Honestly It is heartbreaking to hear that Rachael was diagnosed with Breast Cancer as her sister revealed back in May along with the fact that she had been living in a nursing facility since January of 2024 up until her death on August 10. It wouldn’t surprise me that Rachael was secretly battling her breast cancer for 3-5 years straight and only disclosed it to her family members and a few of her friends, which would partly explain why she hadn’t done *ANY* new voiceover in Anime following her reprisal as Cocco in _Hunter x Hunter: Last Mission_ in 2019. Apparently, her last convention appearance Rachael did was in Collect-A-Con Los Angeles back in March 2024, and she was originally set to make her debut in Houston, TX for Collect-A-Con Houston in April and in San Antonio, TX for NostalgiaCon San Antonio in May to reunite with her Pokemon castmates but she had to cancel those two conventions because her breast cancer started to metastasize in her bones. Still, it’s more heartbreaking that both Rachael Lillis and Utena’s Japanese voice actor, Tomoko Kawakami passed away from Cancer and Rachael Lillis’ passing happened just one month after Shannen Doherty (Prue from _Charmed)_ passed away from Stage 4 Breast Cancer which she fought for a second time for four years straight from 2020-2024.

They basically recreated a Scooby-Doo episode, and Rachael was the one who stopped the villain and saved the day (by tripping him). I've not watched a lot of Hunter X Hunter, but watching that clip at the beginning, I love the energy she gave when voicing Coco, she really seemed to be having fun with the role. In addition to Misty, Jessie and Jigglypuff, she also came back to voice Maylene in the Diamond and Pearl seasons. Alot of time has already passed, so I can't guarantee such a project can ever be made. Sadly, Rachael will not be part of this project project... may she rest peacefully. (Even Kirby Morrow's passing got to me, a few years ago).
