eat almost everything but it is respected by other cultures.......
Poor Yokoさん. It must be a pretty intense culture shock :-)
No, not culture shock. She's been before. It was altitude sickness coupled with a cold that started in Japan and lingered far into our vacation.
Gimmeaflakeman
Great video! Poor Yoko, she should have chewed some coca leaves, the best medicine for altitude sickness. By the way, you need to practice your Spanish. You have some heavy English accent some times.
Fra Santo That doesn't always work, though. I've been there 6 times or so. It's hit and miss.
Dude your wife doesn't look like a happy camper at all! Reminds me of my wife whenever we do anything related to my culture. Eh those J-girls.
Que la gran puta es Queso Paria? Seriously, I have no idea... :/
No dislikes? Let's keep it that way :)
Not gross. Thanks for the vid!
Not gross to me. But still, good call with the warnings.
Why does Yoko? Yeah i think it's Yoko. But why does she always look mad in your video's
She was very sick in this video. And she's not. That's just your perception.
Your wife looked disgusted with the informal market that she was in. XD.
She was actually already sick and she had altitude sickness. SAROCHE!
Poor Yoko.
Poor Yoko was looking a "flaky" in the meat section.
