Dam it's about time. A normal camping video. During your lockdown over there in the UK you could have went stealth camping you're away from everybody you wouldn't have got in trouble if you would have got caught plus it would have been a true stealth camp situation and you have all that equipment for stealth camping and you didn't do it but at least you're back about time a normal video nice and long

What a beautiful day and evening you had there.
Don't feel bad about the trecking poles, they exist for a reason, loads of fit healthy people use them.
I got my first walking stick when I was 34 and my first wheeled walking frame when I was 40. I can't use walkingsticks now but I do use a staff in the woods but I can only walk so far.
I love to watch these sorts of vids because it is nice to be able to experience places (even if it is only on screen) I am unlikely to be able to get to myself on foot :)

The tent you used would be great for stargazing great video mate. Also don't use poles myself even though I regularly hike the lake district. Regarding the strange noises I've never really heard owt strange but I've seen some weird things in the dark skies and they weren' satellites or meteors either.

It's Menwith Hill, I believe it's still an early warning system operated by the US.
      Fylingdales is near Pickering.
Honestly one of the good things about living round here is that in a first-strike situation, we'd be so close to the first strike zones we'd be immediately incinerated, thus not having to go through a "When the wind blows/Threads" type situation.

@@shabingly I was only on t’phone to my brosef about this on Friday. I said the same thing, anywhere round here should be wiped out straight away, even if it was slightly over towards the nuclear power sites of Heysham or Sellafield I think we’d still be vaporised without much worry.

dan i felt the same when i first used walking poles .but they do work .they keep your body upright getting better oxygen in your lungs while walking up the hills and help with balance in windy / rocky conditions esp when you have a big pack on your back lol and it also helps your legs because your arms /wrists are doing some of the work aswell atb kev

  • @chromebaby

I found that using walking poles slowed me down and made me less steady when going down steep hills. I think it’s some sort of psychological effect I can’t explain. Without them I scamper around like a mountain goat. I also kept losing them! I do think they’re good for giving your upper body something to do while hiking. Great video!

Love this one dude - one of your best... I especially love the bit where you get deep and philosophical about the P*andem!c and C*vid but then say "Anyway let's get down to t'pudding' - Perfect juxtaposition and perfect evaluation of the experience and of our times... I'm going up to Ilkley on a wild camp myself this week (that's why I watched this one)... Oh and by the way I've used the Trekology UL80 in a one man tent and it just about fits length wise but not much space either side. I used it in the Robens Arrowhead... Peace on wild camps brother.
