The last face off between Muzan and Tanjiro totally gave me "Fuck you Tony, Fuck you Ezekiel" kinda vibes :D

6:08 that's actually a japanese new year's children song, "kazoe uta (which means countdown song) - hitotsu toya" and interestingly, in the original lyrics there are 12 verses, the last of which quotes the "fire god's dance" for the gods - which in demon slayer we can adress to hinokami kagura somehow - also its a nice touch to see this song here knowing that the arc after the infinity castle will be the "countown to sunrise" arc

I don’t know if you researched more but Sony is involved with the trilogy of movies so you know, on top of ufotable having such good animation quality, they now have that

you know what. I do not actually feel too strongly in one direction between episodic or movie format at the moment but I trust in ufotable for what they do with this series. The only time where I thought they were "milking" the series is when they split the mugen train movie into episodes for the first half of season 2. Other than that, the rest of the extra scenes they added were welcomed. Especially this season. The extra character interactions and scenes will be appreciated long term when all is said and done. A lot of people focus on the action, but what is the unsung hero is largely the downtimes where simple character interactions are happening. The times where characters eat together or just have room to talk. This will pay off once the adaptation finishes and looked back on.
Though I am not too biased towards one direction, allow me to make a case for the the movie format.
From what I noticed, an episodic format benefits content creators firstly. Particularly larger channels. This is with gaming as well but the fact is having it be episodic allows them to make videos every week for it and thus be able to farm viewership from the current hot/hype thing. It helps their career, so it is in a content creators best interest to prefer seasons rather than a movie.
next, it turns out even for those that prefer the episodic format, they do not like it when its all given to you right out of the gate such as netflix animes. The most recent jojo part 6 being one example. The reason is simple. It is related to the paragraph above concerning content creators. You lose the ability to generate a hype train weekly. People don't get to discuss it on a weekly basis so it does not stay in the culture zeitgeist for long as a result.
    I'd say f that.
I care more about the long term integrity and quality of the series as prime directive over current hype train or cultural relevance. If doing it in a trilogy is the direction that they think would best represent the final saga of demon slayer into the future, then so be it. I would ask you to picture the series being complete and you were to watch it from start to finish, how would it look to you. S1 > mugen train > S2 > S3 > S4 > trilogy > ?
telling someone to watch in that order isn't bad at all.
Here is some of the positives I see with movie format.
Far better work schedule and less burnout. Anime studios are plagued with so much poor scheduling and management which snowballs down to burnout animators and thus reduced quality through cutting corners. There is no better evidence of this than an episodic season. With a movie format, they do not need to worry about making deadlines for each coming episode. Instead, It is adapted and released as one entity. As a result, the quality will naturally be more consistent and very high. Remember the final saga for demon slayer needs a ton of attention to quality animations. So much high quality animation is going to be needed that my one concern is their scheduling. They need to be given enough time. Time is everything.
while like everyone else, I would want all 3 movies to come out as quickly between each other, you have to ask yourself if this is a good idea for the legacy of the series as a whole. I'd say no. They need a lot of time and attention to truly depict what is going to happen within the finale of demon slayer. There is no way around this and as such, we have to be okay in waiting. I know I am.
Another positive is better pacing and less cutting corners due to a less restrictive and tight schedule. Pacing for a movie is fundamentally different than an episode. You actually do have more freedom in how scenes are paced in a movie. Makes sense? Pacing how events happen within 24 minutes and how it pertains to future episodes for the season is more restricting and harder than pacing to 2 hours with a single product. Ufotable is unique with how they style their compositions compared to any other anime studio. Its very cinema-esque and as such, a movie format is exactly where they work best and what I feel they should be most comfortable with.
while its true that we have to wait for 3 movies. I feel like if it was seasonal, we would still be waiting as well with a potentially riskier hit on quality that naturally comes with scheduling on a seasonal format. I don't think it will be done in one go if you get me.
lastly, a movie format is going to be 2 hours of consistent, pure content in one sitting. No breaks. No OP and one ED. Imagine you were fortunate enough to not have seen the series before. You get to go through an entire trilogy from start to finish. Its going to be a literal 6 hour rollercoaster with no fluff.
It is also not as daunting as having to go through 20+ episodes for a first time viewer. This is what I mean by caring more about the long term quality/integrity of the series. Its seeing the bigger picture what the series will look like in a completed state when I recommend it to friends.
I'd rather adhere to that line of thinking more so than doing it episodically for the sake of a hype train that starts and stops.

I think that’s a very valid, long-term thought process and I can appreciate that. At the end of the day, whatever they decide to do is going to be epic and I’ll still be able to appreciate it to the fullest 💪🏻

(Non manga reader here) I love the idea of having full fledged movies HOWEVER like you said, there’s going to be long gaps in between because no way they’re going to just release all 3 movies at once
    Like you said, money
So very unfortunate but I’m still so excited
    Especially for; Zenitsu. Let’s GOOO

I still think the movies will be epic! I will miss the immersion of week to week episodes though. Love the Zenitsu hype!
