The secret to being an anime voice actor is to live in Texas. Not many people talk about it but it is what it is. You are required to go in person in the most cases. If you want to make a career out of just anime you have to get used to the fact that you'll need to move.
Aw shoot! I live up in Canada… no way I’m going to live to Texas! Too hot! But hearing Jo’s and the other actors’ dubbing work in Genshin Impact really made want to try it out!
Noted! Especially agreeing with your last point. I've directed/voiced a fandub and foley project (funnily enough it was the Pokémon episode with Gary you showed as your example for it) with an animation class a looong time ago and there were so many people (including myself!) making those kinds of mistakes. It was a nightmare to edit!
Can these tips also apply in like enhancing your voice overall for videos to be more interesting and great to listen to, especially for someone who is not a nature english speaker?
Heya! I live up in Canada. I was trying to ask questions around voice acting in French cause that’s the language we speak around here. I realized that the dubbed voices are always the same in Québec and honestly I’m getting tired of hearing always the same voices in every single show! Turns out the few voice actors in the Québec French industry are trying really hard to get people to not take up voice acting to keep their jobs secure… so when I asked around I was immediately shut down and told there’s no place for new people even if they are talented. I get that it’s a difficult situation for them since they are always in competition with the French(in actual France) to get the dubbing jobs. But it’s a bummer for all the younger ones like me who would like to try! I don’t know if you’ve ever heard anime in French but I honestly can’t stand! It just sounds horrible to me and I’m not even sure why! So I watch in Japanese subbed in English or English dubbed. But I always wonder if there isn’t a way to make the French versions sound more… natural I guess? … sorry I wrote a whole essay! 😅

Yea sadly most anime is dubbed there. But there are other studios that remote dub animes which is cool!

Wriothesley needs a rerun😭
Let's hope we get to run it back with him soon enough.
I hope he does, I need a new cyro character 😭
Indubitably, I’m building a Hanging Jacket Team because Yelan has a hanging jacket and so does Wriothesley, Freeze team go brrrr

I really enjoy just how similar and in line these videos are with your academy's. Thanks for always spreading knowledge to us all.
Got an add at the "it's " of number 3. Nice.
Thx you this is great video value ❤
Thank you!
@JoeZieja Could you show some real sessions of the 3 Beeps example? That would be super helpful to see.
We'll see!

I love the yells and screams in anime! Great video Joe, would have loved to have seen you go Super Saiyan though 🤯
So what I'm hearing is that all the time I've spent lip-syncing to tiktok audios has prepared me for anime. :P
PRECISELY!!
