This episode had me drenched in tears. And what's worse is that I had just got finished watching "Wishing" before this one so I was already sobbing. I love this show, but it makes me so crazy sometimes.
This is the only episode that made me cry..That kid was so innocent and believed everyone was good. Even when his friend was asking him to swim across the bay because his parents were waiting on him on the other side😢.."I can make it..can't I?"
Kyle thought his parent's dumped him because he wanted an expensive shirt :( I got so sad when he believed it. At least he died knowing they loved him and did everything to find him.
Even though the son was wrong for leading Kyle to his death, I can’t help but feel bad for him in the fact that he was groomed by his father so severely that rather than get authorities to save another victim he ended up believing that it was a situation to be jealous of and “get rid of competition”.
The father didn't deserve the prison. He deserved to continue his life with his wife and have the baby he talked about when the police came to see them.
@555nadira One of the best songs by one of the best bands ever. Noel wrote it about losing somebody close to you when his mother when she was hospitalized and the doctors thought she might have cancer. Beautiful song.
@llHyRaXll the older boy told him his parents were on the other side of the lake and to swim to them. he did but drowned half way across the lake, he never made it home. in a way it is murder because the older boy knew that a boy kyles size would not make it across.
both this episode and the one before it don’t feature an actual murder, but someone encouraging someone to their death without the victim realizing because the victim didn’t know any better. in the last episode, the person let his mentally disabled friend stand on the train tracks and in this one, the kid told the victim to go in the water and swim to the other side.
My favorite part when the young boy's father confronted the pedophile. The pedophile said something about his "experience" with the young and then - POW POW POW! from the gun of the father. The pedophile is DEAD!! I would call that JUSTIFIABLE HOMICIDE!!
While I don't have a lot of sympathy for him, murder is still murder. Self-defense (or defense of a third party) is an acceptable affirmative defense; revenge isn't.
Cayden Boyd is a boy who portrayed Michael Boyle in Mystic River (2003), Kyle Moran in Crossing Jordan, Max in The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl (2005) and a young version of Warren Worthington lll in X - Men: The Last Stand. He must be a one who played Kyle Bream, who swam that night in 1998.....
@mach2288 He took Kyle to the river and told him to swim to the other side, knowing full well no kid could ever do that and he'd drown. You can feel sorry for him having such an evil dad, but there was nothing "involuntary" about that.
I don't think so. I think he actually thought the kid would make it. The irony of this episode is the one person who genuinely tried to help the boy was the was the person who got him killed.
@@TheStapleGunKid if Archie, the murderer, wanted to really help Kyle, he could've made an anonymous call and let the police know where Kyle was. But he didn't because then his dad would've gone to prison. He could've told him to run but told him to swim instead. He lied that his parents were on the otherside of the river. He killed Kyle because he took his place as his dad's "star." Archie was sexually abused by his dad when he was nine, hence why Kyle's hair was blond and that creep commenting on Kyle being nine, like Archie. The pedophile was trying to make him look like his kid. He got tired of his own son, so Archie, yearning for his dad's love and his mom wasn't there to stop not defend Archie, he tried to put up with it, hoping his dad would love him again, but then when Kyle's uncle came to try to get him back and the creep said that he and Kyle were going far away, Archie took that as an opportunity to get rid of Kyle for good. Archie is still a well written character at the end of the day, which makes his arrest sympathetic because his pedo of a dad manipulated him to think that what he was doing to him was love and then threw him away like garbage when Kyle showed up.
@@jacindaellison3363 Archie wasn't a murderer. Like I said, he really wanted to help the boy escape. Was telling him to swim across the river a good idea? No, but Archie was just a kid himself at the time. It's understandable he made a bad choice. It wasn't malicious. Archie was just as much a victim of his lunatic father as Kyle was. @@jacindaellison3363 They should have let him go. Any half-brained defense attorney will get his charged dropped. He was a kid at the time and there's no evidence of criminal intent on his part. He just wanted Kyle to leave and go home so he could be his father's sole son again.
This was such a heartbreaking episode, especially since it turned out that the person who got the victim killed was actually the boy who was trying to help him get home.
Archie (the "killer") was not trying to help him. He was trying to get rid of Kyle, the victim because he was jealous of the attention his father was giving to Kyle.
@@ss04to06 That's not the way I saw it. Sure he wanted his father's attention, but he was also hoping Kyle would get home. He was genuinely trying to help, even if it was done in part for selfish reasons.
@𝕯𝖔𝖗𝖔𝖙𝖍𝖊𝖆 𝕬𝖗𝖓𝖆𝖚𝖑𝖙 But the he was just a kid too. At that age he didn't know that swimming would be fatal either. That's why he wouldn't be charged. He legitimately thought the other boy could make the swim.
@@TheStapleGunKidHonestly, it’s a complex situation. Archie was a victim and was brainwashed by years abuse to believe that “getting rid of the competition” was the normal reaction instead of calling authorities. That said, at his age he would’ve known that a child of Kyle’s age and size would likely drown in that massive water. If he had abandoned Kyle at a forest or random highway expecting Kyle to get a rod or call for help there, it could’ve been a case where Archie was 100% just trying to help Kyle. But that amount of water with nothing? Yeah even if he didn’t want him to die the situation he left Kyle in was definitely so that he would be too overwhelmed and harmed to return to Archie’s dad. If it makes you feel better, the court would likely give Archie minimal time or not put him behind bars, as they would take into account that he was also a victim and wouldn’t of done such a terrible thing to another underage victim of a predator had Archie not been abused by his father since he was a small child.
why didn't the uncle return him back home!? how could sell his own nephew to a pervert! and the perverts son after taking him out of that house why didn't he take him to the police station so he could be reunited with his parents! hes old enough to know that!!! it just tugs at my heart poor boy believed his parents didn't want him anymore! sick monster telling him those lies!!!

At most they're arresting because he knew Kyle wouldn't make it or left him alone? And I dunno about saving... Archie was a groomed boy by his peso father. He didn't save Kyle to help him, he did it out of jealousy. Archie had been so groomed he was in extreme denial that what his father was doing to him and Kyle was wrong.
Reasonably foreseeable that most likely Kyle would not at the age be able to make the swim. Archie was a minor at the time so he might beat the rap..but Archie is a bad apple.
The older kid was the sex abuser's victim until he got too old to satisfy his urges. He kidnapped a younger boy. He called the older boy his "star" in pictures and videos. He was jealous. I do not think it was intent to kill the kid. No one can blame the dad for killing that pervert.
