    if you could show how to reset the oil service reminder on the cars computer that would be awesome, it seems like nobody knows how to do that and it is now causing multiple sensors in my jetta to go off

    The filter is well located on this 1.4T engine. The only pain in the ass is the belly pan. Personally, I cut out a small part of the big plastic cover underneath the car so I can do oil changes without removing it. 95% of the cover is still there so, no big deal for dust and water.

    And in the long run, this vid will get more views than the Dakota stuff 😂

    Did mine yesterday. Very good as filter was right in the front compared to my old 99 maxima where it was buried. Great video, thx! Chose to go with k & n oil filter. Wait so did you replace washer on oil drain plug as recommended?

    VW recommends 5w30 and 5w40 oil. And must be vw 502 approved

    • @jeysonhenriquez9140
      @jeysonhenriquez9140 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      5w30 is good?

    • @redauwg911
      @redauwg911 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jeysonhenriquez9140 I would only use 5w-40 in the summer.. Thats jetta 2011 to 2018 only.

    How often do you change oil on the Jetta? Also Walmart seems to be best place to buy Mobile One. Always cheaper than auto stores even when on sail.

      12000km or 7450 milles. the cleaner the oil the longer your turbo will last. I change the filter at every oil change and I do it every 10000km (6200milles)

    I'm just waiting for the Fram oil filter haters to roll in now.
    I also vote to keep the Dakota and do a proper engine build, btw.

      Haha yeah everyone has their preference. On this thing its fine. On high performance vehicles where we are beating on them hard I definitely make sure to use the high performance filter for it. You'll see later today the maintenance we are doing on the Honda S2000 we use a specific Honda oil filter for the s2000 that makes sure it can handle the flow at that 9200rpm redline 😈

    You’d be better off leaving the dirty OEM filter in place than putting on that fram garbage.
